Liz & Dick was kind of a pretty terrible movie, and Lindsay Lohan really phoned it in as the lead, with her performance as Elizabeth Taylor bordering on laughable. Okay … not bordering on. It was laughable. Lohan’s chemistry with co-star Grant Bowler was non-existent, her accent inconsistent, her tone unconvincing, and her voice raspy. In short, it was impossible to see her as … not Lindsay Lohan. See our Liz & Dick review for further analysis … or just watch some of the most (unintentionally) hilarious scenes from the Lifetime film in this awesome montage: Liz & Dick: Lindsay Lohan LOL Moments
Deborah Raffin, who enjoyed successful careers as an actress and publisher, has died. The 7th Heaven star was 59 and reportedly had battled leukemia for about a year. Starting out, the blonde Californian was often compared to the young Grace Kelly. Her mother, Trudy Marshall, had been a bit player for 20th Century Fox in the ’40s. Through no fault of her own, Raffin made a string of bad movies in the ’70s, including 40 Carats and Jacqueline Susann’s Once Is Not Enough . Nevertheless, she kept her face and figure before the public as a fashion model. She met her future husband, manager and, ultimately, business partner, Michael Viner, on a blind date in 1974, and they married four months later. Ten years later, they founded Dove Books-on-Tape, which they expanded into a highly successful book publishing and movie and TV production. Before her prolific publishing career, Deborah Raffin served as co-executive producer on 1,600 titles and line-produced more than 400 audio books. On the CW’s 7th Heaven , she also starred as Aunt Julie from 1996-2007. The Viners’ marriage ended in divorce in 2005; he died of cancer in 2009. Raffin is survived by a brother, sister and a daughter, Taylor Rose Viner.
Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded — The Re-Up features many songs already included on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded , the album Nicki Minaj released in April. But this singer doesn’t cite that doubling up as the reason her latest EP is faring so poorly. So, where does Minaj place the blame? On the shoulders of two retail giants. “It is hard to get the album because the stores basically said that the last few re-releases they had put out did not do well and they didn’t want to take a chance,” the new American Idol judge told New York’s 105.1 this weekend. ”So, Target and Walmart is not selling the album. Target is actually my biggest retailer – they’ve always been my biggest retailer. They’ve sold the most Nicki Minaj albums ever, so, thank you, Target. But I wish you could’ve sold this one.” Minaj also says Best Buy only “took limited [quantities]” of the new release, adding in a defensive manner: “So it’s very difficult and it kind of sets you up to fail” because fans “have been driving hours – literally hours! — to get one CD. But it is what it is, and I appreciate the support, and I’m excited about the music.”
See there’s this thing called iTunes… but apparently Nicki thinks all of her sales come from Walmart customers. Whining about the busted sales of her repackaged, old azz material, Nicki’s throwing stores like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart under the bus. According to The Huffington Post , Nicki admits that the re-release wasn’t even carried by some retailers: When asked in an interview with Power 105.1 if it was hard to purchase “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up,” Minaj responded, “It is hard to get the album because the stores basically said that the last few re-releases they had put out did not do well and they didn’t want to take a chance. So, Target and Walmart is not selling the album. Target is actually my biggest retailer — they’ve always been my biggest retailer. They’ve sold the most Nicki Minaj albums ever, so, thank you, Target. But I wish you could’ve sold this one.” Minaj continued, “Best Buy only took limited because they’re like ‘Oh no, we want to play it safe,’ so it’s very difficult and it kind of sets you up to fail.” The singer’s second album, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded,” debuted at number one on Billboard with 253,000 copies sold in the album’s first week. The re-release, “Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up” hit stores on Nov. 19. “At the end of the day, I was happy I was able to put the music out,” Minaj said. Maybe it’s the quality that’s effecting your sales? Just sayin’. Images via WENN
