‘Power’ Season 6 Trailer Teases The “Final Betrayal”

Read more:

Source: Starz / Power A ugust 25, we will be singing “they say it’s a big rich town” for the final season. Starz’s hit original series, Power returns for its sixth and final season. Yesterday (July 6) the network unveiled the trailer for the show, and it basically proves one thing, Ghost (Omari Hardwick) can’t trust a single soul in his shaky circle, not even his own damn son. It’s the final battle between brothers. The #FinalBetrayal begins August 25 on @STARZ . pic.twitter.com/11DlAiT29M — Power (@Power_STARZ) July 6, 2019 All James St. Patrick wants to do is be a legitimate businessman, honor his deceased daughter by getting the Queens Child Project erected and be a loving father to his stubborn ass son Tariq. BUT, of course, that will prove to be difficult thanks in large part to his brother in crime, Tommy (Joseph Sikora) — now trying to cancel Christmas on him… AGAIN — to be the biggest dope dealer in NYC with the help of his boo Keisha (La La Anthony) who has a bone to with her best friend Tasha (Natura Naughton). It also doesn’t help that Riq is out here looking like a watered down version of his dad by getting into the drug game while at the same time partnering up with those who want to see the patriarch of the St. Patrick family six feet under. We can’t forget that Dre (Rotimi) is still running the streets, and the Feds led by Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) are still hot on his tail and want to see the former drug kingpin in jail. The 2:08 trailer confirms the return of Angela Valdez (Lela Loren) who was shot by Tommy in season 5’s “cliffhanger” season finale . Despite viewers thinking it was the end of Ghost’s legendary side chick, showrunner Courtney A.Kemp confirmed immediately that she would be returning for the final season so her presence in the trailer should come as no surprise to anyone. So buckle up, it looks like we are in for a wild ride, season 6 will be bringing the twists and turns and somehow manage to spread it out through 15 episodes. Step into the trailer for Power’s final season below and keep it locked here for full recaps.

Lindsay Lohan: Beach Club CLOSED! Reality Show CANCELED!

It’s been a rough week for Lindsay Lohan. Sure that’s probably been the case just about every week since 2011 or so, but these few days have been especially trying for the actress-turned-wannabe-reality-star. Proving that the world has officially lost interest in her freckled shenanigans, Page Six is reporting today that Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club  has been canceled by MTV after just one season. No doubt it’s a major blow to Lindsay, who likely regarded the project as her best chance at returning to relevance. (LiLo is as delusional as they come, but even she must be starting to realize her dream of starring in a live-action remake of The Little Mermaid will never, ever come to fruition. The cancelation probably comes as a disappointment to MTV, as well. While Beach Club ‘s shoestring budget was evident in its shoddy production values, the network threw all of its promotional muscle into making the show a hit. And at first, the efforts paid off. Beach Club premiered in January to decent ratings, but those numbers declined rapidly when viewers realized what they were getting — a half-assed Vanderpump Rules knockoff with Lindsay bafflingly cast in the role of older, wiser mentor/mogul, a la Lisa Vanderpump. People want to see Lindsay partying and generally being a mess, not dispensing life advice to a group of interchangeable twentysomethings. Despite all of that, Lindsay’s dwindling clout might have been enough to earn her a second season, were it not for one pesky detail: It seems Lohan Beach Club in Mykonos has closed its doors for good. “A friend had reservations this week, and the club just called and said that they will not be opening this season,” a source tells Page Six . Another recently-returned vacationer confirmed that the club appeared to be closed during their time in Greece, and Mykonos residents seemed to have adopted a “good riddance” attitude. “The locals said it was a waste [of time to go],” the tipster recalls. “They advertised being open for [the] summer season, specifically late May. We drove past and it’s literally [deserted] … The Lohan sign is stripped off,” a third traveler wrote on Facebook. Insiders say multiple plans to tinker with the show and revive it for a second season were ultimately scrapped. “There was a renewal idea that producers hoped would perk it up for a second season,” says a source close to the production. “It would be turned into a show about Lindsay and [her mother] Dina and [sister] Ali, [but] that wasn’t going to happen.” The insider adds that the cast of beach club employees simply failed to deliver the fireworks execs had hoped for: “They wanted ‘breakdowns.’ That’s not where [Lohan] is at with her life anymore,” the informant claims. “Their personal business doesn’t need to be aired on television; it’s already in the papers anyway.” Clearly, a show focused on the famously troubled Lohan family would have had a much easier time finding an audience. But it seems that’s not the image that LiLo is looking to project these days. In any event, Beach Club is officially a thing of the past now, as a rep for Lohan confirmed that “she is not doing another season.” RIP to one of the worst reality shows in history . Josh Duggar: Returning to Counting On With Scene at Mary Duggar’s Funeral?

Last week, we reported on the sad news that Mary Duggar had passed away . At first, it was widely assumed that the 78-year-old mother of Jim Bob Duggar had died of natural causes, but that turned out not to be the case. As we later learned, Mary Duggar drowned under circumstances that remain mysterious to the public. And that was just the first of many controversies surrounding the death. Despite the fact that Jill Duggar was accused of “cashing in” on Mary’s passing  by eulogizing her grandmother in a monetized blog post, she paid tribute yet again today. This time, the mother of two posted a photo from Mary’s funeral along with another loving message of remembrance: “Yesterday was a very hard, yet beautiful day,” Jill captioned the image. “The service was lovely and very honoring to my Grandma and the one she loved more than anyone or anything else, Jesus Christ!” she continued. “So many family members and friends came together and organized, supported and remembered the amazing woman she was!” Jill ended her post on a hopeful note adding: “Then there was a beautiful rainbow … a sign of God’s faithfulness,’ as Grandma would always say!” she wrote. “We’ll see you in heaven, Grandma! I know you’re enjoying your time with Jesus before the rest of us arrive!” Thankfully, no one criticized Jill’s post this time around. But the Duggar clan’s wariness regarding public opinion was evident throughout the memorial service: Several Duggar men took the stage to speak at Mary’s funeral — including Jim Bob and Michelle’s oldest son. Now, we probably don’t need to tell you that the Josh Duggar sex scandals remain a hot button issue, and the 31-year-old has not appeared on his family’s reality show in the four years since they went public. Rumors of Josh returning to Counting On have been circulating for years, but thus far, the family has not been so bold as to attempt to reintroduce him to the public. And it seems that’s not about to change anytime soon. A camera crew was present at Mary’s funeral, but sources tell Radar that precautions were taken to ensure that Josh did not appear on camera. “Josh spoke which caused the TLC cameras to immediately shut off,” says the insider . Smart move by both the Duggars and TLC. In all likelihood, there will already be some controversy surrounding the decision to televise Mary’s funeral. The last thing the network needs is to add fuel to the fire by making it Josh’s long-dreaded comeback episode. View Slideshow: Duggar Family: Secrets of Their Twisted Ministry Revealed

Blac Chyna Trashes Keeping Up with the Kardashians: It’s Fake! Lame! Failing!

It is, sadly and predictably, totally on again between Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna. The exes are back to arguing once again over two of the topics that often cause the most tension: Their daughter… and reality television. Late last week, Rob made it clear – through his attorney, Marty Singer – that the former couple’s two-year old daughter, Dream, would NOT be appearing on Chyna’s upcoming Zeus Network reality series. Due to her age, Dream would need the consent of both her parents to play any role on this program. And Rob refuses to give it. “Please be advised that The Zeus Network does not have Mr. Kardashian’s consent to Dream’s participation in or appearance on the Series or in any related marketing or promotional materials,” Singer said on his client’s behalf last Wednesday. It’s not too hard to understand why a parent wouldn’t want his toddler to be thrown in front of a television camera… … but try telling that to Blac Chyna. On Saturday, the mother of two shared a lengthy and scathing statement on social media in response to Rob’s stance when it comes to The Real Blac Chyna show. “As Executive Producer of my show, It is very unfortunate that Rob could not simply have an adult conversation with me ‘the mother of his child,’ Dream Kardashian appearing on my show ‘The Real Blac Chyna,’” she wrote online. Chyna explained that a significant part of her beef centered on just how Kardashian handled this issue. “Had Rob contacted me directly rather than through his attorney Marty Singer, Rob would have learned about Dream participation in the show,” she continued, adding that she “would never allow” Dream to be “subjected to long hours on the set.” Again, she reiterated, she is in charge of this series. The ex lovers — who co-starred on their own E! program back when they were engaged — agreed to joint custody in September of 2017 following an often contentious romance and that culminated with both side alleging abuse in separate lawsuits. They actually seemed to be getting along pretty well of late. Chyna even recently said some nice stuff about Rob as a dad. And as a sex partner . “I have the ability to control which scenes are included in the show,” Chyna added over the weekend, stating, for example, that Dream was NOT around during the publicized fight on her future show between herself and her mother. The reality star concluded her post by claiming Keeping Up with the Kardashians features Dream in episodes without Chyna’s consent. So, like, come on, dude! “I also would have pointed out to Rob the hypocrisy of his family’s insistence that Dream appear on Keeping Up with the Kardashians in the family’s desperate attempt to boost the dismal ratings for their stale and contrived show, without my approval,” Chyna said. She cited out a recent season 16 episode, which aired in May, that depicted Dream’s fairy-themed birthday party. “My show is about my life and my kids are a huge part of my life. “It’s really sad that everything I do to better myself or my family the same people have something to say to stop or hinder it,” she added. Ellen Pompeo Defends Kelly Ripa, SLAMS Bachelorette Creator!

Sometimes, the feuds you never see coming turn out to be the most amusing ones. That’s certainly proving to be the case with the all-out war between Team Bachelorette and Team Kelly Ripa . Here’s a brief rundown, in case you’re not caught up on this escalating spat: Earlier this week, Ripa’s co-host, Ryan Seacrest, informed her that current Bachelorette star Hannah Brown would be appearing on their daytime talk show. This shouldn’t have come as a surprise, as Live! and The Bachelorette are both ABC properties, and it’s not uncommon for networks to fill airtime with this sort of synergistic cross-promotion. But Ripa was apparently caught off-guard, as she admitted she has no idea who Hannah is, and she is very much not a fan of The Bachelorette. “You guys, you know how I feel about the show, it disgusts me,” Ripa told her audience. “I can’t stand the idea of 25 exceptional women fighting over one ordinary fella, in my opinion,” she added. “You know how I feel, ladies, we are too special to be arguing over a guy.” From there, Ripa wagged a finger at her own audience, saying, “All of you women watch that gross, gross show.” Not surprisingly, the show’s creator, Mike Fleiss, was quick to clap back at Ripa with a tweet that many thought crossed the line into impropriety: “Easy, Kelly Ripa,” he wrote. “The Bachelor franchise pays your salary.” Ripa never responded to Fleiss’ provocation but her good friend Ellen Pompeo of Grey’s Anatomy fame entered the fray on her behalf: “Okay @fleissmeister… that’s some handle bro!” she tweeted. “Your show does NOT pay @KellyRipa salary. Also we don’t attack successful women on our network and men certainly cannot take credit for their success. Don’t get me started on your show cuz I’m a savage…. #bachelorsoooowhite.” “Took a break [from Twitter] but had to jump back in the ring for my girl @KellyRipa,” Pompeo later added. Pretty intense stuff. Surely, the woman at the center of all of this, Hannah Brown, must also have some harsh words for Ripa, right? Well … not so much. Brown appeared on Kelly and Ryan this morning , and while she may have sounded as though she were reading from a script prepared by some network PR goon, she maintained an amicable tone throughout. “Ultimately, it was one of the most empowering things that I ever have done because I had to push myself and grow as an individual,” Hannah said. “And I did. And I think that’s why I decided that I wanted to be the Bachelorette and wanted that so bad.” We suppose at the end of the day, shows like The Bachelorette are like beauty pageants — they may seem outdated and sexist to some, but isn’t it also sexist to tell the women who find fulfillment in them that they’re not allowed to participate? Anyway, the important thing is that there’s no beef between Kelly and Hannah — but this Ellen Pompeo vs. Mike Fleiss thing? That has potential!  View Slideshow: The Bachelorette Spoilers: Check Out Hannah Brown’s Final THREE! [UPDATED]
