Scotty McCreery is growing accustomed to finishing in first place. The talented young country crooner did so on American Idol in May, of course, and now he’s done so again on the Billboard Top 200. McCreery’s debut album, “Clear as Day,” sold 197,000 copies in its first week out, according to Nielsen SoundScan, placing it atop that chart. Scotty McCreery – I Love You This Big “My head is just spinning,” Scotty says. “It started out kind of low: They said 100,000 maybe. Then every day I saw the numbers climbing. It’s wild: It wasn’t a year ago that I was a normal cat, and now I’m number one on Billboard. It’s insane, it really is.” McCreery is the first Idol champion to hit number-one with his initial release since Ruben Studdard in 2003. Lauren Alaina , meanwhile, released her first effort this week and will try to match Scotty’s total.
Joe Jonas has released the official studio version of “Just in Love” one of the first solo efforts from this talented young artist. It would be exciting enough news under any conditions, but now we have this possibility to consider: might he be singing about Taylor Swift? Those two might get back together . Joe Jonas – Just in Love “I am very excited to premiere my new single ‘Just In Love’ for you guys,” Joe wrote on his website today. “This is a song I wrote when I was going through a relationship with somebody. She was arguing with me, and all I could do was say ‘Listen, I love you, but we don’t need to go through this.’ So, this this is called ‘Just In Love.'” What do you think?
‘The dude can dance, sing and rap … he’s a talented young brother,’ Jay Rock says of his ‘Westside’ collabo with Brown. By Rob Markman Jay Rock Photo: MTV News Jay Rock is known to keep it gangsta, but on “Westside,” a track off of his debut album Follow Me Home, the Watts, Los Angeles, MC slows it down with Chris Brown on the hook. The song, produced by Tha Bizness, serves as an ode to the allure of Hollywood. “Basically, it’s just tellin’ a young chick, if you wanna come to the West Coast, we’ll book you a flight. Come hang out with us and have a good time,” Rock told MTV News. “It’s a wonderful record. It’s for the ladies.” Brown, who is known for chart toppers like 2005’s breakout single “Run It” and his current hit “Look at Me Now,” didn’t have a chemistry problem with underground fave Jay Rock. In fact, the rapper says that the union came together rather easily. “That’s my dude, I done seen him a couple of times in the streets and holla’d at him. We exchanged numbers and we kept in touch,” Jay said. “He’s a busy dude and he was doin’ a video and I was like, ‘Man I got this record.’ He was like, ‘All right man, when I get finished doing this video, I’m going to go to the studio and come through.’ And it was just like that.” Once in the studio, Brown laid down his vocals in no time. “He did the hook within 15-20 minutes. That dude, he grinds and he had other stuff that he had to do, but he still [did it].” The result is a smooth, breezy tune whose lyrics invite a lover for a Westside rendezvous. And while fans may find the pairing of CB and Jay Rock a bit surprising, the rapper can’t say enough about his multitalented collaborator. “The thing is, that dude, he’s talented,” he said. “The dude can dance, sing and rap. He got all the characteristics and he’s a talented young brother. I can respect him.” Related Artists Chris Brown Jay Rock

Not so fast, Aaron Kelly ! While American Idol viewers are already comparing the aforementioned season nine contestant with David Archuleta, the former runner-up proved this week that he won’t be replaced without a fight. The talented young singer took to the stage with Jordin Sparks at the 2010 Jordin Sparks Experience, a pre-Super Bowl event held at Miami Beach on Wednesday night. Don’t they look adorable together? The former American Idol alumni performed a duet to “No Air,” the single Sparks originally made famous with Chris Brown. Could she have replaced Brown with anyone more opposite from him? We doubt it. This, of course, is a big compliment to David. The day he beats his girlfriend is the day Jon Gosselin starts caring about his kids. Watch the pair entertain the crowd below.
