Justin Bieber Named MVP During 2011 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

‘We’re just here having a good time,’ Bieber says after winning the coveted title. By James Dinh Justin Bieber at the 2011 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Feb. 18 Photo: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic As his quest for world domination continues, Justin Bieber took to the basketball court on Friday evening to co-headline the 2011 BBVA NBA All-Star Celebrity Game in Los Angeles. And even though his team lost, the teen sensation won the coveted title of MVP at the end of the star-studded game. Bieber did his best to play alongside fellow celebrity participants including Romeo, Common, Rob Kardashian, Trey Songz, actor Michael Rapaport and Nick Cannon. Basketball stars Scottie Pippen, Bill Walton, Rick Fox, Jalen Rose, Mitch Richmond, Chris Mullin and Swin Cash rounded out the game players. While NBA luminary Bill Walton coached the Eastern Conference, Magic Johnson served as instructor for the Western Conference. With the star talent covering the court, the East and West teams delivered steady competition against one another. But once the third quarter kicked in, the East Conference began dominating the scoreboard with a 41-33 lead. Bieber proved his basketball skills to his West team with a stat line that included eight points, two rebounds and four assists. But in the end, the Eastern Conference took the game by storm with a final score of 54-49 (Western). Despite his team’s loss, the Biebster won over the play-by-play sports commentators, who praised the teen star the one time he scored. “Justin Bieber! He could be thinking about that MVP award. He has game,” one announcer said. And as predicted, the celebrity all-star showdown ended with ESPN’s Heather Cox awarding the Most Valuable Player trophy to the teen sensation. “We’re just here. We’re having a good time. We went out there and beat them,” Bieber joked. “

Britney Spears Tweets First Snippet Of New Single ‘Inside Out’

Spears and producer Dr. Luke post 10-second audio clip for second single off new album Femme Fatale. By Shawn Adler Britney Spears Femme Fatale Photo: Jive Just two days after Britney Spears released her highly anticipated video for “Hold It Against Me,” the 29-year-old diva is back to give fans another treat with a brief snippet from her next single, “Inside Out.” “C’mon! Won’t you give me something to remember,” Spears sings in the barely 10-second clip, revealed by the singer and her producer, Dr. Luke, on Twitter . “Baby shut your mouth and turn me inside,” she crescendos. For fans, the brief snippet is a welcome treat, but hardly a surprising one, considering that Spears teased “Hold It Against Me” in similar fashion for several weeks. In an interview with MTV News, Spears’ longtime manager himself, Larry Rudolph, indicated that fans were likely to hear another song before the March 29 release of Femme Fatale, the Mississippi native’s first album in three years. Of the song itself, which he would only speak of obliquely on Thursday, Rudolph had high praise. “I don’t think I’ve been this excited about releasing a Britney single in many, many years,” he said. “It’s that good. That’s all I’m gonna say about it at the moment. I haven’t heard a final mix of it, but I should get it in the next day or two. So far, what I’ve heard is just extraordinary. It really is amazing. Her fans will be very happy with it. I’m trying hard to get it out before the album comes out.” What do you think of the new snippet? Will “Inside Out” be another Britney hit? By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Photo: Jive With a little more than a month to go before the March 29 release of Britney Spears ‘ Femme Fatale, we spoke to her longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, on the same night her eagerly anticipated “Hold It Against Me” video premiered . Rudolph revealed to MTV News during our “HIAM” live stream on Thursday night that fans will likely hear another new song before the album — executive-produced by Max Martin and Dr. Luke — comes out. “We have a second song that I think we’re gonna end up putting out before the album drops,” he teased. “I can’t say with 100 percent certainty, but I think we probably will. But we’re talking about it now and it is a monster. It really is.” Rudolph has been by Brit’s side since the beginning of her career, and he predicted that if fans love “HIAM,” then they’re in for a real treat with the next song. “I don’t think I’ve been this excited about releasing a Britney single in many, many years,” he added. “It’s that good. That’s all I’m gonna say about it at the moment. I haven’t heard a final mix of it, but I should get it in the next day or two. So far, what I’ve heard is just extraordinary. It really is amazing. Her fans will be very happy with it. I’m trying hard to get it out before the album comes out.” Spears teased some upcoming promotional plans for the album last week during a Twitter Q&A . “I’m doing a lot of promo,” she said. “There will be some major announcements in the next few days.” She added, “I’m thinking about the tour right now and I would [love] to visit a lot of places I didn’t get to go to on my last tour.” What did you think of Britney’s “HIAM” video? Britney Spears’ Manager Breaks Down ‘Hold It Against Me’ Fight Scene

‘There’s a public Britney and there’s a private Britney, and they’re very different,’ Larry Rudolph tells MTV News of Britney-on-Britney battle. By James Dinh, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Britney Spears in her “Hold It Against Me” video Photo: Jive Even with the fashion , dancing and technology elements of Britney Spears’ just-premiered video for “Hold It Against Me,” the pop singer’s one-on-one battle with herself seems to be the most talked-about scene. Larry Rudolph, the pop princess’ longtime manager spoke to MTV News via Skype after the video premiere about the climactic fight sequence and further clarified earlier reports that indicated that Britney had used a body double for the clip’s dance scenes. “It was good,” Rudolph said of combat scene. “Of course, there was a body double in there that she was fighting most of the time, which is where some confusion came in. … I heard some rumors that she used a body double. The reality is, she used a body double for the fight scene, ’cause it’s all the fight herself.” So what does the epic battle scene mean to him? While he hopes fans draw their own conclusions, he shared his theories with MTV News. “There are really two different Britneys,” he said. “There’s a public Britney and there’s a private Britney, and they’re very different. Maybe the world doesn’t really know that, maybe those of us who do know her really well understand that, but there really are two different Britneys. Maybe at some times the two Britneys are at odds with each other; most of the time they’re not. There’s some of that going on. I think it’s also about Britney just being strong and still on top after all these years. … But there’s a few different ways to look at it.” What meaning did you get from the Britney-on-Britney fight scene? Did Britney Spears’ Camp Concoct Abuse Story?

Was last week’s tabloid report about Britney Spears being abused by her boyfriend a creation of someone in the star’s camp as a means of generating buzz? Probably not, but stranger things have happened. To be clear, we’re not saying Britney Spears or Jason Trawick was in on it, or that anyone was for that matter. But it’s a bit coincidental how it played out. The timing and details of this story? Awfully strange . Flash back to last week. Star reported that Britney phoned her ex, Jason Alexander, confessing that Trawick attacked her. Radar then posted the audio. Spears’ camp decried the rumor, analysts declared the tape bogus, and Brit Tweeted that everyone involved can “kiss my lily white southern Louisiana ass!” Then came this interesting Tweeted tidbit, too: “I’m almost done with my new album and it will be coming out this March. I AM IN L-O-V-E WITH IT!” While it seems crazy to think Britney Spears would need fabricated gossip to get people talking about her new release, this is manager Larry Rudolph’s M.O. The puppet master is famous for planting stories – typically about who Britney’s dating – and micromanaging all aspects of his client’s visibility and image. Can we see Rudolph, Alexander and Star all going in on this together, leaving Spears and Trawick in the dark? Absolutely … think about it, all parties win. Painting her as a sympathetic victim, then handing the floor over to Spears herself for a defiant denial and a casual announcement of the new record? Stranger things have happened, just saying.

Wesley Snipes: Officially Ordered to Prison

He’s already been Passenger 57. But, soon, Wesley Snipes will getting another number, of the inmate variety. The action star, who tried his hardest to avoid a prison sentence on tax evasion charges, has been ordered to begin serving his three-year stint at a federal prison in Pennsylvania on December 9. All attempts by Snipes and his attorneys to overturn his 2008 conviction failed, as prosecutors allege the actor did not pay any taxes on the reported $38 million he earned from 1999 on. “The Defendant Snipes had a fair trial… The time has come for the judgment to be enforced,” wrote U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges. Indeed, for Snipes, it’s time to get off the Money Train.

Britney Spears’ Rep Denies Jason Trawick Abuse Story, Alleged Tape Recording in Statement

As you’ve probably heard, Britney Spears has been hit with serious allegations from Star and Radar Online, both of which claim the star’s boyfriend abused her. Britney purportedly called her ex-husband, Jason Alexander, to tell him about a beating she suffered at the hands of Jason Trawick . He has a recording of this. Now, both Spears’ manager, Larry Rudolph, and Trawick himself have strongly denied the allegations in a statement issued wide and posted on Britney’s site. The statement by Spears’ reps reads as follows: “Every aspect of the story published by Star Magazine is completely and utterly false and Star Magazine was informed of the falsity before it was published.” “The statements attributed to Jason Alexander are a complete fabrication as Britney has not had any form of communication with Mr. Alexander in years.” “The audio recording posted on Radar Online purporting to be between Britney Spears and Jason Alexander is so obviously fake as to be laughable.” “Suffice it to say, that Jason Trawick has never laid a hand on Britney.” “This is just another example of the irresponsible nature of the tabloid media relying on shoddy sources and false information for the sole purpose of selling magazines, without regard to the truth and without regard to who they hurt in the process.” “These irresponsible statements are defamatory and Britney Spears’ legal team will be taking legal action against all of the appropriate parties.” Earlier in the day, Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush also spoke with Jason Trawick directly, who said the assault allegations came out of nowhere. Trawick told Bush that he’s been busy arranging a charity screening of Secretariat for some children in the Valley and prepping for Spears’ birthday on Thursday. He added that the voice on the recording, posted on Radar , was clearly not Brit’s. When contacted by Access Hollywood earlier on Wednesday, David Perel, Executive Vice President of Radar Online , claimed that the recording was “100 percent verified” and a rep for Star responded that, “ Star stands by its story.” Hey, what do they have to lose at this point? In other news, happy birthday Britney !!!

Analyst: Britney Spears Recording Was Doctored

The Britney Spears tape upon which Jason Alexander claims his ex-wife detailed the beating she took at the hands of Jason Trawick appears to be bogus. Alexander told Star that Spears’ boyfriend beat her up , and she didn’t call the cops because she feared a leak. He then leaked the tape to Radar Online . But a highly-respected audio expert tells TMZ that Jason Alexander’s tape of Britney Spears “has been electronically stepped on,” i.e. doctored. A lot. Britney and Jason in a show of public solidarity yesterday . Tom Owen of OWL Investigations is Chairman of the Audio Engineering Society Standards Committee of Forensic Audio. He says the tape was altered , badly. So much so, he can’t even do a meaningful voice-recognition test. Owen says the tape has been “stepped on at least 3 times” with noise reduction, equalization and removal of aspects like timbre, sibilance and tonal qualities. So did Alexander get punked or was he in on this from the get-go? Regardless, the expert says Britney Spears has a “very vanilla voice” and with modest manipulation it wouldn’t be difficult to make someone sound like her. Kind of explains all the crappy Britney clones in music, on a side note. Britney’s manager, Larry Rudolph, adamantly denies it’s her on the tape and may take legal action. For her part, Spears went to Trawick’s office yesterday. She spent time with Jason inside the William Morris Entertainment building, where he works as an agent (formerly her agent), left by car, then returned. All in full view of the media, surely as a public showing of solidarity. Jason Trawick was also seen outside the building and appearing calm, rather than nervous or ducking for cover. He is equally adamant the tape is bogus.
