Making Kourtney cry one, two or a million times [was the most disturbing thing I’ve done on camera]. I’m not claiming I’m not an a–hole at all, I’m just saying, I definitely have some a–hole tendencies.” Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick on Oprah Kourtney went on to say how proud she is off Scott, how great a father he is to Mason and how therapy has helped the couple overcome its problems. The interview, of course, was one of a number Winfrey conducted with the world’s most famous/least talented family. First-Timer Sells a Script

It’s always a thrill to read about some upstart, young first-time screenwriter catching a lucrative break in Hollywood with a spec script, so let’s hear it for Cormac McCarthy! The New Mexico-based writer has reportedly sold a thriller called The Counselor , about a successful, respected lawyer who gets in over his head during a dalliance in the drug underworld. Steve Schwartz, one of the producers who made the acquisition as part of a “sizable deal,” told Deadline’s Mike Fleming : “Since McCarthy himself wrote the script, we get his own muscular prose directly, with its sexual obsessions. It’s a masculine world into which, unusually, two women intrude to play leading roles. McCarthy’s wit and humor in the dialogue make the nightmare even scarier. This may be one of McCarthy’s most disturbing and powerful works.” Fleming adds that the script is “contemporary, and set in the Southwest” — also unusual for McCarthy, who is previously best known for a slightly obscure oeuvre of novels including Blood Meridian , All the Pretty Horses , The Road and No Country For Old Men (the latter of which sparked a brief but ultimately fruitless flirtation with the film industry in 2007). The writer has even entered a representation agreement with ICM. When it rains it pours! Nice work, kid. [ Deadline ]

Michael Jackson’s Estate Is “Sickened” By Discovery Channel Autopsy Reenactment TV Show

The King of Pop’s estate is pissed to say the least about a show that claims to break down the events that ultimately killed the legendary performer, complete with a reenactment of his autopsy. Everybody wants in on that MJ money, SMH. “Your decision to even schedule this program is in shockingly bad taste, insensitve to Michael’s family, and appears motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael’s death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value,” wrote coexecutors John Branca and John McClain. The most disturbing part of the whole thing is the way Discovery marketed the show… Branca and McClain said that they were “especially outraged” by the “sickening” print advertisement for the special, which depicts a corpse on a gurney with a hand clad in a spangly white glove poking out from beneath a sheet. “The ad is debased, sick and insensitve,” they wrote. “No doubt this fictitious, morbid image is being spread worldwide even now on the Internet”–well, it is now!–”viewed by Michael’s loved ones, and even accepted as authentic by those who may be unaware that Discovery made it up.” What the hell was Discovery thinking putting a shiny glove on a corpse in an advertisment??? Did they REALLY think that was cute??? We’re sure people are gonna tune in and watch, but this is truly embarrassing to Discovery and the Jackson family. Source
