By Mawuse Ziegbe Kid Cudi Photo: Getty Images Kid Cudi returned to Twitter just a day ago, but he wasted no time updating his followers about a slew of projects he’s cooking up for 2011. The Cleveland MC tweeted his first missives around 3 p.m. Wednesday, explaining , “I really only got back on twitter becuz i heard will smith tweeted about a fresh prince reunion and i wanted to post my response to that …” However, tweets he typed out hours later reveal Cudder has more than just possible Will Smith collabos on his mind. Cudi, who just dropped his sophomore set Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager in November, said he’s trying to drop his third album midway through the year — a commitment similar to a promise G.O.O.D. Music honcho Kanye West tweeted Sunday. “Pushing for a summer release of the wizard album. i produce and play guitar on everything with my main man @dotdagenius. he’s learnin bass,” Cudi wrote about re-teaming with the producer who crafted his Grammy-nominated smash “Day ‘n’ Nite.” Cudi outlined the vibe of the forthcoming album, saying the effort will be a sonic departure from his hip-hop roots. “Wizard is a rock album, no raps, just singing. brand new thing. flavor,” he revealed . The set won’t be scrubbed completely free of Cudi’s early swagger, though. The “Pursuit of Happiness” MC added that one of his underground cult hits that has been making the rounds for about two years will make the record. “Dose of dopeness however will be on the wizard album as a bonus jam. bout f—in time aye.” In addition to releasing a new mixtape called A Man Named Scott , his movie “Maniac,” which is set to co-star indie MC Cage and is directed by “Transformers” star and hip-hop buff Shia LaBeouf, , should be available by the end of 2011. “The maniac film will b released later this year. cage, shia and i really want everything just right, and i need the proper time for scoring,” he explained . “The edit must be epic.” Cudi also dished that he’s been tinkering on Jay-Z and West’s collaborative album, Watch the Throne, (“Workin on some jay and ye sh–“) and said he starts production on second season of his HBO show “How to Make It in America” in March. Game’s Brake Lights Tape Is ‘Like A Real Album,’ DJ Skee Says

‘This time around, it’s a lot higher [quality],’ Skee tells Mixtape Daily. By Shaheem Reid DJ Skee Photo: MTV News The O.D.: A Mixtape Daily Exclusive If you’ve been following the Game’s new Twitter page, you’ll see that his fans have given resounding kudos to his new mixtape, Brake Lights. The project was produced by Cool & Dre and hosted by DJ Skee and was released at midnight Tuesday online. “Reason we named it Brake Lights is because it’s something you don’t see if you’re following us often — we don’t stop,” Skee said from his SkeeTV headquarters. “We just had to talk about it. Plus we just did The R.E.D. Album with Game. The biggest difference between this and The Red Room [mixtape] is, I think, the quality of records. This time around, it’s a lot higher. We got some crazy features, more original stuff. It’s not really any freestyles over other people’s beats. It’s all original music. So it’s really like a real album. We’re going back to those classic Game/ DJ Skee street-album days. It’s gonna be pretty crazy.” Included on the tape is “Street Riders,” on which guest MC Nas references Pharrell Williams by name and throws some subliminals at 50 Cent. “I showed n—as their first Bentley/ How the f— I window shop?” he raps. “We’ve actually had it done forever,” Skee said. “It was actually supposed to be on the Doctor’s Advocate album. It didn’t make it for one reason or another. There’s been a bunch of different reincarnations of the song. … I actually have eight different versions of the song. Game, he went back in. He said, ‘It’s time to do it.’ Cool & Dre did the beat. So we was like, ‘Let’s throw it on the mixtape. It’s probably never going to come out other than that.’ I played a snippet of it on the radio years ago, and fans have been going crazy since then. We threw that on. Game did two new verses. He wanted to make it more relevant for today. You have a crazy Nas verse. Akon kills the hook. It’s one of the craziest, darkest Cool & Dre beats. It’s one of my favorite Game records ever. So it’s finally out, Brake Lights, it’s official.” The Compton star brings in another West Coast giant on “Trading Places.” “It’s the second song on the mixtape,” Skee described. “The beat, when I heard it, it just sounded like something different. Game and Snoop Dogg on a record. West Coast — what more could you want?” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines . Related Videos Mixtape Daily: Drake, Bun B

Trey Songz Says ‘Bottoms Up’ Is ‘Heightened’ By ‘Funhouse’ Video

Nicki Minaj ‘comes in and she kills it,’ singer says about guest MC. By Mawuse Ziegbe Trey Songz Photo: MTV News Trey Songz’s latest track, “Bottoms Up,” may be about knocking back some drinks at the bar, but the singer said the accompanying video is anything but the typical bottle-popping scene. Instead of taking inspiration solely from the song’s party-startin’ lyrics, Songz said that he’s stepping out of the box when it comes to the track’s visuals. ” ‘Bottoms Up,’ I feel, is a very creative video. [It’s] different from the norm, different than what I feel is expected of me and anything I’ve shot for that matter,” he told MTV News on the set of the video. “[Director] Anthony [Mandler] used a lot of different shooting techniques and I think it heightens whatever it is that the song has already. The drive, the vigor, the club anthem, the energy in the record is definitely heightened with this video.” Songz broke down the concept of the upcoming “Bottoms Up” video — the first single from Passion, Pain & Pleasure — which, despite the song’s club-friendly appeal, resembles a surreal circus versus a crowded bar. “It’s as if I’m walking through some kind of funhouse, filled with women and different seductive things,” Songz said. The crooner added that Mandler works some visual magic to get the carnival-esque theme just right. “There’s a two-way mirror that’s a dope effect that he uses. And the lighting shows, and then you see women and then you don’t and then you see them and then you don’t.” “Bottoms Up” MC Nicki Minaj also added some dimension to the track in the form of her rapid-fire verse, and Songz said she brought the same high energy from the studio to the screen. “Nicki Minaj does an excellent job. She comes in and does exactly what I got her on the record for. She comes in and she kills it,” he gushed. “I wanted her to make the record different. I wanted her to take it to a different place and that’s exactly what she did. Even in the video, she made a major contribution … from her hair to her outfits to the way she raps and how theatrical she is in her delivery.” Are you excited to see what Trey and Nicki do onscreen for “Bottoms Up”? Snoop Dogg Compares Kid Cudi Video To ‘Romper Room’ Kids’ Show

‘It’s just me and him having a good time,’ Snoop says of ‘That Tree’ clip. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Matt Elias Snoop Dogg Photo: MTV News Snoop Dogg and Kid Cudi recently shot the video for their collaboration “That Tree.” The head-nodding number, produced by Diplo and featured on Snoop’s More Malice, features the Doggfather and Cudi trading verses about their favorite smoke-filled pastime. According to Snoop, the video will be “Romper Room”-like, a nod to the famed children’s television series known for its organized-yet-free-for-all episodes. “It’s kind of hard to explain,” Snoop told MTV News about the concept. “It’s like ‘Romper Room.’ It’s kiddish. It’s really fun. Me and him like to have fun, so we wanted the video to depict that. It’s not a real serious video. There’s no champagne room. There’s no money being thrown or a bunch of girls. It’s just me and him having a good time.” The song is one of the additions Snoop’s re-released of ,i> Malice N Wonderland . The More Malice set includes the Cudi-assisted “That Tree,” the “I Wanna Rock” G-mix featuring Jay-Z and the movie version of “Malice N Wonderland.” The West Coast rapper spoke with MTV News last week and explained his decision to repackage his latest project with a film. “I like to be very creative,” he explained. “I like to give people all of Snoop Dogg when I give them an album. I felt like on the [ Malice N Wonderland ] record, I didn’t give all of Snoop Dogg like I really could have. I had to make the record be about 12 songs and conceptually stick to the script as opposed to what I normally do with 20 to 21 songs on the album and overdose people. So what I did [on More Malice ] was, I pulled back from the music and put a little more thought in the creative side as far as the visual aspects. Am I gonna just make one video and say, ‘This is the single,’ and hope that people attract to it? Or was I gonna make a mini-movie to make people understand the philosophy behind this Malice N Wonderland project, and that’s what I was on.” What do think about Snoop Dogg’s video idea? Sarah Palin and her association with NAR. "Everyone but Christians understands that Jesus was nonviolent." Mahatma Gandhi.

Researcher Rachel Tabachnick, reported regarding NAR videos that they “demonstrate the taking control of communities and nations through large networks of ‘prayer warriors’ whose spiritual warfare is used to expel and destroy the demons that cause societal ills. Once the territorial demons, witches, and generational curses are removed, the ‘born-again’ Christians in the videos take control of society.” “The movement’s notion of “spiritual warfare” has spread from the California suburbs to an East-Coast inner city, and has impacted policy decisions in the developing world. Movement operatives are well-connected enough to have testified before Congress and to have received millions of dollars in government abstinence-only sex-education grants. Leaders in the NAR movement refer to themselves as ‘apostles.’”[1] When Palin was 24, she joined a spiritual warfare network. Rachel Tabachnick, continues: “These communication networks allow apostles to disseminate new prophecy to their ‘prayer warriors.’ During the presidential election this included prophecies about Palin, including one in which Glazier described a vision that Palin would take the ‘mantle’ of leadership after a period of national mourning, apparently following John McCain’s demise. “The first Transformation film so impressed pastors in Wasilla, Alaska, that they contacted some of the religious leaders featured in the movie including Thomas Muthee, who was shown driving a witch out of Kiambu, Kenya. Wasilla Assembly of God developed an ongoing relationship with Muthee and a 2005 church video shows him anointing Palin. Unfortunately the press picked up on the witch part of the story, and not the more important fact that Palin has ties to top leaders of the New Apostolic Reformation. “I believe this movement’s threat to separation of church and state is greater than some of the more overtly theocratic movements of the religious right. The inclusion of women and all races in leadership roles, and their enthusiastic sponsorship of social services conflicts with a popular notion about religious fundamentalism. Despite their radical strategies, leaders in the movement have been labeled in the press as moderate…a ‘new evangelical.’ I have written on this topic a number of times in the past and believe it is very important and frightening information that should be read and understood by as many people as possible. This is a very well written and researched post that will have the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end. Please click the title to read the entire article. My friend Leah Burton, from “God’s Own Party”, should have returned from her speaking engagement and be back at the keyboard in the next day or so, and I trust she will have much to add on this topic as well.
