The one and only time I met Justin was last year but I never wrote a My Bieber Experience about it so I’m doing mine now. It was November 17th 2011 at the meet and greet for the Pencils of Promise Gala. I went with my friend Julia and we saw some people there that we knew. Most of the people there were over 20 so no one really loved Justin as much as I do. It was really awkward when I was the only one bawling my eyes out when he first came in. We weren’t allowed to scream for some reason and one of the heads of the gala came up to me and said, “You seem like a screamer so no screaming ok?” Obviously I had to say okay. While we waited in line to take our pictures with Justin, we made legit eye contact so I waved to him and he smiled back. It was beautiful. A few minutes later we made eye contact again so I waved again and this time he smiled the beautiful smile and waved back! I literally fell to the ground. When it was our turn, I made sure I was next to him in the picture which pissed some other people off. When I stood next to him, he put his arm around my waist and said “Hey” but I contained my emotions so I wouldn’t look horrible in my picture with my idol. Right before they took the picture, it hit me that I was standing next to JUSTIN BIEBER, THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. I turned my head and just stared at his angelic smiling face to soak it all in. After they took the picture I asked if I could hug him and he said “Of course!” and hugged me. Words cannot describe how amazing it felt to be wrapped in his arms. Later at the gala, I met Kenny who was adorable and really is like a teddy bear. I also met Adam Braun and Usher. It was hands down the best day of my life. By the way I still haven’t washed the dress and sweater I wore because HE TOUCHED THEM! It’s been almost a year now and I’m not planning on washing them anytime soon. A week later, Justin was having a concert at the Today Show . We stood in the freezing cold rain for about 6 hours. An extremely nice family pretended they knew us so we could stand inside with them as VIPs in the same room as Justin when he walked out. He looked amazing. We watched the concert, cried a lot, and talked to Scooter a little bit. I raised a lot of money for Pencils of Promise so when I told him my name and what I did, he knew who I was! After the concert, we waited to see if Justin would come out so we could meet him. He didn’t but we met Scrappy and Dan and they were so nice and funny. On April 23rd 2012 I met the whole Bieber crew. I had already met Alfredo before but that day was amazing. We went to his hotel and there were over 200 screaming fans. We were all chanting, “We want Bieber”. He came to the window and was doing all kinds of funny faces. Then we got chatting to a photographer and he told us where Justin was going to so we got a taxi to the secret location in London. We just got out the cab and Alfredo and Kenny were already there. I went up to Alfredo and said hi and he told me he remembered me from somewhere. I told him where and he was like yeah and gave me a hug. Then everyone went in and we got interviewed by the Evening Standard. We waited for about an hour and got talking to a coach driver who we were mucking about with. The coach driver who we called ‘Uncle Rodger’ said, “Look it’s him”. We thought he was joking around until we looked and there was Justin standing at the door. We went to the door and said, “Shh we will be quiet promise”. Then he told Moshe and his dad let them in and we went into this little stairway. We all got in a group photo and then I turned around because he was behind me and said, “Thanks Justin. This is off my bucket list” and he replied with, “You’re welcome beautiful”. I almost died. Jeremy took my photos for me and I couldn’t be more grateful. After we left, we screamed so much and then we went back and Alfredo and Scooter had come out. I got photos with them both and Scooter took my Sharpie and put it in his mouth haha. I also got my book signed by Scooter and Jeremy took all my photos. But there was one topic he couldn’t avoid: the paternity suit . “Right now, I’m focusing on my album and the music and the [Pencils of Promise] charity we’re doing, and just being positive because Christmastime is a time for joy and happiness, so that’s what I’m thinking,” Bieber told Elvis Duran and crew. “And as far as the whole baby situation, it’s unfortunate that it had to happen like that. People make false accusations, but things happen in this industry and you have to keep your head high and be positive.” When asked if he wondered why he was the target of Mariah Yeater’s allegations, he joked, “If it was up to me, it would have been a better story like, ‘Justin Bieber went off to South America with this 27-year-old supermodel.’ That would have been awesome. “They say that any press is good press — I do not believe that’s true,” the pop star added. “If you’re in the spotlight, then people are looking at you to be a role model, and if you’re doing bad things to be getting press, I think that’s really, really sad.” While Bieber was diplomatic about his response, his manager, Scooter Braun, had stronger words for Yeater and her legal team . “Look, I don’t usually talk in front of mics but the bottom line is they said they’re in settlement talks with us, and the only thing I’m gonna say is they will never be in settlement talks with us,” he said. “We will never settle with them. That’s my little guy right there — I protect him — and they messed with the wrong crew. “It’s false and people should be held accountable when they run out and say this stuff,” Braun continued. “And they have this lawyer running around saying, ‘Well, we want everything to be held confidentially now.’ But you don’t get to go out there and badmouth a 17-year-old kid to the entire world then suddenly think it’s going to stay confidential. We’re not gonna go away quietly. I’m from around [the NYC area], and you know that people from around here don’t like to be messed with.” Bieber also revealed what he wants his legacy to be: “[I want people to say], ‘He was a good entertainer; a great entertainer,’ more or less. I don’t want to be second- or third-best, but I want to be the best.” Justin’s visit to New York City won’t end with Z100. He’s also slated to make various radio and media appearances, including a gala held for the Pencils of Promise charity and a Make-A-Wish Foundation event on Friday, where he’ll be honored for granting the most wishes in 2011.
