Chris March Dies; Project Runway Finalist Was 56

Very sad news today out of the reality television universe: Chris March, a popular contestant who competed on Season 4 of Project Runway, died on Thursday of a heart attack. He was 56 years old. Bravo personality and producer Andy Cohen mourned the loss of March in a heartfelt Instagram post, which read a follows: “This is how I’m going to remember Chris March, dressed as Lisa Vanderpump as I wear a Giggy costume he made for one of our first Halloween specials. Chris was a finalist on Season 4 of Project Runway. He designed for everyone from Beyoncé, Gaga, Madonna, Meryl, Prince and many legendary downtown drag queens (And Sonja Morgan!). He had a big booming laugh; he was a joy and delight. #RIP. According to TMZ, which broke this tragic news, March had been in and out of the hospital for the past year or so. He had been battling some pretty serious health problems — and yet the fatal heart attack came as a surprise to his doctors and loved ones. He was even designing dresses all the way up until the end. Along with making it to the finals on Season 4, March also appeared on Project Runway All Stars and had his own show on Bravo called “Mad Fashion.” Moreover, he made cameos on The Real Housewives of New York City, helping find elaborate costumes for Sonja Morgan. In 2017, March suffered an almost-fatal fall in his apartment that left him in a coma for the subsequent two months. A GoFundMe was launched on the reality star’s behalf to help offset the monetary challenges of his ongoing medical treatments. After this hospitalization, March entered a nursing facility. “I came close to death many times — they called my family and they were told if they wanted to say goodbye to come right away,” he said of the major mishap. Throughout his impressive career, March designed for Madonna, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Coolidge, Beyonce and Meryl Streep. He was responsible for the latter’s 2010 Golden Globe and Oscars ensembles. Just a few months ago, March shared an update on his health, revealing he had “run into several setbacks in my recovery.” As he described on the GoFundMe: “I am also in need of leg braces, specialized physical therapy, a hearing aid, and a new living arrangement. “Where I am now is unbearable and makes me anxious and depressed every day. I have considered suicide many times. I have tried my best to make strides.” March’s supporters raised nearly $60,000 of his $100,000 goal after his accident. We send our condolences to Chris March’s friends, family members and loved ones. May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: The Most Shocking Reality Star Deaths: Gone, But Not Forgotten

Project Beauty Expo Is the Conference Every Brown Beauty Needs

Follow this link:

Source: Project Beauty Expo / Courtesy of Brittany Brown Beauties, are you ready to take your beauty routine up a notch? Well, get excited because Project Beauty Expo is coming! Founded by esthetician, creator and owner of Moneé Cosmetics and fellow Brown beauty, Brittany Brown , Project Beauty Expo (PBE) is a one of a kind experience that every Black woman can enjoy. The annual “part conference, part experiential inspirational wonderland” is an opportunity for women of color to celebrate and connect with indie brand founders, network with content creators, hear from beauty enthusiasts and learn about everything there is to know about natural beauty, wellness and healthy living. “In the billion-dollar beauty industry, there is no platform that provides women with the tools to prepare themselves to enter this market while also giving them an opportunity to be discovered,” Brown explained. “With the platform provided by Project Beauty Expo, emerging or existing beauty brand owners have the opportunity to learn how to better operate their business as well as showcase their brand to the mass market.” As Brown stated, PBE was ultimately created in an effort to increase the number of multicultural women in the beauty industry by providing a support group for those interested in growing in this space. Source: Project Beauty Expo / Courtesy of Brittany Brown Not only is PBE a place where women of color can connect and build, it also aims to provide education from industry experts and buyers such as Sephora, Target, Ulta, Shopify and more that are dedicated to sharing insights on how to ultimately grow your indie beauty brand. What started as small event in Washington, D.C in 2016 has grown to over 40 participating brands and 300+ attendees, and only aims to get bigger. This year, the expo is taking over the West Coast (LA to be exact) starting on September 14 th and is set to be unlike any other beauty conference you’ve ever seen before. “[This] is a very exciting year for PBE,” Brown told us. “Not only have we migrated our community across the country but we’ve also expanded our event to 2 days. We added a full of workshops and to equip our exhibitors and other interested beauty professionals with the resources and information needed to grow their beauty business.” What sets PBE apart from your traditional beauty conference is that it’s a space specifically designed for Black and Brown beauty curators looking to take their careers to the next level. While larger beauty conferences might overlook this talented group of women, PBE was created for and by Black women and is designed to make sure people of color aren’t forgotten in the beauty world. Source: Project Beauty Expo / Courtesy of Brittany Brown In the short amount of time that PBE has been in existence, it’s grown to not only showcase indie beauty brands but also offer opportunities for Black and Brown women, beauty bloggers, natural beauty fanatics and enthusiasts to connect, collaborate, and share. The goal of #PBE2019, according to Brown is to “equip founders with knowledge through carefully curated workshops and create an experience for consumers and beauty entrepreneurs to come together to support the next generation of beauty disruptors that lack visibility within the industry.” Take it from the experts, this is one beauty event you don’t want to miss! SMH: TheRealTarzann Is Being Sued For Allegedly Stealing A Porcupine Found In His Possession

Source: Photo by Presley Ann/Getty Images / Photo by Presley Ann/Getty Images RealTarzann Sued For Stolen Animal Found On His Property Michael Holston–also known on Instagram as the “ Animal Educator ” TheRealTarzann–is involved in yet ANOTHER legal battle. There’s usually a pretty good chance that when you run off on the plug, they can’t call the police without snitching on themselves, too. But in the animal world, things are a lot different, so Holston didn’t get so lucky. According to reports from TMZ , Corinne Oltz, the operator of Wild Animal World in Florida, is claiming that one of her porcupines named ‘Pickles’ went missing before turning up in Tarzann’s possession. She says that she has been trying to get ahold of the popular animal Instagrammer for a while, but still hasn’t had any luck. Now, she’s suing for $5,000 and wants the money to come either from him or from the owner of the property. Like we mentioned before, this isn’t the first time TheReallTarzann has been in the spotlight for some issues with the law. This adds to the growing list of legal issues popping up involving the social media influencer, as he was arrested for burglary and battery less than a month ago. View this post on Instagram Motivational post : So started this project in May of 2019 and finished on August 5th I initially set the date for myself to finish the cage in 2 weeks max .. boy was i wrong ! Storms, rainy days , power and water outages , schedule clash , last minute change of plans , surprise trips out of the country it all felt like a never ending project! I had taken a love for carpentry and working with my hands while using my brain to build and create from basically nothing ! I learned to build habitats a while back in around 2011 from watching another carpenter freestyle a cage it was fascinating! I love to absorb and adapt to any hobby or craft to learning new things to help better an animals life I feel it’s all apart of the experience… your giving up your stubborn ways of what you like and see as fun and you observe yourself from the animals perspective and see what you can do as a positive experience in caring for an animal in captivity ! And a side note it makes you as a caregiver appreciate the animal in a greater perspective! Long story short everything takes time everything requires patience everything requires you to give it your all in order for you to succeed in anything ! You must attack your dreams, goals , happiness and have ambition towards it all Don’t stop get up get out and get some • Drop a in the comments if your chasing your dreams A post shared by Mike Holston (@therealtarzann) on Aug 29, 2019 at 11:16pm PDT

Middle Schooler Provides Classmates In Need With Clothes And School Supplies

A middle schooler from Louisiana is paying it forward by ensuring that his classmates have basic necessities to start the school year. To help students in need, 13-year-old Chase Neyland-Square created a closet at his school to provide them with free clothes and school supplies, CBS News reported. 13-year-old creates school closet to give clothes and supplies to classmates in need https://t.co/UCP3CBbjmD pic.twitter.com/pAre3ssKCa — CBS News (@CBSNews) August 30, 2019 Neyland-Square—an eighth-grader at Port Allen Middle School—came up with the concept for the project while participating in the school’s SPARK (Student Program for Arts, Recreation, and Knowledge) program. He and other students were tasked with developing ideas for social good initiatives that would benefit the school and the local community. Aware of the struggles faced by some of his peers, Neyland-Square decided to transform one of the closets at his school into PAM’s Pantry; a space that houses donated clothes, shoes, personal care and hygiene products and school supplies for students and their families. “I know that everybody doesn’t have things and I’m fortunate to have things that other people don’t have, and I look at it as sometimes, how would I feel in that situation?” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I’m going to come back and continue working on PAM’s Pantry. I’m hoping one day I can turn it into a non-profit organization.” Initiatives like the one being led by Neyland-Square are needed. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. Several youngsters are leading their own philanthropic efforts to help people in need. In celebration of their birthday, Alabama-based 12-year-olds Breanna and Brooke Bennett launched an initiative designed to provide care packages that include hygiene products for girls their age. In North Carolina, a 3-year-old entrepreneur donated the sales from her lemonade stand to help homeless mothers and children. Man With A Plan: Jason Momoa Reveals Why He’s Refusing To Shoot ‘Aquaman 2’

Source: Edward Berthelot / Getty Jason Momoa Is Protesting Construction On A Hawaiian Mountain Jason Momoa isn’t backing down over his disapproval of a construction project on Hawaii’s tallest mountain, Mauna Kea. Not only that, to make matters even more serious, the actor is letting fans know that he’s refusing to start work on Aquaman 2 until something is done. Right now, the project–known as Thirty Meter Telescope–is being built there, while Indigenous Hawaiians believe that shouldn’t happen because it’s the most sacred site on Earth. Momoa had already posted on Instagram from the site, but now, he’s making himself all the way clear that he’s had enough. “F**K THIS. And TMT is 4x bigger. Sorry Warner Bros we can’t shoot Aquaman 2. Because Jason got run over by a bulldozer trying to stop the desecration of his native land,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post. “THIS iS NOT HAPPENING. WE ARE NOT LETTING YOU DO THIS ANYMORE. Enough is enough. Go somewhere else. Repost. This is what telescope construction looks like (Subaru Telescope, 1992). The TMT will be four times larger on unscathed land. We must protect our scared mountain from further desecration.” View this post on Instagram FUCK THIS. And TMT is 4x bigger. Protestors were recently joined by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who also objected to the construction taking place on such a sacred location. “It’s not about stopping science. It’s about respecting a culture and respecting a people, and doing things the right way,” The Rock explained. “When things escalate to that emotional apex, that is a sign that something has to be done. And to full-charge-ahead isn’t the way to do it.” As for Momoa refusing to film Aquaman 2 , Warner Bros. hasn’t released a statement on the matter–but the film is still set for a December 2022 release.
