Survivor Season 29 Episode 13 Recap: The Winner Is …

Survivor Season 29 Episode 13 saw the final three revealed, the winner crowned and the $1 million prize claimed in the searing heat of San Juan del Sur. Who ended up outwitting, outlasting and outplaying the competition this fall? Watch Survivor Season 29 Episode 13 Online The final three included CrossFit coach Natalie Anderson, Missy Payne, a cheerleader from Texas, and former Miss Michigan USA Jaclyn Schulz. In the end, Natalie Anderson was named the ultimate Survivor. What began with 18 loved ones pitted against one another in the series’ second Blood vs. Water match, Survivor Season 29 Episode 13 closed it out in style. Natalie, who started the game with her twin sister Nadiya – the first person voted out of the game – was forced to fight, scratch and claw her way to the end. The 28-year-old from Edgewater, N.J., has been on The Amazing Race (twice), so she’s used to thinking on her feet and never giving up, and it showed. Natalie describes herself as “crazy, strong and confident” and her pet peeve as “girls who can’t do anything for themselves, lazy people and dumb people.” The Survivor champ certainly backs up that talk, that’s for sure. Natalie won five jury votes, Schulz two and Payne one vote. If you watch Survivor online , you know she was a beast of a competitor, but even more so behind the scenes, engineering all the alliances she needed. It was a championship well earned. As for next season? Jeff Probst revealed three tribes – blue collar, white collar and no collar – will come to Nicaragua for the 30th iteration, entitled Survivor: Worlds Apart . Sounds like yet another fun twist on the CBS juggernaut that continues to reinvent itself while sticking to the key factors that have made it such a mainstay. What did you think of the finale? Discuss below!

My name is Christine (I’m the one on the far right in blue in top picture) and I met my idol on July 9th, 2013 in Chicago, IL . Ever since I became a Belieber in 2010, I always told myself that one day I would meet Justin and tell him how much he means to me. Every night I would pray that one day, my dream would come true. I always knew that it would but I never thought that it would happen so soon. The way it happened also makes me smile because my friends and I worked for it. Ya see, myself and my 6 other friends competed in the 2012-2013 Schools 4 All competition hosted by Pencils of Promise. We did it in 2011 as well and ended up raising over $13,000 so we were excited to give it another go. We weren’t just participating because of the grand prize of bringing Justin to our school, we were doing it because knowing that other kids and families out there in the world are smiling because of us is the best feeling ever. At the end of the competition, we raised over $21,000 and ended up winning! I still remember the day I found out we won. Knowing that all of our hard work was going to pay off was amazing. Justin also ended up seeing the video of us finding out that we won. He tweeted that he was looking forward to meeting us! That put the biggest smile on my face. My idol was looking forward to meeting me. Still get chills from it all. Time went on and we found out that Justin’s scheduling couldn’t allow him to come to our school and that we were going to be taken up to Chicago for the whole thing to play out. We also found out that Justin was giving us free tickets to his show that night, too! Fast forward to July 9th: I woke up to Never Say Never and realized that today was the day that I was meeting my everything. I got my hair done and what not, had a few anxiety attacks (ya know), and finally was off to Chicago! Once we got up there, Pencils of Promise put on a presentation for us just to say thanks for what we did. We even found out that our fundraising group had the most donations on our site than anyone and that ever since we started raising money for PoP, we’ve raised over $35,000. Since that is over the $25,000 amount to build a whole school, we ended up getting a school dedicated to us in Nicaragua!! I can’t even describe the feeling. After we got done thanking the PoP workers, it was time to go down to the meet and greet. I was shaking so hard at this point, I was surprised I was even able to go down the stairs. Once we all lined up, all there was left to do was wait. While we were waiting, we saw Kenny, Dan, DJ Tay James, and Justin’s dancers. Then our group of 7 had to get split up since only 6 were allowed in at a time so we just went in with our parents but they just didn’t get in the picture, if that makes sense. After our first group of 3 was done, security ushered us 4 in. Then, I see him. My idol was standing right in front of my eyes. The first thing I notice was his smile. It’s so beautiful. We all went in for our picture. It all happened so fast that we don’t even remember seeing the camera. Right after that, security comes up and starts pushing us out (and I legit mean pushing), but I had made a promise to myself that I was not leaving with out hugging him. I got passed like a 9 ft. tall security guard and walked up to Justin. The next thing I knew, I was in his arms. I was holding my whole world. I was getting ready to cry so I heard my voice crack when I said, “I love you so much.” He then replies back in the sweetest, kindest tone, “Awh, thank you, it means a lot. I love you too.” That hug was probably about 2 seconds but it felt like a lifetime. Right after I walked out, I started crying my eyes out. I couldn’t believe what just happened. I finally stopped crying about 10 minutes later and found out that my friends and I were told that Justin was looking forward to talking to us, to tell us thank you for our fundraising, but confusion with security/not knowing who we were couldn’t allow that to happen. However, when one of my friend’s moms was back receiving our concert tickets from Scooter, he told Justin that the tickets were for the Pencils of Promise girls and he signed them just for us! Regardless of what happened that night, I’m still extremely thankful for what I got and that I got to spend the most amazing, memorable day with my best friends. I know that this story was long but I hope that it reminds you that dreams do come true. Also, just a reminder that one day, you will meet Justin. Keep telling yourself that and one day, it’ll happen. I promise. Believe. -Christine              Read the original post: My name is Christine (I’m the one on the far right in blue…

‘Survivor: One World’ Is Kim’s Game To Lose

Troyzan goes and Kim falters in the latest episode, and MTV News is back with former player Rob Cesternino to recap it all. By Josh Wigler Kim Spradlin during the immunity challenge on “Survivor: One World” Photo: CBS Few people would have predicted Greg “Tarzan” Smith to be the last man standing on “Survivor: One World,” but that’s exactly what’s happened now that his similarly named competitor Troyzan is no longer in the game. After an astonishing drop in likability paired with an equally stunning win last week, Troyzan redeemed himself (to a degree) on a personal level in the latest episode, at the expense of his life in the game. Now, six women remain: wishy-washy Christina, foul-mouthed Alicia, dim-witted Kat, savvy Sabrina, the seemingly unbeatable Kim and her partner-in-crime Chelsea — with only Tarzan representing the men of “One World,” poop pants and all. As the season moves toward the end game, it’s bridal shop owner Kim who remains the player to beat. Not only the dominant strategist in her alliance, Kim also proved herself a serious challenge threat this week by winning both reward and immunity with little to no competition. Still, not even Kim is infallible: She made a controversial choice to share her reward with her clear-cut ally Chelsea, leaving another member of her alliance, Kat, feeling insecure about her place in the grand scheme of things. Will Kim’s biggest blunder to date come back to bite her down the line, or is it much ado about nothing? MTV News once again paired up with two-time “Survivor” contestant Rob Cesternino to cover the latest episode of “One World,” including the fall of Troyzan and Kim’s continued warpath. MTV : We were hard on Troyzan last week, understandably so. This week, even though he was voted off, I feel a lot better about the guy. He did what he could to survive without being overly obnoxious. What was your take on Troy this week? Rob Cesternino : He sort of went through the five stages of grief over the last two weeks. Last week was anger and denial. This week, he moved onto bargaining and acceptance. He had a really good week this week. I really wanted to believe — and maybe I’m like Kat, and I just want to believe — but I hoped that Troyzan would pull it off this week. But I kept doing the math in my head: He still needs one more vote. Who’s going to vote with him? The math just didn’t work out that way. MTV : Part of me thought that maybe, finally, Christina’s time was up. Somehow, she gets to survive another day. Cesternino : I don’t understand why people keep trying to take her out, though. Even for Troyzan, if he could have swung the vote against Christina, it wouldn’t have been a power move. It wouldn’t have changed anything. MTV : Well, in fairness, it would’ve changed a lot for Troyzan. Cesternino : Sure, for Troyzan, it’s important. But it’s basically just cutting the tail off the snake [for anybody else]. Nothing really fundamentally changes if she’s voted off. She’s not a part of anybody’s alliance, so getting rid of her wouldn’t have been a power move for anybody else in this game. I think she’s next though, and that’s good for Kim — it keeps up the status quo, and gives her another week before she has to start making hard decisions. It’s not looking good for Christina at all. MTV : Why Christina over Tarzan? He’s the last man on the beach, which makes him an easy vote. Cesternino : I don’t think they have a very strong preference either way between those two. They’re both pretty expendable to the overall plan. I actually think Tarzan has now become someone who could win the game, if you have a bitter jury of men saying, “Well, at least he has a penis!” MTV : Fair point! [Laughs] Sticking with Christina for a minute, I can’t believe Sabrina just flat-out told Christina that she was getting votes that night. Cesternino : It was so bizarre, Sabrina telling her, “We’re putting votes on Troyzan, and we’re also putting votes on you. Hope you’re on board with this plan!” And Christina was pretty much on board. And then she goes, “You know, I don’t know if I can trust the girls 100 percent.” Well, they just said they’re putting two votes on you! I don’t know what kind of wakeup call she really needs in this game, because, come on! MTV : You and I have been on the Kimsanity train for a while now, but she screwed up this week, picking Chelsea over Kat to come with her at the reward challenge. Cesternino : She really did make a big blunder. It reminded me of “Survivor: Nicaragua,” when Sash did the same thing with Fabio; he didn’t let Fabio see his mom. He got a very similar reaction. Also, for future reference, anytime they show you two people [striking a deal] before a reward challenge, you know that one of those two people is going to win, and they’re not going to do what they just said they’d do. It’s “Survivor” foreshadowing. MTV : How bad was Kim’s blunder? What kind of damage is that going to do down the line? Cesternino : On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being no big deal and 10 being Erik Reichenbach giving his immunity necklace away on “Fans vs. Favorites,” I’d give it about a 3. It’s not a big deal. Kat’s a little upset, but what’s Kat going to do? MTV : Kat was clearly very upset, though. Now she has those Russell seeds in there; she wants to be a power player. Cesternino : I think this whole episode was about perception and reality. For Kat, when she was confronted with what reality is and how different it is from what her perception of the game is — how people really see her — she really did need to wake up and smell the coffee. I don’t know which show Kat thinks she’s on, where she’s been the dominant player all season long, but I would like to watch that show. MTV : That show exists in the same universe where Kat has never failed at anything in her life. Cesternino : Right! [Laughs] This is so hard for her. She’s never failed at anything. It’s unfathomable! MTV : Troyzan tried to make it look like Kim, Chelsea and Alicia were the top dogs based on the results of the reward challenge. Do you think that’s the actual final three? Cesternino : With final threes instead of final twos now in place on “Survivor,” I think that everybody left really thinks that they’re in the final three with Kim. It’s like what Boston Rob was able to do a couple of seasons ago on “Redemption Island.” Alicia thinks she’s in the finals with Kim and Chelsea, Sabrina thinks she’s in the finals with Kim and Chelsea, and Kat thinks she’s in there too. We may not see how things really shake out until the final five, because you have all these people who think they’ll be in that third spot. Plus, somebody’s still working with Tarzan. Somebody’s telling him what he wants to hear to keep him from voting with Troyzan. And nobody tells Christina anything; she’ll vote however they want her to. But what’s going to happen is, these people on the bottom are going to scratch and claw their way for the top three. No one’s going to get together and take out Kim, saying, “We can be the new top three. Forget Kim and Chelsea.” If Alicia and Christina could just stop bickering with each other, they could do something. Troyzan laid it out so obviously: With seven people left in the game, it could very easily be Kat, Christina, Alicia and Tarzan as the final four of the game — but that’s not going to happen. MTV : Certainly not with Troyzan gone. Will you miss having him on the show? Cesternino : It’s sad to see him go, because it felt like he was the only one left who could give Kim a run for her money. It’s really just Kim and a bunch of also-rans now. We’ll see if a bitter jury just doesn’t give Kim her money. MTV : I would like to believe you’re right, because I want to see Kim win the game. But there’s an argument to be made for Chelsea, too. She’s playing a solid game: She’s vocal, she’s strong in challenges. I think Chelsea could beat Kim. Cesternino : Absolutely. Just like last season, where Coach dominated the game, brought his alliance to the finals, told everybody what they wanted to hear to get to that point, and the jury gave the money to Coach’s loyal sidekick who was more blunt, honest and won challenges. It could easily go down the same way. I think Kim is savvier about the game than Coach is, but you have a voting block on the jury of five guys who want to blame somebody for what happened to them. Will they blame Kim and not give her the win because they look at her as the person who engineered the idea to get the men out of the game? We’ll see. MTV : Kim said that winning the reward challenge was the worst thing to happen to her in the game so far. I have a feeling she’ll have worse days coming up. Cesternino : Wah, wah, wah. [Laughs] If your worst day on “Survivor,” you win a reward challenge and an immunity challenge, then you’re doing pretty damn good out there. Let’s start a new hashtag: #winnerproblems. Heavy D’s Cause Of Death Announced

Rapper succumbed to pulmonary embolism, a result of a blood clot that traveled to his lung. By Rob Markman Heavy D Photo: Prince Williams/ FilmMagic Though he was only 44 years old, a medical examiner has concluded that Heavy D ‘s death last month was a result of natural causes. TMZ reported that Heavy, born Dwight Myers, died from a pulmonary embolism caused by deep vein thrombosis. Pulmonary embolism is usually caused by a blood clot formed in the leg that eventually travels up to the lung, stopping blood flow. In most cases, the clots formed aren’t deadly, but officials from L.A. County Coroner’s Office also told TMZ that the rapper suffered from heart disease and that may have been a contributing factor to his death as well. According to WebMD, common symptoms associated with pulmonary embolism are sudden shortness of breath, sharp chest pains, lightheadedness and fainting. Police reported that on November 8 they arrived at Heavy D’s Beverly Hills home after a call was made to report an unconscious man. When the cops arrived, they found the rapper conscious, though he had difficulty breathing. The self-proclaimed Overweight Lover was then transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. TMZ also reported that a flight that Heavy took back from Europe after performing at a Michael Jackson tribute concert in Wales may have been a factor in his death as well. It is believed that the blood clots formed in Heavy’s legs due to his prolonged immobility on the long flight. Heavy was laid to rest on November 18. The night before his funeral, his brother Floyd Myers spoke with MTV News about his brother’s health from his family’s home, apparently unaware of Heavy’s heart disease. “Heavy was in great shape,” Myers said. “You guys seen him at the BET Awards, and he just did the tribute to Michael Jackson; they flew him out to London to do that. Heav was in good shape, healthy, no heart problems. He constantly made sure that his health was in check.” At the time, the initial autopsy report had come back inconclusive and Heavy’s family, friends and fans were still searching for answers. Still, rather than speculate, Heav’s brother remembered the positivity that the rapper exhibited in his life. “He loved family, and that’s who he was, but it wasn’t too much different from how he treated his friends and his fans,” he said. “He showed everybody love and affection, and we’re gonna miss that.” Related Videos Remembering Heavy D Related Photos Heavy D: Life, Music And Friends Related Artists Heavy D & The Boyz

Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber Top ‘Celebs Gone Good’

DoSomething.org’s annual list ranks the 20 most charity-friendly stars. By Terri Schwartz Lady Gaga Photo: Scott Gries/ Picture Group Lady Gaga , Justin Bieber and George Clooney better have received something nice from Santa this year, because they certainly weren’t on his naughty list. Those three toplined DoSomething.org ‘s Top 20 Celebs Gone Good, the organization’s annual roundup of the most charity-friendly stars in the business. This is Gaga’s second year in a row at the #1 spot. In 2011 she dedicated much of her time to putting an end to bullying and even started a new charitable organization called Born This Way . The “Marry The Night” singer did plenty more to help out those less fortunate in 2011, including auctioning off a nude sketch for charity and performing at the Bill Clinton Foundation fundraiser . However, this was really Bieber’s year to shine. He rocketed up DoSomething.org’s list from #10 last year to #2 this year. It helps that Bieber donated some of his profits from his Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe , and his self-named perfume to various charitable organizations. Bieber also kept up his work with Pencils of Promise, a group that has built 41 schools in Laos, Nicaragua and Guatemala and was founded by his manager’s brother. Rounding out the top five were Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio. This was a year for celeb power couples, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie clocking at #8, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore at #12 and newlyweds Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert at #14. Other notable standouts this year were Demi Lovato and #10, Lea Michele making her charitable debut at #16, Daniel Radcliffe at #17, Miley Cyrus at #18 and Taylor Swift rounding out the list at #20. Rob and Amber Mariano Welcome Second Child!

At the live Survivor: Nicaragua finale reunion show on Sunday, three-time alum Rob Mariano had his own reveal for the audience – the expansion of his own tribe. Carina Rose Mariano was born to Rob and fellow Survivor legend Amber Mariano on December 10, joining sister Lucia Rose, 17 months, in a girl-power alliance. “I’m definitely outnumbered now!” says “Boston” Rob with a laugh. Rob, Amber and their little girls are allied for life . “It’s exciting and fun. I always thought I would have boys, but as a father, when your kids are healthy and happy, that’s the important thing.” Indeed. Amber’s delivery , which came two weeks late, sounds as daunting as any Survivor challenge. Congratulations to the happy couple.
