‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Fans Can’t Wait For Elevator Scene

‘It’s pretty much my favorite part,’ one ‘Fifty Shades’ reader tells MTV News of planned movie. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Uptin Saiidi “Fifty Shades of Grey” book cover Photo: NEW YORK, NY — Perhaps it’s too hot for even an R rating, but regardless of an MPAA ruling, this much is clear: A “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie is inevitable. Fans are chomping down on their leather belts of choice in anticipation of the live-action take on Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele — indeed, the dream casting calls are already pouring out with no signs of slowing . With so many iconic scenes already in the making, it’s almost impossible to ask fans to pick only one that they’re most excited to see— but for some “Fifty Shades” readers, the decision is a no-painer. “The scene I would like to see the most on the big screen is the elevator scene,” fan Sean Barnett told MTV News during a “Fifty Shades of Grey” signing at Barnes & Noble in New York’s Union Square last month. Fellow fan Morgan Nazarzideh had to agree: “When the movie comes out, I’m waiting for the elevator scene to happen. It’s pretty much my favorite part.” They weren’t alone in their requests for a raunchy elevator scene, but that wasn’t the only moment fans are pining for. In fact, “Fifty Shades” readers Christina Regalbuto and Jennifer Lubrano are already looking toward the potential sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker,” to see how steamy Christian and Ana’s relationship can get. “The scene I’m excited to see is from the second book, when she finally gets to touch him for the first time,” said Regalbuto, referring to the long-awaited moment in E.L. James’ second “Fifty Shades” novel. Stemming from that, Lubrano added: “Also from the second book, when he proposes to her. That’s a big, dramatic scene.” Fan Manuel Lemus said that, in the end, there are simply too many coveted moments from “Fifty Shades of Grey” to pick only one most-anticipated movie moment. “I’m excited to see everything, to be honest with you,” he said. “I really enjoyed reading this book. I’m excited. I can’t wait [for the movie].” Which “Fifty Shades” scenes are you most looking forward to seeing? Weigh in with your thoughts in the comments section below! ‘Buried Life’ Stars Weigh In On Presidential Election ‘Chatter’

‘A lot of people on college campuses right now are over it,’ Jonnie Penn tells MTV News. By Uptin Saiidi Jonnie Penn, Ben Nemtin, Duncan Penn and Dave Lingwood of “The Buried Life” Photo: MTV News When they’re not checking off items on their bucket list , the four guys that make up “The Buried Life” have been busy touring the country to speak at colleges and universities. The MTV stars currently have a new show in development and a book due out later this month called “What Do You Want to Do Before You Die?” which they hope makes it onto the New York Times Best Sellers list — it’s #19 on their bucket list. They recently stopped by MTV News while in New York to speak at St. John’s College, where they weighed in on themes of the presidential election as they relate to young people. “A lot of people on college campuses right now are over it. They kind of want to move on, they want to work, they want to apply themselves and they’re just sick of all this kind of … chatter,” Jonnie Penn said. “So are we. All this chatter kind of buries you. You just want to push all that stuff away.” Disinterest among young people is already showing at the polls. On Super Tuesday, MTV News had teams dispatched in three states. In Massachusetts, correspondent Jacob Soboroff reported on the record-low turnout at Boston University — the state’s largest university. Meanwhile, students in Ohio offered various reasons for not voting, from having plans to “paint” to just not caring. When asked what the solution was to raising political awareness among college-age students, Ben Nemtin perked up. “If you have an inkling in what you feel you want to do, but you haven’t done it yet, find people around that you can collaborate with. That’s how this thing started. We weren’t best friends growing up or anything — we came together to start ‘Buried Life.’ ” One solution Jonnie ultimately offered was to actually do less talking. “Some advice someone gave me that I took to heart was, listening to the people you don’t agree with, take in the positions … learn from the people you don’t agree with. “See why they feel that way and then it will help you understand why you feel the way you do, and it will also help you say, ‘Well, maybe we can compromise to do this.’ Because if you don’t listen, you’re just adding to the chatter.” Related Videos Super Tuesday: MTV News Is On The Ground!

Howard Stern On ‘America’s Got Talent’ Has Fans Curious

‘I’ll definitely at least tune in to the first episode that he’s on, just to see … the kinds of critiques he gives,’ one viewer tells MTV News. By Brian Phares, with additional reporting by Uptin Saiidi Howard Stern Photo: FilmMagic NEW YORK — Howard Stern is coming to your TV — but not in the way you might expect. The controversial radio host is replacing Piers Morgan as the newest judge on “America’s Got Talent,” and the news definitely has people talking. “I feel like the families who are watching it are going to be like, ‘What is this guy doing on this show?’ ” Mike Ruffalo told MTV News when we took to the streets to find out what people were thinking about the controversial move. Other fans were not as concerned. “It’s great publicity for ‘America’s Got Talent,’ ” said Carol John. Indeed, the news has definitely drawn a lot of attention to the Nick Cannon-hosted competition show, but will that mean more viewers? “Howard Stern is a funny, crazy dude. I will definitely be in there watching it,” said Gabriel Garcia, proving that, for at least one fan, having Stern on the show is a major draw. John was interested but felt a little more trepidation when she told us, “I’ll definitely at least tune in to the first episode that he’s on, just to see how he approaches the show and the kinds of critiques he gives to the acts that perform.” Regardless of what people think about Howard Stern, the general consensus is that having him on “America’s Got Talent” is a great move for the show. But is it a great move for Howard? “Twenty million dollars could persuade a lot of people to do a lot of things,” Peter Papaemanuel pointed out. Amen, Peter. What do you think of the move? MTV’s ‘True Life’ Hits NYC’s Zuccotti Park Tomorrow

Special airs Saturday at 6 p.m. ET; Also, activist Davey D gives MTV News an inside look at the fiery Occupy Oakland protests. By Uptin Saiidi Bryan in “True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street” In the weeks since Americans fed up with the status quo hit New York’s Zuccotti Park to protest issues like economic inequality and social injustice, the movement has spread around the globe. On Saturday at 6 p.m. ET, MTV’s special “True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street” will introduce viewers to a handful of the young demonstrators trying to bring about change. But if there’s another U.S. city that has taken to the spirit of the Occupy protests to the next level, it’s surely Oakland, California. In downtown Oakland, about 7,000 activists turned out on Wednesday for a general strike, which led to arrests and business shutdowns; the nation’s fifth largest port was even forced to close. Activist and journalist Davey D , an associate of MTV News correspondent and Oakland native Sway Calloway, has been covering the events since they first started. He told us that Wednesday’s events made a major statement. “Shutting down the port of Oakland is a huge thing that hasn’t happened in decades and hasn’t happened in Oakland in over 65 years,” Davey said. “It makes $8 million a day and the money goes toward the 1 percent. It’s a tangible movement — each day you shut down something, it delays things.” The Occupy movements are being driven largely by young Americans at a time when the unemployment rate among youths under 25 is 18 percent compared to the national rate of 9 percent. In a recent MTV survey of young adults (ages 18 to 29), 72 percent said they were afraid they might not live up to their potential, while nearly three-quarters of people agreed with the statement, “things are unfair for my generation because we have to start our careers during this economic crisis.” MTV’s special “True Life” episode follows a few supporters who fit that description, including Bryan, a high school grad from Massachusetts who doesn’t see the long-term benefit of attending college when there are few jobs to had post-graduation. When viewers meet him, he’s working to get Zuccotti Park clean after word comes down that the private park’s owners want to temporarily evict the protestors in order to fix up the property themselves. Panic spreads as Occupiers fear the eviction will be permanent. College students Kait and Caitlin, who are so nervous about not being able to find a job that they’ve recruited friends into the rally, are also featured. MTV’s ‘True Life: I’m Occupying Wall Street’ airs November 5 at 6 p.m. ET.
