‘Harry Potter’ Kissing Scene ‘Tricky’ For Rupert Grint

‘We had to look like we wanted to do it, when in reality we really didn’t,’ he tells MTV News of lip-lock with Emma Watson. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rupert Grint Photo: MTV News While fans have long been waiting for Ron and Hermione to lock lips in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2,” Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have said that it was not so much fun to film the highly anticipated scene. And, according to Grint, it was not any easier watching said kiss on the big screen — “especially in 3-D.” MTV News caught up with the “Harry Potter” star over the weekend, and he seemed to find it just as difficult discussing the scene now as he and Watson did after they filmed it in 2009. In fact, Grint couldn’t even remember how many takes of the kiss they had to go through before director David Yates finally yelled, “Cut!” “I have no memory of that day. I’ve kind of erased it,” Grint said. “I think it was about four.” After seven films of buildup, Grint’s Ron Weasley and Watson’s Hermione Granger finally culminate the romance that has been budding since their characters first met inside the Hogwarts Express. But as Hermione and Ron grew to love one another romantically, Watson and Grint became more like brother and sister, making the snogging scene all the weirder for them. “It was a tricky one, because it had to be believable. We had to look like we wanted to do it, when in reality we really didn’t,” Grint said. “We were soaking [in the scene], and that kind of made it a little bit easier, I think, because it was kind of this outburst of adrenaline.” When MTV News chatted with Watson about the kiss back in 2009, she echoed similar uncomfortable sentiments. In fact, she said she was so nervous during the first take of the kiss that she ended up pouncing on Grint in order to get the scene over with. “The only good side to it was the fact that we were both in the same boat,” Watson said. “We were both just like, ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe we have to do this. This is so awkward. Really awkward.’ So I could take comfort in the fact that Rupert felt the same way. We were both giggling. We were like 12-year-olds. We were like giggling children, where you just couldn’t keep it together.” We’re streaming live from the red carpet at the New York premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” on Monday (July 11) at 4:30 p.m. ET. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Last Day ‘Wasn’t Super Dramatic’

‘It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished,’ Nikki Reed tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli Photo: MTV News “Breaking Dawn” has wrapped, the trailer has officially debuted at the MTV Movie Awards , and the stars of “The Twilight Saga” are nearing the end of their years-long franchise. MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli outside the Gibson Amphitheatre after “Eclipse” won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie. The Cullen trio chatted about the last day of shooting, saying it wasn’t as emotional as fans might have expected. “It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished, to be honest,” Reed said. “We know we’re going to see each other, so it wasn’t super dramatic.” Facinelli agreed, adding, “We have two more movies coming out, so it wasn’t so much of a goodbye as it was a ‘see ya later.’ ” According to the three “Twilight” stars, there was no big commotion made on their last day of filming “Breaking Dawn.” In fact, none of the stars even made a speech. “We should have a speech right now!” Facinelli suggested. “Kellan?” Lutz turned to his co-stars and deadpanned, “I worked the very last day, and I hate you mother—-ers. That’s my speech.” Though the stars of “The Twilight Saga” still have another year and a half until the second part of “Breaking Dawn” hits theaters, and then will have to make press rounds to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release, they still are willing to look into the future to what they will be doing for other projects. Or they’re willing to joke about it, at least. “Broadway musical, let’s do it,” Facinelli said with a laugh. ” ‘Carlisle on Ice.’ I can’t wait.” “I’ll buy a ticket,” Lutz offered. Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy Whip MTV News Reporter Into Shape

In a special Movie Awards edition of ‘After Hours,’ Josh Horowitz learns the proper way to interview celebs. By Terri Schwartz Jennifer Lawrence Photo: MTV News With tonight’s MTV Movie Awards , MTV News’ crack interviewer Josh Horowitz needed to get his interviewing skills in tiptop shape, because, based on some of the recent chats he’s had with big-time celebrities, he was far from prepared. In the three MTV Movie Awards editions of “After Hours,” Horowitz is run through the wringer to get his interviewing skills up to par. Apparently, over the past few months of junket interviews, from the Tribeca Film Festival to chatting with the cast of “Bad Teacher,” Horowitz has performed a series of question faux pas that have made our friendly neighborhood celebrities a bit uncomfortable. Sorry, Horowitz, but Keanu Reeves isn’t a fan of suggestions that he should change his name, and Dwayne Johnson doesn’t like hearing that he’s packed on a few pounds and is now doughy. Cameron Diaz definitely doesn’t want your bottom in her face, and Olivia Wilde has heard that she is pretty often enough. Fortunately, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence have come in to put Horowitz in his place and teach him a thing or two about good reporting techniques — and how to be better than Mario Lopez. Step one: bronzer, bronzer and more bronzer. Once Horowitz was tan enough, Lawrence demanded he lose the glasses. After he raised some concerns about the whole not-being-able-to-see thing, Lawrence replied angrily, “Mario Lopez is legally blind and that’s never stopped him. Glasses off!” After running him through a host of temperamental A-lister behaviors — demanding he ask her about her love life and then sweetly declining to answer his questions — McAvoy took over. Step two: Hit the gym. Wearing an X-Men T-shirt and a tortured expression, Horowitz was put through McAvoy’s rigorous workout regimen, including push-ups while being antagonized about interviewing Angelina Jolie and being riled up about Mario Lopez while hitting a punching bag. The final step of McAvoy’s training plan? A big ol’ smooch on Horowitz’s lips. Hopefully, that will be enough to put Horowitz on the right page for the Movie Awards. Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner Share Steamy Movie Awards Kiss

RPattz tells fellow Best Kiss winner Kristen Stewart that Lautner would just ‘appreciate it a little more.’ By Terri Schwartz Robert Pattinson kisses Taylor Lautner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The third time was the charm for three-time MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss winners Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart … or, at least, it should have been. For the past two years, the “Twilight” stars have teased Movie Awards audiences with almost-kisses as they accepted their award. So on Sunday night (June 4), when presenters Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds announced that RPattz and KStew had won for their smooch in “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” it seemed this year’s show would finally bring the big moment fans have been waiting for. Well, er, it wasn’t. “I feel bad because I don’t feel like kissing you,” Pattinson apologized to Stewart onstage. “You don’t want to kiss me, do you?” Stewart, though, seemed more willing. “Well, it’s been a long time and I think maybe we should finally go for it,” she said to cheers from the crowd. But Pattinson still wasn’t having it. “I just think there’s someone else in the audience who I think will appreciate it a little more,” he said. Cue the camera cutting to a stone-faced Taylor Lautner. “Go get him,” Stewart encouraged. Pattinson then took to the Gibson Amphitheatre floor running. As the audience screamed in excitement, he leaned over and gave Lautner a full-on smooch on the lips as his werewolf co-star wrapped an arm around him. Of course, Lautner also wiped his mouth immediately after (too much tongue?), but Pattinson wasn’t done. Soon he was right back onstage going after Stewart — for real. She squealed, “No!” and ran away laughing. “What? I want to take you back stage!” Pattinson said with a flirty grin. And the pair made their dramatic and hilarious exit … but still no kiss. Robert Pattinson Wishes He Had ‘Something Funny To Say’ After Win

MTV News catches up with ‘Twilight’ stud after Best Male Performance win at the Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: MTV News In the biggest non-surprise of the night, Robert Pattinson won the MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance for the third year in a row. But the man himself was still shocked. “I really didn’t think I was going to win. Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that clip!” Pattinson said during his acceptance speech, referring to his fellow nominee’s performance in “Charlie St. Cloud.” Still, he recognized that it was the fans who brought him the win yet again; his first win was in 2009 for “Twilight,” and then again last year for “New Moon.” “I’m consistently surprised, so thank you very much,” he said. “I hope we see you all again next year.” When MTV News caught up with the “Breaking Dawn” star after his big win, he was worried he dropped the ball a bit in his acceptance speech. “I’m just trying to come up with something funny to say to all of these. I pussied out on my first one and said nothing,” Pattinson said with a laugh. Fortunately, the man better known as Edward Cullen followed up his Best Male Performance acceptance speech with a much stronger Best Fight one. He took to the stage with “Eclipse” co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel and, after a moment’s awkwardness, pulled out the humor. “Well, yeah, I won, ha!” Pattinson said as his acceptance. Howard turned to him, apologizing for her villainess role in “Eclipse” by saying, “I guess I should say: I’m so sorry I tried to kill you, Rob.” “It’s all right. I ripped your head off, and now you’re pregnant!” he replied to the audience’s laughter. MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . Movie Awards Tip To Celebs: Pass (And Drop) The Golden Popcorn!

‘Let it slip. It’s no problem!’ laughs Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, in search of good post-show gossip. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello Photo: MTV News If there’s one request Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, the woman in charge of handling the Movies Awards’ Golden Popcorn trophies, has for celebs as they prepare for Sunday’s big show, it’s please, please drop the Popcorn. It all started back in 2009, when Kristen Stewart dropped the Golden Popcorn statue she’d just received for Best Female Performance in “Twilight.” The starlet was awkward (and adorable) about the misstep, and the moment is now part of MTV Movie Awards history. Fast-forward to 2010: no dropped awards. Apparently last year’s celebs didn’t want to repeat KStew’s stumble, so they came prepared — with steady hands and good balance. And, of course, that was a good thing, except that it meant Dela Rosa didn’t have too many juicy celeb anecdotes for us when we asked her to dish some dirt after the show. Stewart’s slip in ’09 had gotten us a cute story about how the “Breaking Dawn” star asked Movie Awards staff for her broken Popcorn only to find out they had already tossed it. But last year? “Nothing, not a thing,” Dela Rosa said. “Celebrities, please help us out. Give us a story.” She even suggested that stars give the audience a little fake-out, a tease. “Drop it. Let it slip. It’s no problem!” she joked. With Jim Carrey set to present at the Movie Awards and Jason Sudeikis as the show’s host, she may get her wish. Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Find out June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. ‘X-Men: First Class’: Meet The Mutants

James McAvoy, Kevin Bacon and more of the film’s stars lead us through this new batch of X-Men. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian James McAvoy in “X-Men: First Class” Photo: 20th Century Fox With “X-Men: First Class” being the fourth “X-Men” film released this decade, you might think you know a thing or two about our favorite friendly (and not-so-friendly) neighborhood mutants, but the latest installment of the franchise, out Friday (June 3), is here to prove you wrong. MTV News caught up with the stars of the summer blockbuster recently, and they were more than willing to clear up any preconceived notions we might have had about their characters. “Professor Charles Xavier, when we meet him, is actually Dr. Charles Xavier, but he becomes a professor during the course of the movie,” James McAvoy clarified. “His power is he can read, bend and manipulate your mind, and his relationship with Erik [a.k.a. Magneto] is probably the closest relationship he’s ever had.” “Erik Lehnsherr-slash-Magneto, he is ruthless, intelligent, charming and adaptable,” Michael Fassbender teased. Jennifer Lawrence explained how her character, Raven Darkholme/ Mystique, is connected to the two main men. “Magneto to her is kind of this iconic man that’s kind of the crush that she’s always had and she admires him very much. And Charles [Xavier] has always been like a brother to her,” Lawrence said. There are quite a few new characters to add to the mix as well, most notably Kevin Bacon as bad guy Sebastian Shaw, the head of the Hellfire Club. “My power is to be able to absorb energy and harness it and throw it back at whoever is trying to use that energy against me,” Bacon explained to MTV. Then there’s Emma Frost, played by January Jones, who is Shaw’s right-hand woman. “Her powers are twofold,” Jones explained. “She has the mental capacity to read minds or control them, and then also, physically, she can change into a diamond form, which makes her physically indestructible.” Some other new characters are Zoe Kravitz’s Angel Salvadore, a go-go dancer who is able to sprout wings, and Lucas Till’s Havoc, a liability who has no control over the beams he can sprout from his body. You can bet there are plenty more mutants that join the first class, but you’ll have to meet them on your own in theaters now.
