Mike Sorrentino: FINALLY Getting Released From Prison?!

Back on January 15, Mike Sorrentino turned himself over to authorities to begin serving an eight-month sentence for tax evasion. At the time of his conviction, Mike’s loved ones were vocal in their belief felt that the judge in his case had decided to “make an example” of the Jersey Shore star by doling out an unusually harsh punishment. Now, many feel prison authorities are doing the same by holding Sorrentino for the entirety of his sentence, which is unusual for well-behaved, first-time offenders, particularly in cases of non-violent crimes. (While it’s true that federal convicts generally serve a greater portion of their sentence than those convicted of state offenses, legal experts expected the 37-year-old to be released in early August.) Whatever the reason, Mike has served the vast majority of his sentence. But now, the darkest chapter of his life is soon to come to an end, and insiders say he’s gearing to be released as early as this weekend. And naturally, his family, friends, and Shore housemates will be on hand for a party in the Sitch’s honor. “Everyone’s planning on seeing him right away and there’s a big celebration being planned for when he gets out with all of his family and friends,” one insider tells Hollywood Life. Of course, no one has missed Mike more than his wife, Lauren Pesce. Sorrentino and Pesce were married in November but only got to enjoy a few weeks of married life before he was forced to begin his sentence. “Lauren is so excited to have Mike back with her full-time,” says the source. “She’s missed him terribly, but has been doing great. They’ve both been doing the best they can while Mike is away,” the insider adds. “The couple plans to spend a lot of time together and just be with one another since they had to be apart right after getting married.” Though he was locked up while the episode was filming, Mike made a phone cameo on Thursday night’s episode of Jersey Shore . He promised Lauren that they would get down to the business of making “a million babies” when he gets released, and it seems that’s still the plan. “They absolutely want to have a baby sooner rather than later,” says the source. Insiders say Mike will be released during the day, and after a 24-hour period of “supervised release,” he’ll take up residence in a halfway house. While Sorrentino has never denied committing the crimes of which he was accused, he’s paid his debt to society, and his transformation over the past two years has been truly remarkable to witness. We wish him all the best in his new life as a free man. View Slideshow: Mike Sorrentino in Prison: Star’s Sad Farewell to Freedom, New Life Behind Bars, Conjugal Visit “Situation” Revealed [UPDATED]

Chris March Dies; Project Runway Finalist Was 56

Very sad news today out of the reality television universe: Chris March, a popular contestant who competed on Season 4 of Project Runway, died on Thursday of a heart attack. He was 56 years old. Bravo personality and producer Andy Cohen mourned the loss of March in a heartfelt Instagram post, which read a follows: “This is how I’m going to remember Chris March, dressed as Lisa Vanderpump as I wear a Giggy costume he made for one of our first Halloween specials. Chris was a finalist on Season 4 of Project Runway. He designed for everyone from Beyoncé, Gaga, Madonna, Meryl, Prince and many legendary downtown drag queens (And Sonja Morgan!). He had a big booming laugh; he was a joy and delight. #RIP. According to TMZ, which broke this tragic news, March had been in and out of the hospital for the past year or so. He had been battling some pretty serious health problems — and yet the fatal heart attack came as a surprise to his doctors and loved ones. He was even designing dresses all the way up until the end. Along with making it to the finals on Season 4, March also appeared on Project Runway All Stars and had his own show on Bravo called “Mad Fashion.” Moreover, he made cameos on The Real Housewives of New York City, helping find elaborate costumes for Sonja Morgan. In 2017, March suffered an almost-fatal fall in his apartment that left him in a coma for the subsequent two months. A GoFundMe was launched on the reality star’s behalf to help offset the monetary challenges of his ongoing medical treatments. After this hospitalization, March entered a nursing facility. “I came close to death many times — they called my family and they were told if they wanted to say goodbye to come right away,” he said of the major mishap. Throughout his impressive career, March designed for Madonna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Coolidge, Beyonce and Meryl Streep. He was responsible for the latter’s 2010 Golden Globe and Oscars ensembles. Just a few months ago, March shared an update on his health, revealing he had “run into several setbacks in my recovery.” As he described on the GoFundMe: “I am also in need of leg braces, specialized physical therapy, a hearing aid, and a new living arrangement. “Where I am now is unbearable and makes me anxious and depressed every day. I have considered suicide many times. I have tried my best to make strides.” March’s supporters raised nearly $60,000 of his $100,000 goal after his accident. We send our condolences to Chris March’s friends, family members and loved ones. May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: The Most Shocking Reality Star Deaths: Gone, But Not Forgotten

Tonight is the fashion reality tv that we’ve been waiting for: the return of Project Runway. Season 17 starts tonight at 8PM and they are coming with some changes that extend beyond just a new network. According to Nina Garcia, Project Runway Judge since Season 1 and Editor In Chief of Elle Magazine , “this is the most inclusive season, it’s the most diverse season we’ve ever had from the judges to the models to the contestants.” Source: Noam Galai / Getty Though Tim Gunn is noticeably absent, they have added former Teen Vogue Editor In Chief, Elaine Welteroth as a judge and Karlie Kloss as the host. What to expect from Welteroth? “I’m fair. I tell it like it is. I’m not afraid to be honest and critical, that’s what we’re there to do. I’m an Editor by nature, by training.” Project Runway has been a platform to introduce up and coming designers to the world and providing them with valuable feedback and skills needed in the retail world. The most successful from the series in undoubtedly Christian Siriano, who won Season 4, and has returned to the show as a judge for Season 17. Siriano promises that the season is going to be “bold, exciting and controversial”. He also added, “I think people are going to be really inspired!” For Season 17, the judges include Nina Garcia, Christian Siriano, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth. Model Karlie Kloss is the Executive Producer and Host of the show, taking over for Tim Gunn. Even though they are judges, they get very invested in the contestants. Welteroth revealed on the carpet, “I fall in love with them and I get a little emotional. We’re really in it. We’re invested in it. We want to see these guys win!” In the age of the Internet, a platform and a little luck, this opportunity can turn a burgeoning fashion designer into a multi-million dollar brand (it happened for Siriano). Welteroth stated, “We want to help cultivate the best next generation of designers and I think there’s a few of them here that will go on to do really amazing things.” Tune into Project Runway Season 17 tonight, March 14th, at 8PM. Exclusive: Helen Castillo Gives Blue Man Group A Whole New Look With THIS 90’s Inspired Unisex Jumpsuit

Source: Getty / Getty Everyone loves a bit of 90’s nostalgia — especially when it’s expressed through fashion. Project Runway All Star Helen Castillo has a deep love for both fashion and the 90’s , so who would be a better fit than her to give a legendary trio like the Blue Man Group a makeover. Helen took her love of fashion from the beloved era and blended it with the Group’s mission to “dare to live in full color” and created a limited edition unisex jumpsuit which she unveiled during New York Fashion Week. Source: Getty / Getty We spoke to Helen about her unexpected collaboration and she revealed , “After seeing Blue Man Group live in New York City, I was inspired by and particularly drawn to the overall aesthetic of the theatre and the industrial elements of the stage. Of course, Blue Man Group is an iconic part of New York City’s performance art history and a household name I grew up with. All of this, coupled with how the Blue Man Group originated in the 90’s, which is trending right now in fashion, felt like the perfect time to collaborate together on a limited edition, unisex garment.” Source: Getty / Getty But why a jumpsuit, you ask? Helen continued , “I knew I wanted the garment to be unisex, utilitarian and to create a sort of unity between the Blue Man Group and the audience. I love that with this Blue Man Group-inspired jumpsuit, I am helping to give fans a tangible piece of the show experience and a nod to 90’s trends with the color blocking of the collar, tuxedo stripe and pocket flaps. I’ve also wanted to dabble in menswear and have been recently researching more tailoring techniques, so this was the perfect opportunity to create a unisex piece that was not only trendy but iconic yet fresh and familiar. The limited edition Blue Man Group-inspired jumpsuit will be available online on my website, designerhelen.com, beginning in September!” Source: Getty / Getty What’s even more exciting than designing something for the iconic group? Being the one to break their NYFW hiatus. Helen added, “ This is also the first time in 27 years that Blue Man Group is participating in Fashion Week and they will be attending my show on September 9th.” Oh, and if you haven’t seen the Blue Men live yet — what are you waiting for? Helen says her favorite part of the show is when “ the Blue Men grab an audience member, dress them in a coverall jumpsuit, and swing them against a canvas after being covered in paint. It’s so unexpected and served as the inspiration for my limited edition garment. I created a coverall jumpsuit sourced from lightweight cotton canvas material to embody the literal canvas of the performance piece and then added hints of the iconic Blue Men blue for details on my design. The idea of integrating an audience member into their performance and dressing him to be part of their ‘Group’ inspired me to make a piece that would almost leave a lasting mark as a ‘uniform’ for both the Blue Man Group and the audience to have a connection outside of the show. ” Head over to designerhelen.com to check out the exclusive piece. 1-2 Combo: Seal Apologizes To Oprah And Tells Stacey Dash Sashay Away Back Into Her Sunken Place

WENN.com Seal Insists He Didn’t Mean To Insult Oprah With His Weinstein Meme Seal was under fire on Thursday for a post he made about Oprah, implying that she cannot be a “Me Too” advocate after years of friendship with Harvey Weinstein. Though many people have been trying to use old pictures of (insert celebrity here) with Weinstein against them, nobody can say that those old friends knew anything about what the powerful producer was doing to various women–especially someone like Oprah, so powerful herself she wouldn’t have been subjected to any of it. Even worse for Seal, he was further labeled as a hypocrite since his ex-wife Heidi Klum was also photographed multiple times with Weinstein, who was a producer for her show  Project Runway .   Now, unsurprisingly, Seal is backtracking and apologizing for what he posted about Oprah and insisting he has a great deal of respect for the mogul. The singer explains that he only used the meme for the actual message itself, and not to take shots at her in particular. Seal says in a video posted to his Facebook page, “What I re-posted was not an attack on Oprah at all…She just happened to be the person photographed with the pig in the picture. What I re-posted was commentary on the hypocritical and double-standard nature and behavior of Hollywood.”   The “Kiss From A Rose” singer also took the opportunity to stick to to Stacey Dash and let her know he isn’t okay with her tweeting articles about him and trying to prove a point. He fired at the Fox News commentator, “Stacey Dash, keep my name out of your mouth. Do not retweet, re-quote anything I said in order to reinforce your self-hating agenda. You live in the Sunken Place.” Can’t really win people over any more than loving on Oprah and hating on Stacey Dash, right?

Wendy Pepper Dies; Former Project Runway Contestant Was 53

Wendy Pepper, a memorable contestant who competed on the very first season of Project Runway, has passed away. She was 53 years old. According to The Washington Post, the reality star – whose real name was  Anne Eustis Pepper Stewart – died peacefully on Sunday surrounded by her family members and loved ones. The cause of her death was not revealed in the newspaper’s obituary. But here is what a portion of the memorial article said: A finalist on season one of Project Runway, Wendy designed and hand-sewed exceptionally beautiful clothes for children and adults. She was a chef, a writer, and a life-long entrepreneur. Her wit and humor were unmatched, as was her generosity of spirit. Wendy is survived by her parents, Anne Livingston Emmet of Washington and Charles Willing Pepper of Palm Beach, FL; her loving daughter, Finley M. Stewart, of Middleburg, VA; her brothers Wing Pepper, Stacy Lloyd and Thomas Lloyd; her sister, Edith Pepper Goltra; and many adoring nieces and nephews. Pepper advanced to the finals at Fashion Week and ultimately came in third on the opening Project Runway season. While on the program, she won numerous challenges, including the change to have one of her designs sold at Banana Republic and the opportunity to design Nancy O’Dell’s Grammy dress. She was a fan favorite for sure. Along with the inaugural run of Project Runway, Pepper also made an appearance during the second season of Project Runway All Stars, which aired in 2012 and 2013. Moreover, she appeared on a pair of other Bravo reality shows: Celebrity Poker Showdown and Battle of the Network Reality Stars. The late chef and designer was born in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Potomac School, the Madeira School, and the University of Washington.  Said Pepper in a Project Runway All Star video many years ago: “I realized I was a designer when I was living in Nepal. “Dyeing some yarn, I suddenly turned to these people that I was living with and I started to drape the yarn. Oh my gosh, this is so much fun, I am creating this whole sort of experience with these women. For me, fashion is communication…That’s when I knew this was my life’s work.” She also said Project Runway taught her that “if you really want to succeed, you’ve gotta be willing to throw yourself into the arena.” Pepper will be laid to rest at a Georgetown church on December 1. May she rest in peace. View Slideshow: 27 Reality Stars Who Died Way Too Young
