Senator Kamala Harris Says She’s “Disappointed” In Jussie Smollett

More:

Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN The nation is thoroughly disturbed as we all try to figure out if Jussie Smollett really got himself attacked last month. After Jussie was accused of staging the hate crime, and subsequently charged with felony disorderly conduct, many public figures have spoken out about the bizarre story—including, Senator Kamala Harris.  Harris, who after finding out Smollett had been attacked hailed him as one of the “kindest” and “most gentle human beings” she knows, now says she is “disappointed.” “Like most of you, I’ve seen the reports about Jussie Smollett, and I’m sad, frustrated and disappointed. When anyone makes false claims to police, it not only diverts resources away from serious investigations but it makes it more difficult for other victims of crime to come forward,” she wrote in a statement, according to The Grio . Despite frustration with Smollett, Harris doesn’t want us to forget that hate crimes are on the rise , stating “ At the same time, we must speak the truth: hate crimes are on the rise in America. Just last year, the FBI released statistics that revealed a 17 percent increase in the number of hate crimes in America.Part of the tragedy of this situation is that it distracts from that truth, and has been seized by some who would like to dismiss and downplay the very real problems that we must address. We should not allow that. I will always condemn racism and homophobia. We must always confront hate directly, and we must always seek justice. That is what I will keep fighting for.” Click here to get caught up on the details surrounding Smollett’s case…it really is one of the most bizarre stories we’ve come across. Photo: WENN

Pink And Green POTUS 2020? Kamala Harris To Announce Presidential Bid On Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Source: MARK RALSTON / Getty Kamala Harris Likely To Announce Run For President On MLK Jr. Day Kamala Harris appears ready to take on Donald Trump in a Presidential campaign unlike any other in America’s history. The year 2020 will be the year that the United States either purges its highest office of racism, misogyny, and crass arrogance, or it finally accepts that its premise of exceptionalism, inclusion, and equality is wholly a farce. According to KCBS , sources close to say Senator Harris will likely make her announcement on the apt Martin Luther King Jr. Day at a campaign rally in her hometown of Black a$$ Oakland. Another spokesperson told The Hill that no announcement is planned and Senator Harris isn’t scheduled to be in the Bay Area during the holiday. We call shenanigans. Sounds like they just don’t want word getting out ahead of their event. Every single time Senator Harris appears on TV, she’s asked if she plans to run and usually responds with some variation of “Nah, I’m not quite reaady”. There are reports that her team is debating HOW to make this announcement and that’s what’s keeping her for letting the cat out of the bag. Are you ready to see Kamala Harris bust Donald Trump up in 2020? Continue reading

Pete Davidson: I’m Getting Ariana Grande Pregnant with a Trap Baby!

It's been a few months now since Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson got engaged. Well, to be specific, it's been a few months now since they started dating and then immediately got engaged . But hey, they're still going strong, and that's what's important! These two have definitely had a whirlwind relationship though, that's for sure. They started dating in May, a few days after that he started getting tattoos in her honor, and a few days after that he began designing her engagement ring. About two weeks later, he received the ring and proposed. And we all know she said yes! There's been several rumors about them since then, like the one about how they're moving so fast because she's pregnant . It's been a while since that one started, so it's kind of been forgotten about. But according to some things Pete said during last night's season premiere of Saturday Night Live, there may just be some truth there! During the Weekend Update segment, host Colin Jost brought Pete out “to talk about how he spent his summer.” About his eventful summer, Pete said “I got engaged, and no one could believe it, and I can't believe it.” “Yeah, I get it,” he continued. “She's the number one pop star in the world and I'm the guy from SNL that everyone thinks is in desperate need of more blood.”' He also said that things have been pretty wild since he started dating Ariana. “You remember when that whole city pretended that kid was Batman 'cause he was, like, sick?” he asked. “That's what this feels like.” When asked about all the new attention he's been getting for the past few months, he laughed and said “I hate it, it's awful.” He said that it was “so scary,” and that he'd been getting death threats.   “It's Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, and Pete Davidson are all people who have gotten death threats,” he joked. Next, Colin asked about a prenup, which Pete said that he “obviously” wanted. “God forbid we split up and she takes half my sneakers!” he explained. On a slightly more serious note, he insisted that he's “totally comfortable being with a successful woman,” and that they even live in an apartment that belongs to Ariana. “She pays like 60 grand for rent and all I have to do is stock the fridge.” When Colin said that men don't have to be the breadwinner in relationships, Pete strongly agreed. He also said “Last night I switched her birth control with Tic Tacs.” When the audience audibly reacted to that, he defended himself with “No, I believe in us and all, but you know, I just wanna make sure that she can't go anywhere.” Colin finished up the interview by bringing up Ariana's song on her new album named after Pete, which Pete said was “sick.” As he pointed out, he actually gets royalties for the song. Which is neat, he argued, because if they ever break up, then in ten years “there will be a song called 'Pete Davidson' playing in speakers at K-Mart, and I'll be working there.” Obviously this whole interview is a joke, even if it is based on Pete's real relationship. But it's nice to see that he's comfortable enough with Ariana that he can make jokes like this, you know? Watch the full interview in the video below:

#HarleyBarber: Clotted Cream Co-Ed Apologizes After She’s Expelled For Her Racist Rant

This is Harley Barber. Harley Barber is AΦ and thinks that she can throw around the N word and not be held accountable for her actions. @UofAlabama let’s prove her wrong. Racism and Bigotry will not and can not be tolerated. Period. pic.twitter.com/oKp8KlNMfo — Brittney K (@_thebrittneyk) January 16, 2018 Harley Barber Expelled Don’t be sorry now, stupid. That’s the message that’s being sent to Harley Barber, a University of Alabama student whose racist rant went viral. As previously reported the audacious Alpha Phi sorority member posted several videos calling black people “n***rs” and adding that she can drop the N-word freely because she’s in the south. “We do not waste water,” said Barber in a video of herself turning off a water faucet. “We don’t waste water because of people in Syria. I love how I act like I love black people because I f–king hate n—–s. So, that’s really interesting — I f—king hate n—–s, but I just saved the f–king n—–s by shutting that water off.” She later added this in another video after receiving backlash; ““I’ve wanted to be in Alpha Phi since f–king high school and nobody f—king understands how much I love Alpha Phi,” Barber says, staring directly at the camera. “And now someone wants to save my finsta because I said n—-r? You know what? N—-r, n—-r, n—-r. I don’t care if it’s Martin Luther King Day.” Watch ya clotted cream mouth beyotch. The New Jersey native has now been expelled from Alabama and she’s apologizing for being a rancid racist in an interview with The New York Post. “I did something really, really bad,” Barber told The Post. “I don’t know what to do and I feel horrible. I’m wrong and there’s just no excuse for what I did.” Asked if she considered the advice from one of her friends who suggested that Barber not post the videos, Barber replied: “No, I’m an idiot. There’s no excuse. I did something really bad.” See what happens when you’re a wasted dollop of dumpster mayo??? Harley Barber is an example of how your right to free speech does not protect you from the repercussions of said speech. — Monique Judge (@thejournalista) January 17, 2018 What do YOU think about Harley Barber getting expelled???

Black Excellence: Google Pays Tribute To Dr. Martin Luther King And His Glorious Dream

Google Celebrates MLK Day Holiday With Special Doodle Kudos to Google for always rising to the occasion! Today’s Google doodle is dedicated to the legendary civil rights leader. The tech company posted about the artwork on their site: Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., Baptist minister, Nobel Laureate, and civil rights activist who dedicated his life working tirelessly for peace, social justice, and opportunity for all Americans – irrespective of color or creed. On November 2, 1983, President Ronald Reagan signed a bill creating a federal holiday to honor Dr. King. It was federally observed for the first time on January 20, 1986, and over 30 years later, the day is traditionally celebrated as a day of service, with people volunteering time and talent to help others, thus paying homage to Dr. King’s legacy. Today’s Doodle by guest artist Cannaday Chapman was also developed in collaboration with the Black Googlers Network (BGN), one of the largest employee resource groups at Google. The image depicts a young girl perched on her father’s shoulders, enthralled by the power and eloquence of Dr. King’s words. The scene is evocative of Dr. King’s dream for children everywhere to one day live in a better world. Cannaday shares his thoughts on today’s Doodle below: Q: What does MLK and MLK day mean to you personally? A: Martin Luther King Jr.’s message is especially relevant today and will be relevant for the remainder of civilization. Dr. King is most remembered for fighting for the rights of African Americans, but he fought for the rights of all Americans. He believed in fairness and equity for everyone. As a black man, I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing today if it wasn’t for him and the brave people of the civil rights movement. You can read the full post from Google HERE Continue reading
