Vick cleared to play in week 3 of regular NFL season

Disgraced quarterback Michael Vick has been cleared to play in Philadelphia’s third game of the 2009 regular season, National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell announced. Goodell said on Thursday the 29-year-old Eagles quarterback can suit up when Philadelphia hosts Kansas City September 27 at Lincoln Financial Field. Vick will miss the team’s opening game at Carolina and another at home against New Orleans

Goodell sees NFL with uncapped 2010 season

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell foresees an uncapped 2010 season as the league and the players’ union negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. Goodell said Thursday that owners are preparing for no salary cap next season, citing the lack of progress in talks with the NFLPA.

Vick Does Not have a Deal with NIKE

Despite reports of it saying it was a done deal, Mike Vick does NOT have a new deal with NIKE : A day after an official with the agency that represents Michael Vick told a crowded conference in New York City that Vick had recently re-signed with Nike [NKE 62.50 -2.20 (-3.4%) ], a Nike spokesman told CNBC that the company has no agreement with the backup Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. “Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick,” Nike spokesman Kejuan Wilkins said, in a statement.
