Man Dresses as Insanely Long CVS Receipt, Wins Halloween

There are few mysteries in life as confounding as this one: Why does CVS issue ridiculously long receipts for every single purchase? Especially after claiming back in 2013 that it would stop doing so ? We now have an answer: It has all been a build-up so that a man named Jeremy Schneider could dress as a 12-foot long CVS receipt for Halloween and win the holiday forever. Man Dresses as CVS Receipt, Goes Into CVS As you can see in the video above, however, Jeremy does more than merely dress up as a CVS receipt. He enters an actual CVS location and gets handed an actual receipt by an employee there. An employee who can’t help but crack up over what she sees in front of her, of course. And, yes, the receipt is as hilariously and pointlessly long as always. Here is a photo of Schneider earning the 2016 Halloween Champion crown. A job very well done by him, we must say. The previous contender for this honor was a 10-year old boy who went to school late last week dressed as Donald Trump’s hair . Yes, just his hair. Complete with a giant Make America Great Again baseball cap on top of this amazing creation: On the flip side, the person who came in last place for Best Halloween Costume of 2016 also came in first place for Most Disgraceful and Racist Halloween Costume of 2016. Congratulations? We guess? We refer, of course, to the person who attended a University of Wisconsin football game dressed as Donald Trump , carrying a noose that he placed around the neck of a friend in a Barack Obama mask. We’re not kidding. This really happened: Thank goodness there are enough celebrities out there who donned enough fun and zany costumes this year to distract us from such political nonsense. Check out the best celebrity Halloween costumes from this year below: View Slideshow: Halloween 2016: Celebrity Costumes Galore!

NYC Taxi Driver Calls Broadway Duo “N****r” And “F****t,” But Police Arrest THEM When They Demand To Be Let Out

Broadway Actors Called Slurs By Taxi Driver, Wrongly Arrested Two broadway stars have filed a lawsuit for unspecified damages after a racist run-in with an NYC taxi driver in which he hurled slurs at his passengers before having them arrested after falsely accusing them of skipping out on the fare. 30-year-old Christina Sajous, an African American actress who starred in the Broadway show “Spiderman: Turn off the Dark,” hailed a cab to Harlem with fellow actor, 34-year-old Ethan Paulini one year ago on September 11, 2014. According to the suit filed in Manhattan Federal court, the driver that picked them up refused to take the West Side Highway, despite the fact that it was the most direct route to their destination. When Sajous let the driver, 35-year-old Gregory Adolph, know that he needed to follow the route they suggested, he allegedly replied, “I don’t have to do anything for a n*****.” An understandably shocked Paulini responded, “What did you say?” to which Adolph replied, “Now the f***** got something to say.” Disgusted and offended, the pair insisted the driver immediately let them out of the vehicle, which was now near Central Park West, and claim they paid him $20 for the $19.50 fare. However Adolph refused to let them out of the car, insisting that they had to complete the journey because he wanted the full fare. He allegedly told them he didn’t want to pick up another passenger going downtown from the “filthy n***** neighborhood.” When the actors threatened to call the police, Adolph allegedly replied, “Who would believe a n***** and a f*****?” Apparently he was correct. When the actors exited the vehicle and tried to reach their destination by the nearest train, they were surrounded by police on the platform and told to return to the street. Adolph had told cops that the two refused to pay their fare at all. Paulini says he handed the taxi driver another $20 bill, saying, “If this makes you go away, please take it. Now I paid it twice,” before reaching into his pocket to show officers the receipt from his first payment to prove that Adolph was lying. Of course, the ever-rational NYPD officers immediately screamed at the man to never place his hands in his pockets around a police officer, and told him to show his receipt to the judge before pushing both actors inside a squad car and charging them with “resisting arrest” and skipping a cab fare. All charges against the pair were thrown out last year. Both are seeking monetary damages from the racist homophobic cab driver and the four NYPD officers who wrongly booked them. We hope they get EVERY penny. SMH. WENN

Do You Believe Him? Tennessee Man Denies Penning “N-Word” Tip To Black Red Lobster Waitress

No country for cheddar bay racism ! Man Denies Leaving Racial Slur On Red Lobster Receipt The customer at the center of a racial slur written on a Red Lobster receipt last month in Franklin is speaking out for the first time and says new evidence proves he didn’t write it. Via WSMV reports: “It’s been horrific. I mean, I just have been getting all these threats and everything,” said Red Lobster customer Devin Barnes. His name and his receipt wound up at the center of the scandal, but Barnes says he now has reason to breathe easier. “I’m not mad. I just didn’t like what happened. I just wish it didn’t come out this way,” he said. Several weeks ago, waitress Toni Jenkins posted a photo of her customer’s receipt online. “She was polite. She was cheerful,” Barnes said. But Barnes did not leave her a tip and says he left the total line blank. So, when the N-word somehow showed up on the receipt online, Barnes knew he was in trouble. “I didn’t do this,” he said. “I just asked my parents, ‘Why is this happening to me?’ I mean, I didn’t do nothing. Me and my wife were just trying to go out to eat, have a nice time.” Weeks ago, Barnes’ attorney and pastor, Richard Dugger, hired an independent handwriting expert who compared the receipt with samples provided by Barnes and his wife. “There is no evidence that neither Devin Barnes nor his wife wrote that hideous statement on the line total, which means that someone else did,” Dugger said. Would someone really admit to be a racist before the world? “Oh yeah I called that waitress a n*gger, yep that was me!”

Mom Gets Free Pizza From Waitress For Breastfeeding in Public

The act of breastfeeding in public is frequently debated in parenting circles, and seemingly more often than not, leads to criticism for the mothers involved. Not this time. Thanks to a generous waitress, Jackie Johnson-Smith recently had the exact opposite experience in an Iowa pizza parlor. Take a look at her receipt: How did this come about? Johnson-Smith shared her story on Facebook: “I have breastfed three children. I have breastfed them in countless of places both pleasant and unpleasant, discreetly and out in the open.” “I have gotten many looks and stares, but tonight erases any negativity I have ever received. I ate at Fongs for the first time tonight.” “Having a fussy baby I nursed him for awhile in the booth and eventually left the table early as to not disrupt the restaurant.” “The waitress gave this receipt to my husband. I was speechless and emotional.” “Although I don’t need a pat on the back for feeding my child, it felt amazing how we women can make each other feel when we empower each other.” So who was the woman behind the gesture? According to KCCI 8 News in Des Moines, Bodi Kinney is the waitress who wrote the note on her bill. “We need to come together and support each other when it comes to nursing our children,” Kinney told the news station in an interview. Others clearly agree. This comes on the heels of Hollie McNish ‘s incredible defense of breastfeeding in public that went viral this month. What do you think: Should moms breastfeed in public?   Of course! It’s totally natural! And besides, baby’s gotta eat! No way! That’s gross. She can do that somewhere else. View Poll »

Bikram Sex Scandal Leaves Yoga Community in Shock

Bikram Choudhury – the founder of a type of popular type of Yoga – is being sued by Sarah Baughn, a former student of the icon, for sexual discrimination and harassment. The lawsuit alleges that Bikram made numerous unwanted advances against Baughn and that she “fought him off when he sexually assaulted her.” She claims she was subsequently “punished and threatened” for her actions. Baughn – who has won many competitive Yoga championships – has included Bikram’s wife Rajashree (the president of USA Yoga, the organization that governs competitive Yoga) and Bikram’s Yoga College of India, because its staff repeatedly pushed her to keep quiet about their boss’ behavior. Baughn also claims that she was not Choudhury’s only victim. Her lawsuit details how the entire Bikram community has been forced to keep quit regarding their mentor’s behavior, writing as an odd example: “Some of the women were chosen to brush his hair and massage his body,” She adds that two other female Yoga champions slept with Bikram before winning titles. In any case, between this alleged scandal and Lululemon’s see-through yoga pants recall, it’s been quite the month for the wildly popular pastime.

Olive Garden Receipt Sparks Debate on Reddit: Good Deed or Marketing Hoax?

A photo of an Olive Garden receipt – for a free meal given to a family shaken up by a house fire – was shared on Reddit as a simple act of human kindness. Now it’s been picked apart and accused of being a sham. “My brother, wife, 3-year-old daughter and I went to Olive Garden after a recent house fire at my parents,” Reddit user Tanek42 wrote on the site Tuesday. “When the manager asked how everything was, my daughter said, ‘Grandpa’s house burned down.’ We talked for a bit. Here’s how we received the bill.” Total balance due: $0.00. While a few people responded with kudos for the OG manager, many more were skeptical, alleging that this was actually some viral marketing effort. “Why does it say “Duplicate Receipt – Stored Order”? Is this an indication that this is a copy of the receipt, and it may be the manager posting this?” asked one user. Others pointed out that the OG logo was a little too perfectly placed. Before long, the man, or “OP [original poster]” stood accused of working for a company called Grey Worldwide, which is OG’s advertising agency. The image, and the outrage, quickly went viral, prompting Olive Garden’s parent company, Darden, to defend itself and its customers from hoax theories. “The receipt is real and was posted by the guests, not by anyone at Olive Garden or Darden,” said Tara Gray, communication manager for Darden. “We are always looking for ways to surprise and delight guests, and this was one of the ways the Olive Garden team in Vernon Hills, Ill., did that last weekend.” Darden’s marketing firm, Grey Worldwide, also denied any role in it. “Grey had absolutely nothing to do with post concerning Olive Garden,” a representative told Consumerist . “It would be against our code of conduct.” The original poster later chimed in with more details: “At Olive Garden, we were talking to my brother about the fire when the manager stopped by,” he explained. “He asked how everything was and my daughter blurted out ‘Grandpa’s house burned down’. He asked what she just said, and she repeated herself.” “He asked a couple of details like where it happened, when, and if my family had somewhere to stay. I did not expect the bill to get paid, but it was very nice of them!” He laughs at users who still say he’s a marketing maven. “I wish they paid me!” he posted Wednesday afternoon. “I do love Olive Garden, but I don’t work for them. My story is real, sorry to disappoint the mob!”

10 Ways To Avoid Overdraft Fees

Visit link:

US Banks take in over $38 billion in overdraft fees, which equate to more than 75% of the fees they charge on consumer deposits period. With the economy so tight these days, do you really have additional money to throw out the window? As I often remind my clients, banks are not charities; they will capitalize off of you as much as you allow them to. Sure it’s highway robbery to be charged an average of $35 for taking a quick swipe at McDonald’s, but the bottom line is if you didn’t have the money in your account, it’s your fault. Banks don’t care if the kids where whining about a happy meal. Your negligence just cost the family $35 for a toy that costs $0.035 cents (yes, less than a nickel) to produce. If this happens to you a couple times a month, we’re talking about nearly $1000 a year that could go towards paying down debt, building up emergency savings or even college and retirement planning. So, here are a few ways to avoid those pesky overdraft fees. • Keep your Register Updated . Simply put, if you don’t know how much money is in your checking account right now, then you are at risk of overdrawing your account. Many people falsely believe that keeping a check register in their head is a good idea. It’s inevitable that you will forget something. Instead, make it a habit by entering each check or debit card purchase as it is made. Set aside time when you get home to check your receipts and balance your register. Do this every time you spend, and soon it will be second nature. • Don’t Forget ATM Withdrawals . One of the easiest ways to lose track of your money is to forget to record cash you withdraw from an ATM. It happens to people all the time – they forget to record the withdrawal and when the bank statement comes they find out they have hundreds of dollars less than they thought. Nip this potential problem in the bud by always getting an ATM receipt. Place the receipt in a safe place. When you get home refer to the receipt to enter the withdrawal into your register. • Remember to Record Automatic Payments. Having your utility or insurance company automatically take payments out of your checking account can be very convenient. Overdrawing your account because you forgot to record an automatic payment is unquestionably inconvenient. READ MORE Birdman: Birdbrain Or Businessman? Are You Suffering From “Frugal Fatigue?”
