A Sheepish R. Kelly Says He “Had A Very Good Time” While Slizzed With K.Michelle During Studio Sessions!

Did the Pied Piper chop down Love And Hip-Hop’s loudest mouth??? K. Michelle has always referred to R.Kelly as her mentor and “idol” but it sounds like there might have been just as much pleasure as there was business between the two singer/songwriters. In 2011 interview with The Urban Daily she said: How did you link up with R. Kelly? Well actually, I was supposed to sign with him first through Jive, and what ended up happening was I went in the building and Wayne Williams took a great interest in me. And from there, after I signed with Jive, a week later they took me to R. Kelly. How did the relationship form from there? He’s a comedian; he’s hilarious! He either likes you or he doesn’t. So thank God he liked me. And we’ve been friends ever since. Were you nervous? Oh absolutely. Because I had looked up to him for years, and I really wanted to be able to sing different topics. And my label signed me as a female R.Kelly, because he topic I came in singing about was so off the wall. So they were like, “Okay. Now you can meet your idol. And when you go in here, if he doesn’t like you, don’t get your feelings hurt.” I was shaking. But he was so … he was just cool. The first thing he asked me when he saw me was, “Are you a stripper?” Legit question if you ask us… When “The Arrah” appeared on The Morning Grind with Rashan Ali on Streetz 94.5 in Atlanta the R&B he got noticably hot-and-bothered when the subject of Love And Hip-Hop’s K. Michelle was broached Listen to the clip below, do you think he was chopping that down? Download: r-kelly-talks-relationship-with-k-michele.mp3 Drunken studio shenanigans? Sounds like “V.S.O.P.” has a whole new meaning… Image via Twitter/Splash Continue reading

Hip-Hop Dad Fights Fatherhood Stereotypes With New Book

Read the rest here:

The Urban Daily sports blogger Jamiyl Samuels aims to show Black fathers in a positive light with his upcoming book. “Pass The Torch: How A Young Black Father Challenges the ‘Deadbeat Dad’ Stereotype” tackles the hot-button issue of fatherhood in the Black community and the affect the lack of a father figure has on young Black males. Disturbed by the negative and stereotypical portrayal of young Black fathers in the media, Samuels speaks from his own personal experiences growing up without a father and draws a parallel to the equally criticized world of Hip Hop whose artists mostly came from broken homes, but rose from their rough upbringing to break the cycle of abandonment with their own children.  “Pass The Torch” praises Black fathers who do right by their children and offers a fresh perspective on a controversial issue. “Pass The Torch” will be released through Samuels’ own  W.R.E.a.C Havoc Publishing imprint via Createspace.com and Amazon.com in the near future.
