Angelina Jolie’s Tits Make an Appearance of the Day

I heard that the movie The Tourist totally bombed its opening weekend, now I don’t watch movies and if I do, they are usually pornographic, but I do know how celebrity marketing works and that’s get the main star you paid too much for to show up to a premiere showing off tit like she wasn’t in her mid 40s and a mom of 30, hoping our memories of her as the sexed up, gothic, tatooed up slut that got her where she is today are enough to get us out to the movie, and I think that strategy may be working, cuz I’m definitely sold on these tits.

‘Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader’ Tops Weekend Box Office

Despite its win, third entry in ‘Narnia’ franchise earned a mere $24.5 million. By Josh Wigler Georgie Henley in “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” Photo: 20th Century Fox Sometimes winning isn’t everything, as evidenced by “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.” Despite securing first place at the box office this weekend, the third entry in the “Chronicles of Narnia” franchise exited the weekend with a mere $24.5 million to its name, hardly scratching the surface of the fantasy film’s reported $155 million production budget. But before “Voyage of the Dawn Treader” can be considered an overall failure, one needs to examine the film’s foreign box-office intake. The movie earned $81 million from international showings, resulting in a worldwide total of $105.5 million. Still not an excellent reward for its opening weekend — and likely not one that can justify continued entries in the “Chronicles of Narnia” series all by itself — but it’s a significantly less shabby result compared to the film’s domestic performance. As a franchise film, “Dawn Treader” may have entered the weekend frame with a bit of an advantage, but that’s hardly a justification for the poor performance of “The Tourist,” the Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp-starring Venice-set thriller that earned a mere $17 million in second place at the box office this weekend. Star power clearly isn’t the problem here, as Jolie and Depp’s names are proven commodities at the box office. But perhaps even their combined weight couldn’t outmatch the overwhelmingly negative reviews lobbed in the film’s direction. Unlike “Chronicles,” foreign numbers won’t save “The Tourist,” as the movie only earned $8 million in international locations this weekend. The rest of the weekend’s top five performers played out predictably. “Tangled” bested “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” once again in a race for third place, while Tony Scott’s “Unstoppable” continued to live up to its name with a fifth-place finish. Major kudos to Darren Aronofsky and Natalie Portman’s “Black Swan,” which secured a $3.3 million sixth-place finish despite playing in only 90 theaters nationwide. Similarly, “The Fighter” bowed in four theaters this weekend and managed the weekend’s best per theater average at $80,000 a pop. The Box-Office Top Five #1 “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” ($24.5 million) #2 “The Tourist” ($17 million) #3 “Tangled” ($14.5 million) #4 “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” ($8.5 million) #5 “Unstoppable” ($3.8 million) Upcoming Releases Disc wars and light cycles are par for the course when “Tron: Legacy” rolls into theaters next weekend, but can Disney’s sci-fi franchise overpower the family-friendly “Yogi Bear” from Warner Bros.? Weekend Receipts: Jesus Lion and Pudgy Johnny Depp Both Kinda Bomb

There were no real winners this weekend as the third Chronicles of Narnia movie faced off against The Tourist and both of them performed well under expectations. But, like a Nevada Senatorial race, there had to be a victor, and Narnia edged out Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie for the dubious honor of not doing as horribly. Your weekend receipts are here.

‘The Tourist’: The Reviews Are In!

Not all critics were won over by Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp’s star power. By Eric Ditzian Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in “The Tourist” Photo: Sony Pictures Critics may not be fawning over “The Tourist,” but Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie remain big box-office draws, perhaps even more so internationally than here in the States. So while oodles of critics continue to take shots at the new flick, it’s likely to attract a sizeable audience. But will “The Tourist” top the $20 million mark? Will it fall short? Is the movie the right choice for you this weekend, as it faces other new entrants like “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” or the platform release “The Fighter”? Check out what the critics are saying and decide for yourself. The Story “One morning in Paris (France, we’re helpfully informed), the exquisite Elise Ward (Jolie) strolls down to her favorite cafe and receives a letter from her lover, Alexander Pearce, whom we eventually learn is an elusive, high-class thief wanted for stealing $744 million. Her actions are closely monitored by a team of Scotland Yard detectives led by Inspector Acheson (Paul Bettany, high-strung), whose determination to collar Pearce borders on obsession. Following Pearce’s exact instructions, Elise hops a Venice-bound train, where she subtly puts the moves on Frank Tupelo (Depp), a random, slightly rumpled American traveler whose provenance (‘a math teacher from Wisconsin’) is the script’s idea of a joke worth repeating. Employing an arsenal of suggestive glances and coy one-liners, Elise contrives to throw the cops off the scent by making them think Frank is Pearce.” — Justin Chang, Variety The Elegant Details ” ‘The Tourist’ is one of those movies that will leave some viewers scratching their heads, wondering why there isn’t more action, more snazzy editing, more obvious crackle between its stars, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. But I suspect the people who get ‘The Tourist’ will simply adore it: It’s the kind of espionage caper that doesn’t get made anymore, a visually sensuous picture made with tender attention to detail and an elegant, understated sense of humor. In style and construction, its spiritual godfather is Stanley Donen’s ‘Charade’; thematically, its fairy godmother is Preston Sturges’ ‘The Lady Eve.’ If it were a drink, it would be a Bellini, fizzy and sweet and dry all at the same time.” — Stephanie Zacharek, Movieline The Romantic Drama ” ‘The Tourist’ nearly works as a slow-paced, romantic drama. Unfortunately this isn’t a slow-paced, romantic drama; it’s supposed to be some kind of action-thriller. But the script is as light on action as it is on thrills and director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck’s movie crawls by at a snail’s pace, relying on star chemistry and beautiful backdrops to keep you interested in all the moments when nothing of any real consequence seems to be happening. While it’s true that there’s pleasure to be had in watching Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie motoring endlessly through the watery, stunning streets of Venice, there’s barely enough here to justify making it a movie.” — Josh Tyler, Cinema Blend The Dissenters “Star power can cover up a multitude of shortcomings in a film. Turns out stupidity isn’t one of them. Nor is a lack of chemistry when those stars are tossed into the same orbit. Throw in the feeling that they aren’t really trying, but instead showed up for the mondo payday and the first-rate locations and you have … well, you have ‘The Tourist,’ with Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp, a movie that is difficult to characterize as a disappointment because mediocrity seems to be what they were shooting for.” — Bill Goodyknoontz, The Arizona Republic The Final Word “It’s probably best to head into ‘The Tourist’ with the mindset that you’re going on an actual vacation yourself. If you’re in the mood for mindless, escapist fun — dazzling scenery, elegant evenings, decadent hotel suites and expensive clothes — you’ll be fine. There are all the obligatory chases and shootouts you’d expect in a romantic action caper, but you never get the sense that anyone’s in real danger. There are twists, but they won’t make you think too terribly hard, and in the end you will have devoted fewer than two hours of your life to a decent diversion.” — Christy Lemire, The Associated Press Check out everything we’ve got on “The Tourist.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Angelina Jolie’s Kids Laughed At Her ‘Funny Accent’ In ‘The Tourist’

‘It’s always fun to have my family on set,’ she said at ‘Tourist’ premiere. By Jocelyn Vena Angelina Jolie at “The Tourist” premiere Photo: Stephen Lovekin/ Getty Images Angelina Jolie and her children have racked up the frequent-flyer miles over the years, both for film shoots across the globe (for her films and Brad Pitt’s), their humanitarian efforts and their clear love of traveling. At the premiere of her latest flick, “The Tourist,” which she shot in Europe, Jolie said bringing them along is fun for everyone. “Fortunately, we’ve given them a love of discovering new places and new people and new cultures,” she said. “And they like to pack their bags and have new adventures.” In the sexy spy thriller, she plays an English woman who uses an American tourist (Johnny Depp) to help find her fugitive former lover. But it sounds like her little ones made for a lighthearted time on set. “It’s always fun to have my family on set,” she explained. “I think it wouldn’t be the same without them. They get to come and laugh at mommy for playing dress-up and having a funny accent.” At the premiere, Jolie also talked about the other perks of making the movie. “I liked that she was a real lady, a real European lady, and I’ve never played that before. I thought it was a challenge for me to be a girl, a real girly girl,” she said. “Living in Italy for a few months was pretty hard to resist. And I’ve been dying to work with [director] Florian [Henckel von Donnersmarck], and I’ve always wanted to work with Johnny and never met him, so it was great. Everything was great about this project.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Tourist.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
