Algee Smith Breaks Down What Really Happened On McKay’s “Uncomfortable” Episode Of ‘Euphoria’

Source: Michael Kovac / Getty Algee Smith Reflects On McKay’s Euphoria Episode In New Interview When BOSSIP spoke to Euphoria star Algee Smith last month, he hinted at a specific scene in the show that made him particularly uncomfortable to shoot. I won’t give it away but I have this scene in one episode and it really challenged me as a man to do that scene. It was an uncomfortable scene for me, but I had to learn how to separate myself and just be the actor because someone might be dealing with that type. I had to get over my masculinity issues, as a black man we often have to realize it’s okay to be in this position for a minute. It’s not something that makes you less of a man but some things we just don’t feel comfortable with, like some men don’t feel okay crying. The episode of the series that focused on his character, Christopher McKay, aired last week, which also featured the scene that Smith was referencing above. The shocking turn of events had everyone talking, confused on what really went down when McKay was attacked by a group of fraternity members during an intimate moment with his girlfriend, Cassie. Algee Smith spoke to Complex following the episode causing an uproar to talk about his experience filming, what really happened in that scene, and what we can expect for McKay in the future. On what actually went down in that McKay scene: When I first read that in the script, I [wasn’t] comfortable at first because I thought it was just too much but he’s not harassed in the way that everybody thinks; it’s a hazing thing, [but] people think he’s getting raped or whatever. It’s like, nah, that’s just like messing with him, pinning him down, but the way it really looks on TV, it looks really dark. So I could see how people would think that because the editing made it look so dark. People just don’t know how to respond, [which is] really good though—when people don’t know, they ask questions. That keeps the conversation going. On Euphoria’s reception overall: The demographic is so wide, everyone is being targeted. So you got mothers and fathers who are talking, you got teenagers, you got college students, you got older people, you got the LBGTQ [community] that we’re talking to. We’re talking to everyone. We don’t [pull] any punches and I think that’s the great thing about it, we can relate to everyone. On his favorite episode of the series so far: I’m going to say my favorite was [“The Next Episode”], that’s where I feel like, just because knowing the work that went into it, and knowing how proud I made our director, I would say my episode is probably my favorite so far, but they’ve all been crazy. Everyone was getting crazy and there’s cliffhangers with everyone. On where Algee sees himself 5 years from now: I can see myself very well balancing my acting and my music. I can see myself touring. You’re going to consistently hear me on the radio, on the speaker, and on your screen. That’s my goals, be consistent just keep doing what I’m doing at a high level, getting better every year. With Euphoria already being renewed for season 2 just a few episodes in, there’s no question that this series is going to tell a lot of interesting stories in the future–and Algee is just as excited as we are.

Social Media Reacts To ‘Game Of Thrones’ Finale’s Water Bottle Appearances

Source: HBO/ Helen Sloan / HBO/ Helen Sloan ***The following post will contain SPOILERS*** H BO’s  Game Of Thrones  finally wrapped up its series on Sunday, with The Starks securing their victory and ruling throughout all of Westeros and The North. The final season of the hit series has been met with mixed criticism and extreme petitioning due to the writing of their favorite characters. Along with that came some visual blunders that couldn’t be missed. Take the finale last night, where two bottles of King’s Landing Spring Water found underneath the chairs of the Seven Kingdoms officials. Attentive fans that discovered the infamous coffee cup in the fourth episode of the show saw a water bottle at Samwell Tarly’s feet, which can be found at the 46-minute mark. Another bottle is later shown below between Davos and Gendry Baratheon in the same scene. a water bottle in King’s Landing!! #got #gameofthrones pic.twitter.com/mwGQlsLwnh — Beth (@bethisloco) May 20, 2019 You’ve heard of coffee cup now get ready for plastic water bottle? #GameofThrones pic.twitter.com/iZLZ7kx3Xa — harman. (@woIgang) May 20, 2019 As shown before, the aforementioned coffee cup was visible early in the second, where HBO digitally remove the blunder from the episode. It is yet to be determined if HBO will respond to the botch the way they did for the coffee cup. Frustrated fans of the season are looking to use this moment to bury the writers (showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff ) for their “lack of attention to detail” and wanting to get the show over with. ‘RHOAS11’ Reunion Recap: Porsha Tries To Pray The Group’s Crazy Away

Go here to see the original:

Source: Bravo / Getty Tonight’s episode Real Housewives of Atlanta is the final installment of the season 11 reunion, thankfully. It dragged on so long that it seemed like the entire season was the reunion. Anyway, tonight’s episode starts with Porsha calling NeNe out for giving her advice about not putting hands on people but turning around and putting her hands on people. So, you remember the closet incident, right? Turns out, NeNe (allegedly) choked one of the producers, who then had to go to the hospital and chipped a cameraman’s tooth. That was in addition to charging at Kandi and Porsha too. Andy then asks NeNe if she felt bad for putting her hands on people because he’s messy, but of course, NeNe said she doesn’t feel bad.  Marlo is egging NeNe on but she gets called out because when that incident happened, you could hear her yelling, “She’s pregnant!” She was talking about Porsha because NeNe charged her at her and managed to pull her belt off. On stage, Marlo claims she doesn’t even remember saying that and that she didn’t see NeNe even touch Porsha. NeNe also plays dumb and says she wasn’t even near Porsha.  It was weird. Marlo was NeNe’s hypeman the entire night, but NeNe likes her friends sycophantic so… The entire reunion was pretty much Tanya, Cynthia, Porsha, Kandi and at times, Eva, that NeNe can be foul. They did this last week, and the week after that and guess what, NeNe pretends she doesn’t care and tries to turn this into what she usually does by saying that all the girls on the show love going against her because she’s the Queen Bee.  Eva gets her moment to call out NeNe for pretending that her mic was off in order to talk to her that time Eva left their outing to go home because she was tired of them grilling her. NeNe doesn’t think she was wrong in that situation either. Eva explains that she was hurt because she had to learn that NeNe lied to her on TV. Again, NeNe doesn’t care. Then we move on to Eva talking about her domestic violence situation with her ex playing a major role in why he had to move so much. And Marlo chimes in talking about Eva isn’t genuine—as if anyone asked her. In other news, Cynthia’s love life is flourishing. We know she’s planning to marry Mike, which is a big deal because she is pretty much the runaway bride. But her friendship with NeNe is done, once again. This time they fell out over Kenya coming to Cynthia’s party. Basically, Cynthia looked shady because she and Kandi said they were going to pretend they didn’t know Kenya was coming but tonight we learn that the editing played a role in how it looked. According to Kandi, Kenya told her last minute, as in right before she was entering the party, that Kenya was coming. Kandi then passed the word on to Cynthia so that’s when Cynthia said she was just going to pretend she didn’t know Kenya was coming because she didn’t want any drama with NeNe. Kandi and Cynthia both explain that they didn’t intend it to be shady but NeNe doesn’t care. She’s pissed at them for lying—basically doing the same thing she did to Eva. Then there’s another nasty back and forth between Cynthia and NeNe with Marlo yapping in the background as well.  Finally, it’s clear that Cynthia is over it, and with NeNe and Marlo acting like Mean Girls, it’s understandable. There’s even one point where Cynthia can be heard saying, “This is not enough money.” Andy gives Cynthia and NeNe a chance to say some closing remarks as the episode winds down. Cynthia acknowledges that she may have looked crazy at the party but that she didn’t intend to hurt NeNe, and that NeNe said some hurtful things too. But Cynthia is ready to move forward since NeNe insists on being evil and bitter. NeNe decides not to address Cynthia at all. Porsha jumps in talking about how sad it is that Cynthia and NeNe are no longer friends, for the umpteenth time, and that she hopes they can get cool again. Whatevs. Finally, We close out the reunion with Porsha leading a prayer because all of them will need it, especially if they’re going to get back together to film season 12. But leave NeNe out of it. She needs a break from the show indefinitely…or forever.  RELATED POSTS ‘RHOAS11’ Reunion Recap: NeNe’s Attitude Steals The Show Again ‘RHOAS11’ Reunion Recap: NeNe Is So Nasty So Rude For Body-Shaming Pregnant Porsha

The Bachelor Recap: Hannah B. Claims Caelynn is a Lying Snake

If you’ve been keeping up with The Bachelor Spoilers , you know Colton’s final choice. But he made a lot of decisions before the finale. On this week’s episode of The Bachelor , some drama between two of Colton’s contestants left the leading man unsure of whom to believe. And that only how the episode began … and ended. For the week’s first group date, the women are costumed as swashbuckling pirates. Katie, Heather, Hannah B., Courtney, Kirpa, Tracy, Demi, and Caelynn all got into costume. Viewers did get a kick out of hearing them all refer to Colton as “captain” for the evening. While the purpose is not explained, maybe it gave Caelynn — Miss North Carolina 2018 — a home field advantage. NC’s coast was Blackbeard’s favorite haunt, and Caelynn certainly caught Colton’s eye. Hannah Brown, on the other hand, did not love seeing him give her rival all of that attention. Demi Burnett was living her best life as a pirate and really got into the role. “The job of a pirate is to steal and I’m here to steal Colton’s heart,” Demi announced. She joked: “I don’t want to be another one of those yo-ho-hos.” Hannah B, on the other hand, felt her insecurities come out. “It’s a little frustrating to watch Caelynn engage with Colton right in front of me,” Hannah admitted. Hannah Brown is Miss Alabama, and watching Miss North Carolina excel did not sit well with her. “I’m trying my hardest to not get upset but then Caelynn is just everywhere,” Hannah lamented. “I didn’t come here to compete in another pageant,” she said. “Honestly, this sucks.” Whatever that pirate contest was, Caelynn won it, and Colton gave her a congratulatory kiss. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” Hannah bemoaned. “It’s not easy to see Caelynn moving forward with Colton.” “It brings out all of my insecurities and I start to spiral,” she admitted. “If Colton knew the truth about Caelynn,” Hannah B guessed. “I think he would feel differently about her.” Hannah B decided to confront Colton about Caelynn during the cocktail portion of their date. Note to all The Bachelor hopefuls: trying to undercut your competition always, always makes you look like the bad guy. “I was just in a high-stress situation with her and it was like the most hostile environment I’ve ever been in,” she told Colton. She continued: “It’s hard because it’s like, if that’s what you want, you don’t want me.” Perhaps due to how flustered and insecure she felt, Hannah B didn’t really communicate very well with Colton. This left him feeling frustrated and perhaps a little annoyed — she actually had to ask him for a kiss at the end of their chat. Yikes. To make matters worse for Hannah B, Colton then made a beeline for Caelynn to hear her side of the story. Caelynn was blindsided and cried. She confessed to Colton that she hadn’t planned on addressing her past at that time. So Colton presented her with the Group Date Rose. “I want you to know that I like you a lot,” Colton assured Caelynn. “And it’s about our time together and our connection.” Then there was Colton’s one-on-one date with Elyse. Their date isn’t exactly romantic — a lot of viewers were reminded of babysitting, even if it’s for a great cause. Colton does charity work with kids who are hospitalized, and he and Elyse go on some fair rides with ten children. Elyse does praise that seeing Colton be so good with kids is “the sexiest thing ever.” She also opens up about her life, and the two of them get to bond despite their (gasp) 5-year age gap. Elyse gets the rose. For the second group date, Colton once again has his heaving man-bosom on display. Tayshia, Nina, Catherine, Sydney, Onyeka, Cassie, Nicole, and Caitlin join him for a workout class. On the one hand, most people would rather be pirates than sweat in front of the guy they’re dating and the viewers at home. On the other hand, Colton’s tatas are out as a feast for their eyes. That’s fair. “We pull up and Colton is waiting for us topless,” Caitlin said. “Which is a really nice sight.” Terry Crews, who is always a delight, and his wife Rebecca were there to help Colton in his quest to identify his “strong woman.” We joked about Caelynn having an advantage, but with this group date, some women quickly stood out from the rest. Sydney is a dancer, Onyeka is a track star, and Catherine knows karate. Onyeka gets the “strongest woman” trophy. Then it’s time for the cocktail portion and to lounge by the pool. “I feel like I’ve kind of been slipping behind a little bit,” Caitlin admitted. “Because we got sent home on the last group date.” But when she actually gets some one-on-one time with Colton, she falters. He asks her what she’s looking for in a man, and she says someone who’s happy to have a silly evening with her and her friends. Colton just about has an out-of-body experience out of sheer boredom with her answer. Then, Caitlin confesses that her life has been pretty chill so far, so she doesn’t have anything major to spill to him. Colton goes ahead and sends her home because he doesn’t feel much of a spark. The Caelynn drama with Hannah Brown isn’t over, though. Colton speaks to both women, who both paint unflattering (but vague) portraits of their former frenemies. “I feel like I’m going around and round in circles,” Colton said. “I don’t know what to believe.” “I’m frustrated because I still don’t understand this,” he confesses to an unseen producer. “The last thing I wanted to do today was spend all day at the pool party talking about this,” he said. “I’m not getting clarity at all.” Since Caelynn had received the group date rose, Hannah B gets a rose. Bri, Catherine, and Nina get sent home. View Slideshow: The Bachelor Spoilers: Colton’s Choice, Stunning Final Rose Aftermath REVEALED! [Updated]

Big Brother Recap: Who Won Season 20?

Big Brother brought the jurors together one final time to crown a winner Wednesday night, but did the right person win?  There was one last blindside, a surprise engagement and one final “I’m Julie Chen Moonves,” and it all resulted in one of the best finales for this veteran CBS reality series yet.  When the episode got underway, the first part of the final HOH played out, but Tyler was battling with whether to follow through on his plan to throw this part.  When JC fell to the ground, it was time for Tyler to do his thing. However, he decided against it in that final moment, and Kaycee fell next.  “This is the #1 biggest dream of my entire life,” Tyler explained of his decision to viewers, confirming there was no mistake.  He worried that Kaycee was going to take it personally and that it would come back to bite him. Kaycee was annoyed but knew she needed to keep it together for part two.  She and JC went to battle for the second heat of the competition, and Kaycee secured the win. That meant she got to face Tyler in part three.  Would she go back on her word if she won? We then caught up with the jurors who had the typical meeting with Dr. Will to decide who was worthy of winning the game.  Angela joined them and quickly got to work to expose Kaycee as a rider of Tyler’s coattails, and that she only won when she needed to. “Are you saying this because you’re secretly in a showmance with Tyler?” Bayliegh wondered, lapping up the role of the bitter juror because she ruined her own game.  Then the unthinkable happened:  Rockstar seemed to think that JC was a deserving finalist because he got so far with his manipulation skills. Be that as it may, he failed to win all but one competition.  While there was a lot of back and forth, the editing made it seem like there was a case for all three to win. That’s pretty laughable, but whatever.  The final HOH competition came to a close with Kaycee narrowly beating Tyler in the battle to recall memorable events from the season.  Kaycee then got to choose whether to take Tyler of JC out of the running. To the surprise of nobody, she stuck with her ride-or-die despite his lie earlier.  After JC’s unsurprising elimination, the jury got to ask questions about the gameplay of the finalists. Tyler had a way with his words and managed to get everyone nodding.  Kaycee floundered, and it seemed like all hope was lost for her.  Before we learned who won, Julie wanted to find out which showmances were going to be a thing on the outside.  Haleigh and Fessy, and Tyler and Angela are a go, but Swaggy and Bayliegh opted to take their romance to the next level.  Swaggy clung to his final minute of fame by proposing to Bayliegh, the girl who he spent 23 days with inside a house.  Bayliegh accepted the proposal.  How did the final vote pan out? Here are the results: JC votes for Tyler Angela votes for Tyler Sam votes for Kaycee Brett votes for Tyler Haleigh votes for Tyler Scottie votes for Kaycee Faysal votes for Kaycee Rockstar votes for Kaycee Bayleigh votes for Kaycee There were tears, cheers and more tears as Kaycee won by a vote of 5-4.  But who won America’s Favorite Player?  That honor went to… Tyler! Don’t Touch My Hair! Lupita Nyong’o Calls Out Magazine For Editing Her Edges And Photoshopping Her A Fade

Lupita Nyong’o Calls Out Magazine For Editing Her Hair Just like Solange , Lupita isn’t here for magazines deciding what Black hair “should” look like. The award-winning actress did a recent cover shoot for Grazia magazine, with her curls pulled back into a puff-ponytail. However come print time, her wavy roots had been photoshopped smooth, and for whatever reason, the true length of her hair had been edited away. Lupita wasn’t shy about showing the source shots, and letting the mag know she didn’t appreciate them reimagining what her hair looked like… As I have made clear so often in the past with every fiber of my being, I embrace my natural heritage and despite having grown up thinking light skin and straight, silky hair were the standards of beauty, I now know that my dark skin and kinky, coily hair are beautiful too. Being featured on the cover of a magazine fulfills me as it is an opportunity to show other dark, kinky-haired people, and particularly our children, that they are beautiful just the way they are. I am disappointed that @graziauk invited me to be on their cover and then edited out and smoothed my hair to fit their notion of what beautiful hair looks like. Had I been consulted, I would have explained that I cannot support or condone the omission of what is my native heritage with the intention that they appreciate that there is still a very long way to go to combat the unconscious prejudice against black women’s complexion, hair style and texture. #dtmh SMH, when will these mags just let Black hair be? Little People, Big World: Filming New Season, Featuring Baby Jackson!

Season 12 of Little People, Big World ended with the birth of Tori and Zach Roloff’s son, Jackson . It was a hugely emotional event and, obviously, fans and viewers adore Jackson almost as much as his family does. Thanks to a sneak peek offered up by Tori Roloff, it now looks like we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in Season 13. Because they’ve started filming again. Thanks to improvements in technology, baby pictures may be way, way more common now than they used to be. That doesn’t make them any less precious or any less treasured. (Abundance doesn’t always depreciate the value, folks — each baby picture is unique; we’re not talking about sportsball cards, here) In fact, something incredibly special about photos these days is that you can share them with the world. Tori Roloff isn’t hiding Jackson away from fans and viewers. Remember this super cute photo of Jackson Roloff at 3 months ? Admittedly, if we were going to do a photo surrounded by numbers like that, we’d have done them like a clock. Jackson’s a little too young to cooperate by holding his hand pointed to the “3” as if it were the hand of a clock, but whatever. We can dream. She was going for a rectangular image, here, and the photo is super adorable so we’ll stop nitpickily musing about the photo that might have been. (Babies are cute, okay? They’re so precious and soft and every experience is brand new for them) Well, Tori shared a short video to her Instagram story. First, we get to see the very latest photo of Jackson: For a split second, Tori panned her phone over to show that cameras were set up. We’re talking about a TV crew. Which probably means that she’s filming Season 13 of Little People, Big World . And that she’s bringing Jackson along. Now, maybe she was just bringing him along because she’s his mom. Like, she appears on camera for what’s essentially a confessional moment and Jackson’s there because he likes being in his mom’s presence and she can comfort him if he needs anything. But many fans are very hopeful that they’ll get to see a lot more of Jackson and even get to, within reason, watch him grow up. Realistically, we don’t think that they’re going to hide Jackson from the cameras. He’s a baby, so he’s going to be around his parents and also his grandparents, obviously. ( Jackson and his grandma take cute pictures together) Editing him out sounds pointless and a like a total pain (just as, it’s been said, editing family black sheep Jacob Roloff out of some scenes from Molly’s wedding has been less than fun). Recently, there’s been hope that Jacob Roloff might return to the show . He’s apparently done some growing up since he raged against his family’s series. Sometimes things like a wedding and becoming an uncle can change a person. (He’s about to be even more of an uncle, as Audrey Roloff is due soon — at the end of August!) Between Season 13 filming and the very real possibility of Jackson getting plenty of screentime, fans of Little People, Big World have a lot to look forward to.
