Friends In High Places: Malika & Khadijah Haqq Get Their Own Kardashian Spin-Off Show

Haqq Twins Get Their Own Reality Show Kris Jenner knows how to keep a check rolling in. While many speculated that young Kylizzle would be the next Kardashian-centric offspring to get her own spin-off (since she’s enhancing herself overtime and grabbing all the shine these days), it looks like they’re choosing to shift the focus away from the family itself. Malika & Khadijah Haqq, Khloe’s right hand twins are going to be featured on an upcoming reality series about the family help…employees at their famous DASH stores. “DASH Dolls” will follow the day to day lives of the retail employees at the Kardashian boutiques. Via an E! Press Release: “Kim, Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian made a mark on the fashion industry with the opening of their upscale DASH boutiques. Now viewers will have the opportunity to follow the lives of the Kardashian sisters’ young, fun and hot employees as they navigate the hectic life of a twenty-something in Hollywood while representing the Kardashian brand. This new generation of boutique girls takes on the glamorous lifestyle that comes with managing one of today’s most recognizable franchises, owned by three famous and often demanding bosses, while juggling romances, parties, family drama and other career aspirations. The new eight episode, one-hour series features and is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions and Ryan Seacrest Productions. Executive producers are Jonathan Murray, Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam, Kris Jenner, Ryan Seacrest, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian.” We didn’t realize either of the twins were folding shirts at DASH on Saturday afternoons…especially Khadijah, who’s married to Saints baller Bobby McCray and lives in New Orleans full time. But with the magic of reality TV, anything is possible, right? Will you be watching?? Wenn/SplashNews

Cut The Check: Walmart Pays $10 Million Settlement To Comedian James McNair Who Died In Tracy Morgan Crash

James McNair’s Family Paid $10 Million By Walmart For His Death In Tracy Morgan Car Crash ‘Bout damn time! Via DNAifno The family of a comedian friend of Tracy Morgan who was killed last June when a Wal-Mart truck crashed into a luxury van he was riding in got $10 million from the retail giant to settle a lawsuit, DNAinfo New York has learned. Wal-Mart made the large payout to the family of James McNair to avoid potential losses from litigation, the McNair family’s lawyer said in court papers. Under the settlement, McNair’s two children, Jamel, 26, and Denita, 19, will split the payout after their lawyer, Daryl Zaslow, takes a nearly $3 million cut, according to court records. The children had sued Wal-Mart after one of its trucks slammed into a limousine van carrying McNair, Morgan and other comedians on the New Jersey Turnpike on June 7, 2014. New Jersey police charged the truck’s driver, Kevin Roper, with death by automobile and four other vehicle assault charges. The McNairs signed the settlement in October, but the deal wasn’t announced until January. At the time, the terms of the settlement were not revealed because of a confidentiality agreement both sides signed. But legal documents filed last month in Westchester Surrogate’s Court revealed the big payout to James McNair’s estate — and that Wal-Mart did not want the settlement sum publicized for fear it would hurt business. Congratulations to the McNair family. No amount of money can even come close to replacing a person you love, but hopefully this money will allow them to live a comfortable life in his absence. R.I.P. Kush Chronic-les: Budding Businessman Founds America’s First Starbucks-Like Marijuana Retail Store!

Can you imagine a world where you can purchase piff on every street corner like coffee? Diego Pellicer Looks To Become America’s First Marijuana Retail Store You may not have to imagine it for much longer… Via ABCNews America’s newly legalized marijuana industry is attracting corporate cash and entrepreneurs who want to transform the business from plants in plastic bags sold on street corners to branded experiences in well-outfitted stores. Jamen Shively, founder of Diego Pellicer, the first retail brand in the U.S. to market legal, premium marijuana, says the plant is an “incredible boost to creativity”–the company itself bloomed from a “brainstorm session with cannabis.” As with other products like clothes, coffee, and technology, the corporate suppliers are moving to provide diversity in variety, service and quality during this Green Rush. Like Starbucks and its Teavana boutiques, Diego Pellicer will be using a retail store strategy within this untapped recreational cannabis industry. They plan to open a pot retail store within the next year in the Washington state, which, along with Colorado, recently legalized pot for recreational use. Many other states allow legal sales of pot, but only for medicinal use, though getting a license to buy has few barriers in many localities. Shively’s vision is to capitalize on the current national market for marijuana, estimated to be valued at $100 billion, which includes the black illegal market and the medical pot market. There is no national marijuana brand, and he says, this leaves the field wide open for creativity in selling marijuana to consumers–Diego Pellicer’s strategy with its Weed Harmony brand. LOL @ “Weed Harmony” “Think of this as an E-Harmony.com of cannabis,” says Shively. The company’s marketing plan is to help customers select their brand by matching types of marijuana to different personality types. While there are many entrepreneurs entering the recreational marijuana market, there are questions on how the federal government, which does not recognize legalized sales to the general public, will respond. Jeffrey Miron, an economist at Harvard University, says that he is “guardedly optimistic” the industry will be allowed to bloom. “A fully legalized market,” he says, could generate “$20 billion in annual retail sales.” Currently, Diego Pellicer has two operating retail centers with Northwest Patient Resource Center (NWPRC) for Medical Marijuana. Diego Pellicer is working with them to develop designs and logistics for the Diego stores, and incorporating the best companies from within NWPRC’s network into the Diego Network, says Shively. The business seems set for a long expansion. This month, Colorado took its first legal recreational marijuana store applications. Dispensaries such as Sweet Mary Jane Edibles plan to apply to have a bakery shop with cannabis- filled treats in the next year. Nothing was the same… Image via Diego Pellicer Continue reading

Walmart Worker Fired For Helping Woman Fight Off Attacker in Parking Lot

A former Walmart worker says the retail giant fired him for trying to help a woman from being attacked in the parking lot of a southeastern Michigan store. Kristopher Oswald, 30, tells WXYZ-TV that the Hartland Township store managers gave him papers saying they were dismissing him for “policy violations.” Fired Walmart Worker Oswald says he was on break at 2:30 a.m. Sunday. He saw a man grabbing a woman and asked her if she needed help. The man began attacking him. According to Oswald, he was able to get on top of the man, but two other men started attacking him. County sheriff’s deputies arrived to halt the fight. A spokeswoman for Bentonville, Ark. corporation said that while the management team understood Oswald’s intentions, his actions violated company policy. Walmart’s reasoning on the papers states that “after a violation of company policy on his lunch break, it was determined to end his temporary assignment.” Oswald only began working for Walmart seven weeks ago and wouldn’t have been considered a permanent hire until a 180-day probation period ended. Oswald acknowledges that Walmart has policies against workplace violence to prevent employees from assaulting co-workers or tackling a shoplifter. Yet he believes that given the circumstances – imminent danger and self-defense – he had no choice, and added, “I will always do the right thing.” When asked if he would take his job at Walmart back if it were offered to him, Oswald sighed, hesitated and then said that he wasn’t sure about that. UPDATE : After the story went viral, Walmart offered him his job back . A spokesperson said after reviewing the facts, Oswald’s actions do not warrant termination. No word if he intends to return to work.

OtterBox Defender Series Case for iPhone 5 – Retail Packaging review

I got my iPhone 5 today (through carrier sources) though it#39;s yet to be activated and the first thing I did naturally was put the Otterbox Defender case on it. I had the Defender for my 3GS and it protected my phone all these years. Didn#39;t have the iPhone 4/4S so I can#39;t compare it to that. Quick impressions so far: PROTECTION – Protection wise, the iPhone 5 Defender is at par with the 3GS. Industrial grade protection with complete coverage. Same concept and overall design, though the
