Jordan’s Sundance Film Festival flirtation caught the attention of more than one onlooker apparently… Sources told Page Six the stars of ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’ and ‘Black Panther’ arrived to Tao’s Park City pop-up separately but “within 10 minutes of each other,” and wasted no time spending the entire time together! A source said: “They were put at separate VIP tables, but Kiki quickly made her way over to Michael’s table. And they seriously never left each other’s side. Canoodling to the max.” The source added, “She would have her hand on the back of his head rubbing it as he whispered in her ear and [he] kept kissing her cheek.” Even though “it was clear to everyone in the room that they were together,” the source surmised, we hear that the stars’ entourages were “protective about them not taking a photo together.” Jordan and Layne also left the event at the same time. Rubbing the back of his head, eh? Y’all know what that means… Chocolatey smithereens!
Source: Phillip Faraone / Getty Mindy Kaling To Star In Comedy About Diversity In Writers Rooms Amazon just closed a $13 million deal for Late Night , a comedy about diversity in a late night talk show writers room that is written, produced, and stars Mindy Kaling . This marks the first major sale out of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Late Night is set to co-star Emma Thompson as a comic who begrudgingly takes an Indian-American writer (played by Kaling) under her wing after she is shamed into hiring more women and minorities. In her cover story for Variety , Kaling said that she saw Late Night as a chance to retell a familiar story of someone trying to break into the entertainment business, but from a fresh perspective. “So much of this movie is about being a fan and being on the outside of the entertainment business,” she told Variety . “That story has been told many, many, many times by 52-year-old white men, and I love all those movies. And as a comedy nerd I’ve always identified with them because it was the closest thing that I could identify with. There was no one like me making those kind of films.” Late Night was originally set up at Fox 2000 with Paul Feig slated to direct the comedy, but plans changed following Kaling’s pregnancy and an illness in Thompson’s family resulted in the start date getting pushed back. Once production finally began, Kaling lined up independent financing and tapped Nisha Ganatra to direct. Late Night also co-stars John Lithgow, Amy Ryan, and Ike Barinholtz.

That’s right, the flick exploring rapper Roxanne Shanté ‘s life, Roxanne Roxanne, will hit Netflix on March 23. It’ll follow Roxanne’s journey of hustling on the streets of New York to entering a legendary rap beef with hip hop group U.T.F.O , kicking off what’s known as the Roxanne Wars in the 80s. Roxanne Roxanne will star Mahershala Ali , Nia Long , and breakout talent Chanté Adams . Based on the trailer below, it’s sure to be an emotional ride.
Lena Dunham Conflates Lil Wayne And Lil Jon We’re not even 30 days into 2015 and we already have a moment that tweeters, journalists, and TV talking heads will likely use to discuss how white folks view black folks as a monolith who think, speak, and even LOOK exactly alike. ‘Girls’ creator Lena Dunham has found herself at the helm of yet another controversy. This time, the oft-nude and poorly built actress has graduated from TMI tales of sexually molesting her sister , and moved onto another of the seven deadly media faux pas, confusing two different black people. Jackson would NOT be happy about this… Yesterday, Lena posted a list of her celebrity sightings at this year’s Sundance Film Festival Apparently Lena and her friend were convinced that they had seen Lil Wayne traipsing around Utah. Well, Wayne was not in Utah. He was in Miami, s**tting on his “daddy “. At some point either Lena realized that she gaffed, her Instagram comments were calling her all kinds of “stupid hoes”, or perhaps both. Ashamed of how many names I spelled wrong. Also we may have seen Lil Jon and written down Lil Wayne. F*****g unacceptable.
