Margaret Groening Dies; Real-Life Marge Simpson Inspiration Was 94

Margaret Groening’s death was announced via an obituary in The Oregonian . She passed away in her sleep back on April 22, according to the publication. Many Groening family details made their way into The Simpsons , among them his mother’s maiden name, Wiggum, and his father’s name Homer. Homer Groening, a World War II veteran and cartoonist, died in 1996. In addition to Matt, Margaret is also survived by two daughters … Lisa and Maggie. According to her obituary, Margaret taught high school English before starting a family and was a talented needlework artist. It’s unclear if she went by Marge. So You Think You Can Dance Auditions: ‘Marge Simpson’ Mania

Emergency advice: Now’s a good time to start watching So You Think You Can Dance if you haven’t. After lackluster seasons of American Idol and Project Runway , quality reality programming is making a zesty comeback in the form of Cat Deeley’s danceoff. Stellar judging, magnetic contestants, and now, a sloppy “Marge Simpson” bun on dancer Nicole Knudson are setting this show apart. We’re revisiting last night’s three greatest moments — Nicole’s startling audition (and zany body), the return of two contestants who were eliminated for contractual reasons last year, and the reemergence of an inspiring young robot.

Playboy 3D Centerfold Issue with Playmate Hope Dworacyzk

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Playboy readers are going to need glasses for a close look at the upcoming issue of the magazine — 3-D glasses. You can see the Playboy 3D Centerfold Issue with Playmate Hope Dworacyzk via the links The centerfold picture in the June edition of Playboy will be in 3-D, Playboy spokeswoman Theresa Hennessey said Tuesday. “It’s definitely eye-popping,” Hennessey said of the 3-D centerfold featuring 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworacyzk . ( Hope Dworacyzk) “There’s a wine glass that she’s holding and when you stand back with the glasses on that comes right out at you,” the spokeswoman told AFP. “You really feel like you’re, so to speak, in the pictorial with her.” A pair of 3-D glasses like those that helped the film “Avatar” shatter box office records will be included with the issue of the magazine which hits US newsstands on Friday. Playboy’s first 3-D centerfold (with Hope Dworacyzk) comes about six months after the magazine ran a photo spread featuring a cartoon character — a scantily clad Marge Simpson from the hit television show “The Simpsons.” “We’re constantly trying to do new creative, innovative things to engage our readers,” Hennessey said. “But I don’t think we’ll be having 3-D centerfolds in every issue.” (like Hope Dworacyzk) Playboy founder Hugh Hefner said he “wanted to create a 3-D pictorial for the very first issue of Playboy, but didn’t have enough money to include the 3-D glasses. “I think Playboy fans will enjoy seeing our Playmate of the Year’s true form,” Hefner added in a statement.
