Rep. Mike Castle: The ‘Lies’ Of Hannity And Limbaugh Were ‘Significant’ Reasons I Lost To Christine O’Donnell (VIDEO)

In an interview with Fox News Wednesday, Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) said that a “significant” reason for his Senate primary loss to Christine O'Donnell was because of “misrepresentations” about his record by conservative radio personalities like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Hannity highlighted the comments on his show Wednesday night: CASTLE: I think the misrepresentations and the lies of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh on the air were another very significant part of all of this. I think some of the misrepresentations in my opponent's race were a part of it as well. How they ever came up with the theory that I voted to impeach George Bush, I'll never know. That was the news for a couple days right around the election time — by, I think, Mr. Limbaugh. But those are the kinds of things that make politics very difficult. “He sounds like a liberal, blaming other people!” Hannity responded. His guest for the segment was O'Donnell, who praised the Fox News host for all the work he did in the race: O'DONNELL: You guys brought his voting record to the public, so I thank you! I kind of agree with him. I wouldn't call it blame, I would call it credit. You were the leader of the band in saying, “We have got to stand on our principles. We cannot sell out anymore. Selling out on our principles is what has brought us to the brink of bankruptcy.” … I do thank you for that. added by: TimALoftis

Pope Calls for “World Political Authority”

[Note: this is a story from last year, im just posting it for personal reference] Pope Benedict XVI called for a “true world political authority” to manage the economy in his new encyclical on social justice. The encyclical, entitled “Charity in Truth,” was released by the Vatican on Tuesday and signed by the pope a day earlier. Benedict’s encyclical specifically called for “regulation of the financial sector,” and a “worldwide redistribution of energy resources.” Benedict added that “the State’s role seems destined to grow” if his political prescription is followed. “There is urgent need of a true world political authority,” Benedict wrote in the 30,000-word encyclical, calling for “reform of the United Nations Organization, and likewise of economic institutions and international finance, so that the concept of the family of nations can acquire real teeth.” Benedict described what a powerful world government with teeth would look like: “Such an authority would need to be universally recognized and to be vested with the effective power to ensure security for all.” He added: “Obviously it would have to have the authority to ensure compliance with its decisions from all parties” — that is, nations. At best, Benedict is proposing a global federation that would improve upon the U.S. Constitution’s checks and balances. “Such an authority would need to be regulated by law, to observe consistently the principles of subsidiarity,” Benedict says. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pope,_13_march_2007.jpg http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/culture/education/1375 added by: ibrake4rappers13

Neal McDonough:No to Love Scenes

The Desperate Housewives actor, Neal McDonough, was replaced by David James Ellicot after having several days of shoot for the show Scoundrels. It happened when Nela McDonough refused a love scene with his co-star Virginia Madsen. The reason why he refused the scene is that he is a family man and a Catholic. It is clear to ABC that he won’t do love scenes. There are also shows that he didn’t get involved like in Desperate Housewives with Nicolette Sheridan and also in NBC’s boomtown or that network’s Medical Investigation. Sticking to his principles cost him jobs. Maybe, for him it’s not a problem to lose a job just to do what you believe in. Neal McDonough:No to Love Scenes is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Amazon sued over ‘1984’ e-book removal

Amazon has been sued this week by 17-yr old Justin D. Gawronski, a high school student who says the e-tailer’s controversial removal of George Orwell’s classic 1984 e-book from Kindle readers caused him to lose all his notes he had taken on the book for an assignment at school.
