Katy Perry To Premiere ‘Wide Awake’ Video Tonight On MTV!

By MTV News Staff Katy Perry in her “Wide Awake” video Photo: We know you just couldn’t wait to hear what Katy Perry had to say about her new video for “Wide Awake,” so the clip and an exclusive interview with the pop star are coming your way a little early. Katy Perry ‘s “Wide Awake” video will get its big TV debut during “MTV First: Katy Perry.” The video will make its worldwide debut on MTV tonight at 7:53 p.m. ET, with an exclusive 30-minute interview with Katy and MTV’s Sway Calloway to follow on MTV.com. She’ll reveal all about the track, which she wrote for her upcoming 3-D concert film “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” “I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze,” Perry says in the interview about the dreamy video. “There’s good parts; there’s bad parts. Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome. I think what probably kept me going is just the purity of my belief in music.” While she will have more to say about the song during the full interview, she did share that she had a lot of stuff she wanted to say when she sat down to write it. “I love this song so much,” she said. “It was a song that I hadn’t written for Teenage Dream. I was doing this movie and they asked me if I wanted to write an end-title song for the movie and I was like, ‘I know exactly what I want to say.’ I was really kind of dying to write another song at that point. I didn’t want to wait until I did a whole new record, and it’s kind of the perfect last word of me at this moment.” The new clip — which not only closes the book on her incredible Teenage Dream run, but follows a fairytale story line — will also debut on VH1, Logo and TeenNick, in addition to MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOtv.com. Anchorman 2 Teaser Poster Has Legs

Paramount unveiled the first poster to its imminent Anchorman sequel, which we’ve all been calling Anchorman 2 forever but will apparently have the brassier if more cumbersome title, Anchorman: The Legend Continues . Did we already know this? Sorry if I missed that, seriously, I’m still utterly transfixed by Peter Berg’s geopolitical aplomb . Ron Burgundy couldn’t hold a candle. Anyway, you’ll still call it Anchorman 2 , so whatever, have a look. There seem to be a couple legs missing on the far side; perhaps there were some amputations in the intervening period between the first and second installments? Or maybe it’s just the angle. We’ll see. The teaser trailer emerges this week ahead of The Dictator , so I imagine we’ll be shoveling that your way in the days ahead. Stay tuned! Follow S.T. VanAirsdale on Twitter . After having to deal with those teasers-for-the-teaser annoyance, we now have the actual teaser trailer for writer/director Rian Johnson‘s Looper, his futuristic sci-fi thriller featuring a Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt face-off, both playing the same character. Snow White And The Machine: Florence Welch Tapped For ‘Huntsman’ Soundtrack

‘Breath of Life’ to be featured in Kristen Stewart movie, arriving June 1. By James Montgomery Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine Photo: Universal/ Island Records “Snow White and the Huntsman” doesn’t hit theaters until June 1, but we already have information about the film’s soundtrack — and just who will be involved in it. Namely, Florence and the Machine , who will channel all their ethereal, otherworldly magic into a brand-new song — called “Breath of Life” — for the “Huntsman” soundtrack. We’ve yet to hear “Breath,” but thanks to the good folks at Universal, we know it’s one of many songs featured on the soundtrack and comes backed by a full orchestra and choir. At press time, there’s still no info on who else will join Florence Welch on the soundtrack or when it will be released, but Flo definitely seems like a natural fit for the film, which stars Kristen Stewart as the titular heroine, Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen and Chris Hemsworth as the other titular character, the Huntsman. Judging by an early trailer for the film , this most certainly isn’t your mom’s adaptation of Snow White. Instead, it gets plenty dark and features Snow in full battle mode, armor and all. Late last year, Stewart praised the film and said she was having such a good time filming “Huntsman” that she was already open to making sequels . In particular, she loved punching Hemsworth in the kisser. “It made such a sound, it was in a scene,” Stewart recalled of the big moment. “Girls, if you’ve ever wondered if it works, it works. It literally spun him right around. I was supposed to miss him by this much. I basically knocked him right out of his close-up. Here, Watch Thirty Seconds of Total Recall

Again with this “teaser for a trailer” business. If you cannot wait until Sunday to get a glimpse of the actual trailer for Len Wiseman’s Total Recall remake, here are thirty seconds of Colin Farrell driving flying cars and jumping off of balconies and Kate Beckinsale looking hot. I’m still holding out for evidence that Wiseman kept the three-boobed lady in his version, which will determine if this rehash of the 1990 sci-fi gem gets my ticket dollars or not. I mean, at least the ridiculously short 15-second Breaking Dawn Part 2 teaser trailer teaser had pecs and hands and Edward Cullen and stuff. Show me the alien boobs, Wiseman! The full trailer will air on ABC on Sunday during the first half of the Celtics-Heat game before an extended version debuts online at Apple. The official synopsis for Total Recall — “inspired anew” by Philip K. Dick’s source short story: Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. The Host Trailer: The Latest from Stephenie Meyer

We’ve got a long way to go until The Host hits theaters some time in 2013, but the first teaser trailer for the upcoming thriller is already online. Based on a book by Stephenie Meyer – who penned something else called The Twilight Saga – The Host tells the story of an alien species that takes over the consciousness of human beings on Earth. But these aliens didn’t account for Saoirse Ronan’s Melanie, who fights back against the invaders. Check out the first trailer now, but be warned: the film hasn’t even completed shooting yet.
