Robert Griffin III Prepares For Divorce Just months after the Redskins announced plans to cut RGIII , he’s announced that he’s cutting his wife Rebecca. Things have been rocky for RGIII and his Becky…and apparently the baller wants out — sooner than later. Via TMZsports : Robert Griffin III’s marriage is just about over … the NFL star has separated from his wife and the two are in the process of filing for a divorce … this according to Cleveland.com. The Browns QB married college sweetheart Rebecca Liddicoat in 2013 and just last year she gave birth to a baby girl. But Griffin has reportedly told his teammates and coaches that the marriage has hit a wall — and both parties are going their separate ways. And get this … RG3 has already scrubbed his Instagram page of all traces of Rebecca. RG3 is said to be having a tough time with the situation — but he’s working through it with the support of family and friends. Well we bet Rebecca is wiping her tears nicely inside her Bentley . We wonder if these two have a prenup…

Meredith Barber: Robert Griffin III Sent Me Racy Texts on His Wedding Day!

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is accused of sending an incriminating text to a Hooters waitress … on his own wedding day. Hooters girl and Virginia Commonwealth University student Meredith Barber offered up “proof” in the form of a screen shot of their text exchange. “Come on bae,” the QB reportedly wrote to Barber before sending a shirtless image of himself with his head cut off, along with a smiley face icon. When Meredith Barber (right) didn’t respond to the NFL star’s alleged advances, he wrote, “Well ok I give up I guess. See you in a few weeks kid.” The texts were dated July 6, in the early hours of RG III’s wedding day to longtime girlfriend Rebecca Liddicoat (left). But are they even legit? It appears that RG3 does know Barber, or at least someone in his camp does … but the relationship is far from clear, and her story is being disputed. One of Griffin’s groomsman, William Mallow, knows Barber and denied the reports , saying, “We both know that Meredith is looking for attention/money.” “I know this is what you do for a living and you thought this would be a golden opportunity but the fact of the matter is that this is completely false,” he wrote. “I was with Robert [that night] and there was no texting of other girls, much less selfie stomach shots. That isn’t even close to what the bathroom of the suite we were in looked like.” Weirder still, Barber contacted Busted Coverage when this story went live, asking them to take it down, but in exchange offering to sell more “inappropriate pictures.” Someone also claiming to be Barber’s ex-boyfriend reached out to Deadspin to sell “information, text messages, FaceTime screenshots” and more to back up her story. Neither Deadspin or Busted Coverage have purchased any of the proof. RGIII was reportedly on his honeymoon in Europe when the news broke.

Rob Parker Let Go By ESPN

Rob Parker will not be returning to ESPN in 2013. The reporter was suspended for 30 days last month following a rant on First Take against Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. While discussing the rookie’s role as an African-American signal caller, Parker questioned the star’s “blackness,” citing Griffin’s white fiancée and rumored status as a Republican. “Is he a brother or a cornball brother ?” Parker, who is also black, actually asked. Rob Parker Robert Griffin III Rant Parker later Tweeted an apology , but ESPN said today in a statement: “Rob Parker’s contract expired at year’s end. Evaluating our needs and his work, including his recent RG III comments, we decided not to renew his deal.”

The Washington Redskins’ season went from dream to nightmare in the course of one half last night, as the team blew a 14-0 lead in the first quarter… and then quarterback Robert Griffin III blew out his knee in the fourth quarter. As a result, talk in the nation’s capital today isn’t of the team’s 24-14 loss to the Seahawks, but of how serious an injury Griffin suffered. And whether Coach Mike Shanahan should have taken him out as soon as his limp became noticeable. “I think I did put myself at more risk by being out there,” said Griffin, who missed a game earlier this season with a sprained MCL. “But every time you get on the field, you’re putting yourself on the line.” Griffin, though, said he believes himself to be Washington’s “best option” under center and Shanahan said he talked to his star throughout the game. “He said, ‘Hey, trust me. I want to be in there, and I deserve to be in there,’ ” Shanahan told reporters. “I couldn’t disagree with him.” But for the long-term health of his franchise, considering Griffin may have torn a ligament, should he have? Rob Parker: Suspended By ESPN for Racially Divisive Robert Griffin III Comments

Another day, another racially charged story from the world of sports. Not long after Caroline Wozniacki’s Serena Williams impression drew charges of racism, Rob Parker of ESPN has called out Robert Griffin III. The newspaper columnist, who is African-American, appeared on First Take this morning and said of the Redskins star rookie quarterback: “Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? He’s not real. Okay, he’s black, he kind of does the thing, but he’s not really down with the cause.” “He’s not one of us. He’s kind of black, but he’s not really, like, the guy you want to hang out with because he’s off to something else.” Parker continued: “We all know he has a white fiancee. There was all this talk about how he’s a Republican … Tiger Woods was like, ‘I’ve got black skin but don’t call me black.'” ESPN didn’t waste any time in punishing Parker for his view, with spokesman Mike Soltys telling FoxNews.com that his network has suspended the journalist and is “conducting a full review.” Former Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy has made his opinion well-known on Twitter, writing: “Rob Parker may have had worst commentary I have ever heard concerning Robert Griffin III.” Do you agree?
