“Born Again” MAGA Enthusiast Kanye West Reportedly Will Take Sunday Service Nation Wide

Source: Consolidated News Pictures / Getty Rumors have been circulating that MAGA Ye wanted to open his own church , but according to reports Kanye West wants to take his Sunday Service sessions across the country. Yeezy and his traveling choir could be coming to a church or whatever venue he chooses to put religious spins on your favorite classics soon. According to Page Six , the “born again” rapper wants to take his newfound love for remixing secular songs with gospel music across the nation. Per Page Six : Kanye’s had three prayer-type sessions in three weeks. He calls them his Sunday Service. First at his California home. Just family and friends. Then Chicago where he was raised. Then Atlanta, where he was born. He plans to continue this mission across the country. The man travels with a gospel chorus. They sing at the services. He just preached in front of 1,000 congregants and told how “reconnecting with my faith has helped me be a better husband and father.” He performed with a gospel choir and sang one of his own songs. After the service, Kanye greeted comedian Chris Tucker, Jermaine Dupri, and Nelly. No pew was reserved for  Taylor Swift . This seems totally on par with West holding a service at Monster Lake Ranch in Cody. Wyoming , recently. There he covered Nirvana classics much to the delight of those who attended. I’m so sad I’m not there!!! https://t.co/f4gMlpaLSO — Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) September 22, 2019 There are still many on the fence with Ye’s foray into religion with many questioning if this is just a money grab or him genuinely wanting to spread the word. We are down with anything that helps him get his mind right, BUT we still waiting on him to denounce wearing the red hat and canoodling with the racist-in-chief, Donald Trump. This also follows the news that his rumored “gospel album” Jesus Is King is on the way. — Photo: Consolidated News Pictures / Getty

Will Smith Will Portray Harlem Crime Boss Nicky Barnes In Upcoming Netflix Film, ‘The Council’

Source: VALERIE MACON / Getty W e already got a film revolving around Frank Lucas portrayed by Denzel Washington in American Gangster , now its Nicky Barnes turn. Collider is reporting that Will Smith will take on the role of the Harlem crime boss in the Netflix film The Council . Two-time Oscar nominee @WillSmith finds his 'American Gangster,' as he's set to play notorious NYC crime boss Nicky Barnes in the Netflix movie 'The Council.' https://t.co/hYySb58gqk — Collider (@Collider) September 24, 2019 The Council will see the actor teaming up with Peter Landesman again who also wrote Concussion which Smith also starred in. Per Collider: Concussion  filmmaker  Peter Landesman wrote the script, which delves into the never-before-told story of a crime syndicate consisting of seven African-American men who ruled Harlem in the 1970s and early ’80s. This was no ordinary crime syndicate, as the men dreamed of a self-sufficient and self-policing African American city-state, funded by revolutionizing the drug game. The movie centers on the Shakespearean court intrigue between The Council’s king, Nicky Barnes, dubbed “Mr. Untouchable” by the New York Times, and all the different members — as one unlikely rising protégé emerges. The Council won’t be Barnes first time on the big screen. In 2007’s American Gangster he was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. and wasn’t too pleased that story revolved around Lucas. Barnes was arrested and sentenced to life in prison without parole. He eventually became a federal informant after he became upset with how his criminal empire was being run while he was behind bars. Barnes was released in 1998 and placed in witness protection. He passed away in 2012, information about his death wasn’t released until this year. Source: Getty Images / Getty Images Jeremy Meeks Is Playing Coy With His New Dinner Date Even though he just confirmed their relationship was going strong last week, it looks like Jeremy Meeks is setting his sights on someone other than his (ex?) fiancee Chloe Green . TMZ caught Jeremy showing up at Catch on Friday night in West Hollywood, where he opened the car door to reveal what appears to be his new love interest. Though he keeps things quiet throughout their entrance and exit from the restaurant , Jeremy does share with the paparazzi that his date for the night is Erica Peeples , an actress who’s appeared in Netflix’s True to the Game and Law and Order . They were inside the restaurant together for about three hours before leaving with one another, which is when Meeks introduced his lady to the paps. Unsurprisingly, he avoided all questions about what this meant for his relationship to the mother of his child, Chloe, who was spotted on a yacht last month getting cozy with Monte Carlo polo captain Rommy Gianni.Peep the video down below to see Jeremy in action with what could be his new girl.

Wiley Calls Drake a “Culture Vulture” Over OVO Record Deals

Source: Joseph Okpako / Getty Grime pioneer MC Wiley has taken to Twitter to call out Drake for “sh*t deals” when it comes to artists signed to OVO, again. On Wednesday (Sept 11), the British rapper, whose rivalry with Drake has been ongoing ever since he called the OVO cappo a “culture vulture” and branded them “pagans.” While it’s relatively unclear as to what triggered the one-sided bombardment, it seems Wiley has been increasingly irritated with OVO’s “sh*t record deals,” specifically in relation to the clearance of vocals on a song he did alongside dancehall artist and OVO-signed artist  Popcaan  as well as  Nicki Minaj . “I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ is going to start her family… it’s a dead-end,” Wiley wrote [then deleted] on Twitter. Wiley also criticized Drake for showing up at the concerts of numerous UK rappers, including J Hus and Dave, as well as inviting them to join him on his own tour. “@Drake suck ya mum don’t come back to England,” Wiley wrote, before claiming that OVO will “give you sh*t record deals and you’re only there to help Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.” Drake, who has previously called Wiley “goofy”, responded to his criticism earlier this year, saying: “I see a lot and I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up… how that’s not viewed as something admirable?” He continued, “But I guess people have their own outlook on [that].” Despite the criticism from Wiley, Drake and his OVO camp are slated to release an album inspired by the Netflix reboot of Top Boy , a British based crime drama that hones in on East London’s tumultuous relationship with drugs and street gangs. Some fans speculate that Drake’s announcement of his inspiration from the U.K. based drama is what fueled Wiley’s tangent. Since his Twitter rant, Wiley has revealed his reason for taking shots at Drake. During an interview with   1Xtra Breakfast Show With Dotty  on Thursday, Wiley states that it’s Drake’s selfishness in business that has led to his disdain with Toronto rapper. “I didn’t need Drake to let me know that  Top Boy is sick,” Wiley said. “They didn’t come to us” when asked why he and other grime pioneers didn’t step in to revive the series themselves. Can’t you see what people do out here? The truth is he’s just a pagan. He knows it. And if I say it, he can’t say nothing to me because it’s the truth . . . He’s not embracing the scene, he’s doing it for himself.” Listen to the interview in full here .

‘Leaving Neverland’ Directer Rips Into Dave Chappelle For Sexual Assault Jokes: ‘I Felt Physically Sick’

Source: George Pimentel / Getty The documentary Leaving Neverland just snagged an Emmy award and the director for the movie had some words for Dave Chappelle in light of the win. Dan Reed called Chappelle’s jokes about Michael Jackson ‘s rape accusers “revolting” and he said they made him “physically sick,” according to The Independent . Reed’s comments came after Dave Chappelle’s Netflix comedy special Stick & Stones went hard on Jackson’s rape accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck . Dave flat out said that he doesn’t believe the alleged victims and even referred to himself as a “victim blamer.” He said if someone told him Jackson was molesting kids, he would respond “Well, what were those kids wearing at the time?” Chappelle also said that even if Michael did commit the acts, “This kid got his di** sucked by the king of pop. All we get is awkward Thanksgivings for the rest of our lives. You know how good it must have felt to go to school the next day after that sh**?” He continued, “I know it seems harsh, but somebody’s gotta teach these kids. No such thing as a free trip to Hawaii. He’s going to want to look at your butthole or something.” Director Dan Reed responded to Chappelle’s routine after Leaving Neverland , which documents the accounts of the alleged victims, won a Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special. “Chappelle is riding on a wave of being contrarian, being controversial, and this, to me, was revolting,” he said. “I felt physically sick listening to what he was saying.” He continued, “You can make comedy out of so many other things. Why not do something brave instead of crapping on some victim of child rape?” Safechuck and Robson also responded to Chappelle’s comedy special not too long after it premiered. “I’m heartbroken for all those children who look to see how they will be received when they finally find the courage to speak out about their sexual abuse,” said Safechuck. “I just want to reach out to other survivors and let them know that we can’t let this type of behavior silence us. Together we are strong.” Robson added, “He can say whatever he wants. It reveals him, not us.” Jackson was under investigation twice for accusations that he molested children. He didn’t face charges in 1994, however, he went to trial in 2005 and was acquitted of all counts. Robson’s lawyer commented after Chappelle’s comedy special, saying “Although Mr. Chappelle is entitled to his opinions, however misinformed they may be, it’s unfortunate that he has chosen to use his platform to shame sexual abuse victims, and spread his ignorance of sexual abuse and the way it is perpetrated upon children, in an attempt to resurrect his career.”

F Your Lil Awards: Beyonce’s ‘Homecoming’ Did NOT Win An Emmy And Everyone Is DISTRAUGHT

Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty Beyonce Denied At The Emmys It’s about time we talk about the way Beyonce gets treated at white awards shows. We know all about how the Grammys mistreat her, but it’s also time to talk about the Emmys. Bey was nominated for six Emmys for her groundbreaking, revolutionary documentary “Homecoming” that broke all sorts of Netflix records and sparked even more Beyhive fandom. That doesn’t seem to matter to white awards shows as MFing Carpool Karaoke won the damn Emmy over Bey. The show with a camera on the dashboard won? Okay. The fans are disgusted and rightfully so. Take a look… Me knowing that Beyoncé’s Creole ancestors about to haunt and curse all of the Emmy voters who voted against Homecoming pic.twitter.com/XZvuBN0Sxr —

NoJulz: Big Boi Casually Brushes Off YesJulz Outkast Slander [Video]

Excerpt from:

Source: Marcus Ingram / Getty YesJulz invited an avalanche of slander after bigging up EarthGang , and rightfully so, but throwing Big Bo i under the bus in the process. After getting corrected by the Internet for saying the Dreamville crew is like Outkast “with two Andres,” the more active half of the famed Atlanta duo brushed off the slander as cool as one can imagine. In an interview alongside vocalist and longtime compatriot Sleepy Brown, Big Boi hit the Power 105.1 studios to sit down with The Breakfast Club and addressed the chatter regarding his crew and YesJulz leaping out the gate loud and wrong. Big Boi was alerted to all the news by his son, who is now in college in New York, who initially thought something happened to his dad as he was trending on Twitter. However, Bamboo let his father known that Twitter ferociously cooked YesJulz but his final statement on the matter was all that was needed to be said. “When you reach God MC status, it’s hard for people to see you up here in these clouds,” Big Boi shared. “You just gotta pull the tape, man. Twenty-five years, when I won everything and done everything in music, and personally. I’m so proud now that I was able to maintain my family, my wife. I got three kids in college, I’m an empty-nester, I’m back slingin’ raw d*ck and Netflix, I just ain’t trying to reset the Playstation, so life is lovely, man.” That settles it. — Photo: Getty
