Twitter’s World Cup There

If Twitter is fast becoming the world’s watercooler as it is, watch what happens in the next few weeks as the World Cup takes over the planet. And as with any event of that size and – being a football fan at heart – importance, rest assured that hip Internet companies will be scrambling to lay some easter eggs. Yesterday, we learned that Google has a special surprise in store for those who search for ‘world cup’ – scroll to the bottom if you’ve been living under a rock for the past 24 hours and you don’t know what we’re referring to. An eagle-eyed reader just alerted us to the fact Twitter itself is also doing its part, by quietly adding a custom ‘South Africa 2010′ theme to its design gallery. We don’t know how long it’s been there, but here’s how to get it: go to Twitter.com, log on, go to Settings and then click the Design tab. The theme can be found at the bottom. [ Via ]

People Hate Lindsay Lohan So Hard

Only in Hollywood: Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer is asking a judge to delay her trial because people hate her. Seriously, he claims she can’t get a fair shake with a jury. Ed McPherson represents Lindsay in the civil lawsuit in which people allege that she terrorized them during a wild, drunken Pacific Coast Highway joyride in 2007.

Jacqueline Laurita Feels Horrible 4 Kids of Danielle Staub

When Kim Kardashian bent over for Ray J on tape, it didn’t hurt her family. In fact, that act eventually led to a reality show and global fame for a group of individuals no one would ever have heard of if Kim didn’t take one for her siblings. (Literally!) Similarly, while she may be crying a river in interviews, Kendra Wilkinson’s publicized intercourse will pad her and her husband’s bank account by nine figures. Hard to sympathize with her family for that decision. However, Danielle Staub is a 47-year old mother of two and fellow Real Housewife of New Jersey Jacqueline Laurita can’t believe Danielle would expose her children to such filth as these photos and their affiliated video. Laurita Tweeted yesterday: “Heard from a VERY reliable source that D (Danielle) released her OWN sex tape. Heard it’s disgusting. Such disregard 4 her kids. I feel horrible 4 them.” So do we. But to give Staub the tiniest shred of credit: at least she is aware the tape will be released on June 14 and hasn’t pretended like this is some horrible, unwanted violation of her privacy. She’s an irresponsible mother and troubled human being that clearly played a role in the production and distribution of this tape – but, hey, at least she admits it.

Katy Perry’s Reaction To Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ Surprises Perez Hilton

‘ ‘Cheap’ wasn’t the most appropriate word,’ says Hilton, a friend of both pop stars. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Damian Vaca Perez Hilton Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images On Tuesday Lady Gaga premiered her latest over-the-top music video, “Alejandro.” This time around Gaga went dark, using images of the military and religion to weave her tale of lost love in the Steven Klein-directed clip. Already, the scenes of her dressed as a nun have rubbed some the wrong way, including fellow pop star Katy Perry, whose tweet calling “blasphemy as entertainment” cheap seemed to allude to the video. That comment had Gaga’s bestie and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton defending his pal, even though he says he loves both pop stars. “The Gaga video has premiered [with] a lot of reactions on both sides, love and hate,” he told MTV News at the Logo NewNowNext Awards on Tuesday night in Los Angeles. “Surprisingly, one of the people who had interesting words to share about it is Katy Perry.” The gossip gangster said that Perry’s tweet shouldn’t be taken too seriously. “She took to her Twitter to say that blasphemy is as cheap as a comedian telling fart jokes, which I found funny because Russell Brand and Katy Perry love to tell fart jokes,” he explained. “In fact, a few tweets prior to that one, Katy was joking about Russell farting in bed.” But Hilton tried to remain diplomatic about the whole situation. “I am a fan of both Katy Perry and Lady Gaga and a friend to both,” he said. “Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I have one and I share it. I just think that maybe the word ‘cheap’ wasn’t the most appropriate word to describe Gaga and her video.” Do you think Katy Perry is trying to start a beef with Lady Gaga? Drake ‘Didn’t Respect’ Lil’ Kim Dissing Nicki Minaj

‘That just wasn’t G to me at all,’ he tells MTV’s ‘Sucker Free’ of Kim’s onstage comments. By Shaheem Reid Drake and Nicki Minaj Photo: MTV News Drake said that, even without an album, Nicki Minaj is the best female MC to ever do it. So the 23-year-old MC was pretty ticked off at Lil’ Kim and Ray J’s recent onstage comments that Minaj is biting Kim’s style and that Nicki needs to pay homage to her. Drake elaborated on his anger while talking to DJ Envy on MTV’s “Sucker Free” over the weekend. “I feel like Lil’ Kim is a G in the game. I feel like you’re a part of an era that’s classic, that we’ll never forget as young kids, me and Nick,” he said of his Young Money family member. “You don’t have to do that. You don’t have to get onstage and tell people to pay homage; that’s a given. I’ve watched Nicki pay homage time and time again. I didn’t respect [Kim’s comments] at all. Whoever else was onstage with her, I didn’t respect that at all. You just wearing your heat on your sleeve. You’re showing that you’re upset. Nobody’s done that to me yet. I would never expect Jay or ‘Ye to get onstage and be like, ‘Pay homage to me. You need to respect me.’ They know they command my respect with their music and talent. I feel that’s signs you’re just losing it. I really did take that personally. That bothered me. I really don’t get caught up with the Twitter and Internet stuff, but I did see it. And I feel like you’re supposed to be a G. That just wasn’t G to me at all.” For her part, Lil’ Kim told Philadelphia radio host Kendra G on Philly 100.3 on Saturday that “all females that come in the game, we need to stick together, and I always try my best to embrace them. But what happens is, when they come in the game and they realize that I’m not going away, and my fans are still here and they can’t just step on me, they get upset, and then they don’t want to be my friend anymore. I think that’s really childish and stupid. Because all I ask for is respect, and I show the same respect back. Pay homage. At the end of the day, a lot of things go on behind the scenes that people don’t know about. It will be aired out, because you can’t hide the truth.” Nicki hasn’t spoken in public about Kim’s comments, but she has hinted on her Twitter page that she is taking the high road. “Raise ya hand if u don’t have 2 diss ppl to feel better about urself,” she wrote on Thursday. “Jealousy is a disease. It kills @ a fast pace. Kisses 2 my bad bi—es” Do you think Lil’ Kim was out of line in her comments to Nicki Minaj? Let us know below! Related Artists Nicki Minaj Drake

Alanis Morissette Marries Rapper Souleye

Musicians tied the knot during a private ceremony in Los Angeles late last month. By Josh Wigler Alanis Morissette Photo: Getty Images Alanis Morrissette married rapper Mario “Souleye” Treadway during an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles on May 22. People reports that the ceremony was attended by family members and close friends. “So happy to share with you that my man Souleye and I got married,” Morissette later revealed on her Twitter page . “We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other.” Morissette and Souleye married barely over a week before the “Jagged Little Pill” rocker’s 36th birthday on June 1. While it’s the first marriage for both musicians, Morissette was previously engaged to “The Proposal” star Ryan Reynolds. The two called off their wedding in 2007, though the singer’s 2004 comments on romance and love are certainly thoughtful given her recent nuptials. “I think for a long time, because of my compulsively wanting to be viewed as an

Too Much Sex In The City For Abu Dhabi

Sex and the City two is making some people groan and it’s not who think. While men around the world have moaned about being dragged to the much hyped chick flick sequel, the rulers and people of The United Arab Emirates are irate over the movies sexual overtones. In the film, the women travel to the country’s capital Abu Dhabi where they openly flirt with men, something that shocked the strict Muslim country where public displays of affection are banned. And also in a country where alcohol is only sold in hotels, the fearsome foursome suck down glass after glass of champagne. But it’s not all bad news for the U.A.E, due to their outrage at the film’s content; Sex and the City Two will not be released there. With the movie’s bad reviews, sounds like a blessing in disguise to us.
