Source: Red Music / Red Music According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram , a Tarrant County court jury has sentenced Tay-K to 55 years in prison after he was found guilty of one count of murder in the death of Ethan Walker and pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated robbery. Tay-K, real name Taymor McIntyre was found guilty on the murder charge on July 19. During his trial, prosecutors referenced to his music video for “The Race,” a track which made the rapper a rising star and a controversial figure all the same. The victim, Ethan Walker, was shot and killed during a July 2016 home invasion involving Tay-K and six other individuals. Tay-K subsequently was arrested after the incident and placed on house arrest. However, he and a codefendant, Jalen Bell, cut their ankle monitors and fled authorities, leading to a nationwide manhunt. The video for “The Race” was filmed as the Arlington rapper evaded authorities. He still faces a number of charges for other crimes such as the murder of 23-year-old Mark Anthony Saldivar in a Chick-Fil-A parking lot in San Antonio as well as an assault of 65-year-old Skip Pepe in Arlington’s Cravens Park. Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty The wait is finally over. Nas ‘ latest album, The Lost Tapes 2 , has hit all streaming services. Source: Def Jam/Mass Appeal / Daniel Arsham The project features a number of top-notch and truly iconic Hip-Hop producers including Pete Rock, the Alchemist, Swizz Beats and the RZA, amongst others, hooking up the Queensbridge rapper with beats. Even Kanye West got a groove in, but the project is much better than that Nasir album from 2018 most already forgot about. This is a fact, it’s Nas’ lowest-selling album to date. At 16 tracks the album still manages to clock in at just a minute under an hour. Try not to skip to the RZA (“Tanasia,” “Highly Favored”) and Pete Rock (“The Art Of It,” “Queens Bridge Politics”) joints and enjoy the ride. Take a listen to The Lost Tapes 2 below.
Source: photo: PNP / WENN Tupac said it best: some things will never change. Even after more than a decade after their much publicized beef seemingly came to an end (least on records they did), 50 Cent continues to troll Irv Gotti and Ja Rule every single chance he gets and when video of Irv and Ja getting denied entry into S.O.B’s was released you knew Fiddy was going to have a field day with it. Taking to IG to mock and clown his fellow Queens brethren for not getting that good ol’ VIP treatment once reserved for “the world’s most talented record label, Murder Inc.,” 50 played the clips of Irv and Ja getting into an argument with security at S.O.B.’s while cracking up without a care in the world (we’re surprised no one tried to get 50 Cent to play a hyena in The Lion King with that signature cackle of his). “Let me take my shirt off cause i’ma do nothin’!” Fif commented in a clip of Ja attempting to remove his garment at the entrance of the club only to leave it on before bouncing. “Exclusive footage of nothin’! Ni**a doing nothin’!” Can’t even front, the commentary from Fif was kinda funny. Though we know that they don’t try to, Irv Gotti and Ja Rule just be making it too easy for 50 to roast them sometimes. Between stuff like this and the Fyre Festival struggle , they just give the “Heat” rapper too much ammunition. Source: Joshua Lott / Getty 4 Chicago Cops Fired For Cover-Up Of Laquan McDonald Murder For once there appears to be some justice when it comes to police who killed Black people . As we previously reported, the Chicago cop who killed Laquan McDonald , Jason Van Dyke, has been convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison. Today, we are happy to report that the cops who tried to help Van Dyke cover-up his murderous intent have all been fired from the Chicago Police Department according to NBCNews . Chicago’s superintendent of police, Eddie Johnson, in 2016 had recommended that Sgt. Stephen Franko and officers Ricardo Viramontes, Janet Mondragon and Daphne Sebastian be fired for violating rules of conduct after the shooting, according to the board’s decision released Thursday. Franko, who was the first on-scene supervisor in the October 2014 shooting, approved reports that “contained several demonstrable and known falsehoods,” including that Van Dyke was injured by the 17-year-old, who had been carrying a knife, the police board wrote in the decision. The other three officers, all of whom were on the scene, gave statements about the shooting, and the board found that “each of the three officers failed in their duty — either by outright lying or by shading the truth.” We kinda wish these cops would be charged criminally and imprisoned too because they definitely deserve it, but at LEAST they lost their jobs. Good riddance.
These shows were great at one point. But nowadays they're just circling the drain, preventing the inevitable. They should be put out of their misery before they are remembered as some of the worst shows around. SORRY NOT SORRY. 1. Grey’s Anatomy The series is entering a record-breaking 16th season at ABC, and despite a few good episodes, the series is starting to circle the drain. Ratings are starting to reflect the quality of the show, and it’s not in a good place creatively. It would be wise to bring the show to a close and allow the cast to move on to new projects. 2. Riverdale Riverdale started off well, with a coherent murder mystery. By the time Season 3 arrived, there were floating babies, teenagers running nightclubs, and underground boxing fights. It’s turned into a laughing stock and needs to end. 3. Arrow Arrow should not even be getting a short final season to wrap the story up. The writing has been abysmal on the show for around four years, and the ratings are dropping like a rock. The show could be wrapped up in a throwaway scene on one of the spinoffs. 4. Fear the Walking Dead As if killing off most of the original cast was not bad enough, the fifth season put the characters in a radiation-filled wasteland, and they made some more bad decisions. The scenes drag on for dear life as a result of the pitiful dialog. It’s time to go go. 5. Suits Suits has been circling the drain for years, to the point that nobody would care if USA Network decided to ditch the final season entirely. Nothing worth noting has happened since Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams ditched it. 6. How to Get Away with Murder This convoluted series which follows essentially the same format every single season should have been a one-season thing. The most recent fifth season was not only embarrassing to watch, but it proved the characters are getting dumber with age. View Slideshow
Source: Kevin Winter / Getty Mother of Nipsey Hussle’s Daughter Claims His Family Has Cut Her Off Since His Passing According to The Blast , the mother of Nipsey Hussle ‘s 10-year-old daughter claims his family has kicked her out of the apartment he used to rent for her and cut all ties with her. Tanisha Foster filed a motion in the guardianship case of her daughter, Emani Asghedom. She disputing the joint guardianship petition filed by Nipsey’s immediate family. “I strongly oppose both of the petitions filed by Samantha Alexandria Smith, Samiel Asghedom and Angelique Smith,” Foster says. “I am the other of Emani Asghedom and there is no good reason my rights as her mother should be taken away from me, or otherwise reduced as her mother.” Foster claims she and Nipsey “always shared the responsibility of parenting Emani.” Since his murder, she has “had to depend on the goodwill of family and friends for my food, clothing, shelter and transportation. Ermias had always provided for these needs up until his date of death.” She says the Nip “also gave me substantial sums of cash that I used for the benefit of Emani and myself.” But all that has since been cut off after his passing and his family has decided to cut ties with Foster in every aspect.
H ouston-based artist Shirley Scarpetta is ensuring that the memory of Maleah Davis is kept alive. In honor of the four-year-old, whose body was discovered in Arkansas just over a month ago, Scarpetta is creating a bronze sculpture in her likeness, CNN reported. MALEAH DAVIS: Houston artist creates sculpture of 4-year-old https://t.co/yY6DTWMRBd — ABC13 Houston (@abc13houston) June 29, 2019 The artist—who is an award-winning self-taught bronze sculptor—was inclined to create the statue because she felt deeply impacted by the horrific turn of events that took place within the case. As a mother, she couldn’t even begin to imagine having something so tragic happen to her children and was extremely upset upon hearing that Maleah lost her life. Scarpetta says Maleah serves as a representation of children who were taken from this earth too soon and that violence against children must stop; that’s the message she wanted to convey through her artistry. “It’s for all of us. Our children are so vulnerable, and people need to be reminded to leave a legacy of kindness and loving one another,” she said in a statement, according to CNN. A private donor is helping bring the sculpture to fruition and it will take about a month to complete. There aren’t any details about where the sculpture will live after its finished, but it most likely will be in Houston. Scarpetta has been showing the progression of the sculpture on Instagram. “I couldn’t get her out of my head for a while now. When this happens, I usually have an out of body experience and have to sculpt it,” she posted . “Her tragedy should not have happened. All those that have babies have a massive responsibility to protect, love, and nurture our babies.” View this post on Instagram I couldn’t get her out of my head for a while now. In the case, her mother’s fiancé Derion Vence was charged with tampering with a corpse but has evaded more serious charges. On Thursday night, hundreds of people gathered at the corner of Racine and 20th streets to remember Tyrese . Tyrese was stopped for riding a bike,” Lowe said. “And he ended up with two shots in his head. How do we know that he got two shots in his head? Because the body was released to the family. This wasn’t told to us. We saw it.” Racine Police is still investigating the case. SMH
