Les Hinton resigned

US businessman Les Hinton, CEO of Dow Jones Company and publisher of the Wall Street Journal, arrives a house where Rupert Murdoch was staying in central London, Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Hinton was the executive chairman of the embattled News International, the corporate umbrella of News of the World, before taking the position at News Corp.-owned Dow Jones. His tenure coincided with much of the hacking and police payoffs that led to the British tabloid#39;s closure last week. Les Hinton, chief

Before Keith Olbermann created his own little empire at Current TV (and, yes, did the whole MS NBC thing), he worked as an anchor at Fox Sports. On Tuesday night’s Countdown , he talked about being blackmailed the company for reporting that Rupert Murdoch was trying to sell the Los Angeles Dodgers . “They offered an alternative. They would cut my work schedule not to five days, but to three, and they… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : The Wire Discovery Date : 13/07/2011 21:07 Number of articles : 2

Details on the phone hacking scandal have been largely absent from US news. For months, an unfolding story centered on tabloids hacking into phones has been taking shape in the UK. But, just recently, The Guardian reported News of the World targeted “missing schoolgirl Milly Dowler and her family in March 2002, interfering with police inquiries into her disappearance.” This revelation indicates not… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Firedoglake Discovery Date : 08/07/2011 01:02 Number of articles : 2

VIDEO: Glimpse 19 Seconds of James Franco and Anne Hathaway’s Grease Oscar Routine

So I’m in the middle of this project about James Franco and Twitter, a tech-culture marriage proving increasingly curious by the hour. And the next thing I know, there’s the man himself, dancing with his Oscar co-host Anne Hathaway in what one can only presume is a tribute to Grease set to be performed at the Academy Awards.

Details of Black List Script About Rupert Murdoch Finally Revealed

Did you ever imagine what it would be like to hear Rupert Murdoch scream at Steve Jobs on the telephone? If Murdoch gets made, you’ll get your chance! Forbes got a hold of Jesse Armstrong’s Black Listed script about the News Corp mogul, and in addition to that scene — plus one of Murdoch dyeing his own hair in the bathroom sink — there is plenty of Shakespearean drama for some intrepid filmmaker to sink his or her teeth into. Of course, no one is actually planning to produce Murdoch , presumably because they don’t want to feel the wrath of its subject. Perhaps the Steve Jobs scene is a little too convincing? Prince William and Kate Middleton Will Get Married in Two Dimensions

Sad news for fans of over-hype: The royal family will not allow Rupert Murdoch to broadcast the already over-hyped wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in 3-D, despite the fact that the Murdoch-owned Sky News has the ability to do so. “I’m afraid I have to say that we have decided not to progress with 3-D coverage of the service on this occasion,” said Prince Charles’ press secretary in a statement. (Any chance her name is Moneypenny?) Fingers crossed for a crappy post-conversion 3-D DVD release spearheaded by M. Night Shyamalan. [ NYO ]
