Devoted Husband And NBA Player Jrue Holiday Leaves NBA To Take Care Of His Sick Wife

Lauren Holiday, Jrue’s Wife, Found To Have Brain Tumor New Orleans Pelicans point guard  Jrue Holiday was hit with awful news about his wife, retired soccer star Lauren Holiday. The young couple, whom are six months pregnant, were shocked when doctors found a benign tumor in Lauren’s brain. The baby is not due for another few weeks but word is they’re planning to induce labor early so the doctors can operate on her brain without affecting the baby. Jrue said that the Pelicans organization has given him a lot of support during this rough time. Via PEOPLE NBA star Jrue Holiday will not be there to start the New Orleans Pelicans’ 2016-2017 season. Instead, he will be by his wife Lauren Holiday’s side. The Holidays were left devastated when they received news that doctors had discovered a benign tumor on the right side of Lauren’s brain, according to NOLA.com. Lauren, who is an retired soccer star, was about six months pregnant at the time of the diagnosis, and while the tumor is operable and not a threat to their unborn daughter’s health, it needs to be removed. “My family comes before basketball,” Jrue, 26, told NOLA.com. “I’m obviously blessed to play this game and be in the position I am in, but my wife is the most important thing in the world to me. She comes before anything else.” He also commented on how the diagnosis has affected the upcoming birth of their daughter. “Obviously, we were and are still very excited about the birth of our first child, but our focus shifted from having this magnificent blessing to making sure everything is going to be OK with Lauren and the child,” Jrue told NOLA.com. “Our priorities right now are being able to manage Lauren’s symptoms and still have a fairly healthy pregnancy.” Lauren, 28, is due in mid-October, but the couple is hoping to induce the birth so doctors can operate on Lauren as soon as possible, NOLA.com reported. Doctors are planning to operate six weeks after Lauren gives birth, according to NOLA.com. “Lauren has her good days and her bad days; some are better than others,” Jrue said in the interview. “She’s obviously a fighter, the toughest woman I know. That’s the reason why I married her.” Jrue added that his team has been incredibly supportive of his decision to take a leave of absence. “The Pelicans have been great,” Jrue said. “There wasn’t any pressure to be with the team or to choose between my team and my wife. They told me to be a husband first. I don’t think they know how much their support means to me and my family.” Our prayers and good vibes are being sent to the Holiday family.

Jenelle Evans Confirms Third Pregnancy, World Cowers in Fear

Jenelle Evans has confirmed that she is pregnant. And confirmed the gender of her impending baby. And confirmed its due date. And even confirmed the future bundle of joy’s name. Such openness is a stark contrast to the Teen Mom 2 star’s reaction when rumors of Jenelle’s third pregnancy first spread across the Internet. Evans was involved in a car accident in mid-July. As part of the police report, officers wrote that Evans told them she was complaining of abdominal pains … which may have been related to the fact that she was 10 weeks along with her third child. Because the Internet reacted to this speculation with shock and horror, Evans did not go online to verify the pregnancy. Instead, she lashed out at the haters, slamming them for being obsessed with her personal life, yet seemingly not caring one bit about her well-being. “Why not be concerned about my health?!” Evans wrote. “I want privacy. All of you disgust me.” “It’s all about gossip these days… Funny someone else comes out with news they are pregnant and the world is overjoyed.” Well, yeah.  Most of those other people have not been filmed exhibiting some rather horrible parenting traits, while also getting into epic screaming matches with their mother and taking a lot of drugs. We really don’t wish to judge parents… or anyone. But this will be Jenelle’s third child by her third man – David Eason – and she hasn’t shown many signs that she even wants to be a mom. But anyway. That was then. And this is now: Evans took to Instagram on Wednesday night and captioned a photo of her and boyfriend David with the aforementioned confirmation(s). “Time to introduce the world to our baby girl soon, Ensley Jolie Eason,” she wrote. “She will be arriving Jan. 28th. We couldn’t be any happier!” So there we have it. Eason, who has a daughter from a previous relationship, added himself on Instagram: “I’m so happy im bout ta cry!!. I love you so much @j_evans1219 and I can’t wait to meet our baby girl Ensley Jolie Eason!!” He wrote this as a caption to the above picture, which depicts Eason kissing Evans and also touching her baby bump. It is a very sweet image, we’ll give him that much. As those who watch Teen Mom 2 online know all too well, this will be Jenelle’s third child with her third baby daddy. She is already mom to six-year-old Jace (with ex Andrew Lewis) and also to two-year-old Kaiser (with ex-fiance Nathan Griffith). Jenelle Evans Ditches Son For Spring Break in Shocking Teen Mom Clip There have been plenty of blow-ups with her centered around these kids, their fathers and also Jenelle’s own parent. Evans’ mother, Barbara, continues to have custody of Jace, as she an Jenelle have long been battling over custody of the little boy, a struggle documented on their hit MTV series. Questions about Jenelle as a parent continue to circulate online and from anyone who has seen her in action on Teen Mom 2. (One of many cases in point above.) But, hey, maybe this will be a new beginning. Maybe it will be the fresh start she needs. It can’t hurt to have some hope, can it? (Please don’t make us regret this, Jenelle.) Unlike losers such as Griffith , perhaps Eason will be a steady, loving, positive influence in her life and in the life of her daughter. There’s a fresh perspective right there. There’s an example of self-awareness, delusional as some might say she is. This pregnancy is happening. This child is entering the world. We might as well wish Evans and Eason the very best of luck with her. Right?

Hope Solo: Suspended By U.S. Women’s Soccer!

Soccer star Hope Solo has been suspended from the U.S. Women’s National Team for six months, the organization announced on Wednesday. The athlete will be ineligible to compete until February . Here disciplinary action comes after the goalkeeper, who helped Team USA to gold in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, lashed out in Rio. Hope slammed the Swedish women’s soccer team after the U.S. was stunningly defeated and knocked out of medal contention early. Sunil Gulati, the president of the organization, criticized “the comments by Hope Solo after the match against Sweden at the 2016 Olympics.” Solo’s comments “were unacceptable and do not meet the standard of conduct we require from our National Team players,” Gulati said.  “Beyond the athletic arena and beyond the results” of the match, “the Olympics celebrate the ideals of fair play and respect.” The USWNT felt Solo didn’t live up to those ideals. “We expect all of our representatives to honor those principles,” Gulati said, explaining the suspension, “with no exceptions.” After the August 12 defeat, Solo said she thought the losing Team USA played a “courageous game,” while Sweden … did not. “I think we showed a lot of heart. We came back from a goal down. I’m very proud of this team,” the controversial star began. “But I also think we played a bunch of cowards,” she said. “The best team did not win today. I strongly believe that.” Obviously, her comments did not go over too well. Swedish coach Pia Sundhage, who previously coached Team USA to those two Olympic gold medals, blasted the goalie for her attitude.  “We won the game. They played more attacking football than we did. We defended very well,” Sundhage told  The Los Angeles Times .  “It’s OK to be a coward if you win.”  In response, Solo retweeted  Sports Illustrated ‘s full transcript of her much-discussed quote and admitted that she’s not the best loser. “Losing sucks. I’m really bad at it,” she wrote. Hope Solo Taunted by “ZIKA” Chants in Olympic Opener That wasn’t sufficient to avoid a suspension, but at least it was honest; Hope does not mince words, or hold back her actions. After posting photos that some felt were disrespectful about the host nation, Solo was taunted with “Zika” chants earlier in the games. This isn’t Solo’s first brush with trouble. In 2015, she was benched for 30 days for “an incident that occurred during the current WNT training camp” that was held in Carson, Calif. Allegedly, there was drunken driving of the team van  by her husband, who’s been by her side throughout a few of Solo’s lower points. Hope was arrested for domestic violence in 2014, and has been involved in some eyebrow-raising incidents with Jerramy Stevens (below):

Tom Brady on Deflategate Suspension: I Give Up!

If you’re one of those football fans who was anticipating a Brady v. Goodell Supreme Court match-up more than any game on your team’s schedule this season, we’re afraid we have some bad news: According to a statement issued moments ago, Patriots QB Tom Brady will no longer appeal his 4-game suspension stemming from the 2014 Deflategate scandal . Brady’s suspension was overturned just prior to the 2015 season, which allowed the iconic quarterback to participate in all 16 regular season games and lead his team to the playoffs for the seventh straight year. In April, however, the suspension was reinstated by a three-judge panel from the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York. Following the decision, the only avenue left to Brady would’ve been another appeal which would have necessitated the Supreme Court agreeing to hear his case. Perhaps sensing what a longshot situation he was in, Brady decided to opt out of that particular hail Mary. “I have made the difficult decision to no longer proceed with the legal process,” he said in a statement issued moments ago. Thus, as of today, Brady will officially be forced to sit for 2016 Pats games against the Cardinals, Dolphins, Texans and Bills. We’re sure fans of those teams are breathing a sigh of relief. The NFL alleges that Brady not only instructed his team’s equipment staff to deflate game balls in direct violation of league rules, but also hindered an investigation into the matter by destroying his cell phone. In their decision, the judges in New York stated the opinion that Goodell and the league had not denied Brady “fundamental fairness” when they chose to suspend him. At 38 years old, it’s unclear how many seasons Brady has left in him, and the news that he’ll be forced to sit for a quarter of this year’s games is devastating to Pats fans. You can expect some strong opinions to be voiced on social media over the weekend. View Slideshow: 19 Scandalous Sports Stories

Gay Choir Accuses San Diego Padres of Homophobia

The San Diego Padres are currently 19-26, sitting in last place in National League West.  We know they are bad at baseball. But might the team also be homophobic?!? Allow us to explain… On Saturday afternoon at Petco Park, The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus was brought in to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” prior to the team’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Simple enough, right? Something that has been done a million times, no? A recording of the choir was supposed to play over the loudspeakers, presumably so the actual choir could lip-sync on the field… but something went wrong. Instead, the recording was of a woman singing the anthem blared for all to hear. Was this a simple mistake? Or the sign of a much larger issue within the organization? “I really want to believe that it was an error,” Bob Lehman, the choir’s executive director, told the Union-Tribune of what happened. “But the first thought was, did they do this on purpose?” Oddly, the mistaken recording was never stopped; it played throughout the duration of the national anthem. The accusation would be that the team, or someone within the team, purposely tried to embarrass the all-male choir by making it seem like gay me sounded like women. The choir said the incident raised “serious questions about homophobia within the San Diego Padres organization and its relationship with the LGBT community.” It alleged that the mix-up followed “several days of troubling comments and behavior” from within the team, as it supposedly tried to prevent the singers from performing unless they each bought a ticket to the game. That decision was later overturned. In response to the incident, San Diego issued a lengthy statement. “The Padres organization is proud of our longstanding commitment to inclusion – within both our sport and our community,” the read in part. “We deeply regret that a mistake on our part has called this into question, but accept full responsibility.” It also said an investigation yielded “no evidence of malicious intent on the part of any individuals involved.” Watch the strange performance below to see what transpired on the field:
