True Or False? Keyshia Cole Says “My Family Doing Reality TV Helped Our Relationship” [Video]

Recently, the one and only Keyshia Cole sat down with VladTV, and the humble chanteuse spoke honestly about the decade that she’s invested into her career. The “Heaven Sent” singer frankly offers, “It’s a blessing to be here so long — and also [to] continue to do reality TV with my siblings and my mother.” Although the Oakland native has achieved many professional accomplishments, her personal life and the interactions with her extended family has been scrutinized for years. Keyshia goes on to reveal that her “family is actually making progress” with the help of reality TV. As the conversation turned to her upcoming seventh album, the organic entertainer and reality show starlet revealed her elation to have worked with both Verse Simmonds and producer London. She claims, “I feel like London is my musical soulmate for this album.” She goes on to reveal that the album is a “work in progress” and that producer Amadeus and others have also contributed to its creation. Keyshia then spoke on being the executive producer of her sister Neffe’s and mother Frankie’s new reality TV show, saying she’s even more excited to be working on their show than she is to be on her own. Check out the full clip to see what she has to say about her “long journey” of working with BET, touring in 2015, and being confident about her personal life.

Trouble Does The Time On His 431 Days Mixtape

‘This is one of my biggest mixtapes that I dropped in a long time,’ host DJ Bigga Rankin tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX Trouble Photo: MTV News Mixtape Daily Main Pick Headliners : Trouble, DJ Bigga Rankin, DJ Teknikz and DJ Frank White Representing : Atlanta Mixtape : 431 Days Real Spit : Time waits for no man. It’s an age-old adage that Atlanta rapper Trouble is fully aware of. On December 17, 2008, the Duct Tape Entertainment MC was jailed on aggravated assault, and exactly two years later, in 2010, he was released. The date holds so much significance for Trouble that he went on to name his debut mixtape December 17th and then his latest tape 431 Days, signifying the amount of time between his release from jail and the tape’s March 27 release. “This is one of my biggest mixtapes that I dropped in a long time,” DJ Bigga Rankin, one of 431 Days ‘ three hosts, told Mixtape Daily. “When he speaks, he speaks the truth.” While some rappers choose to focus their attention on the club or big radio hits, Trouble specializes in emotive street material. It isn’t that he simply raps about his experience in the trap; the Zone 6 spitter takes things a step further and explores the feelings that surround his harsh realities. On “Never Understand,” Trouble teams with Bun B to explain what makes him different from his rap contemporaries. “Confused ass, little bustas bussin’, all over nothin’/ Catch a case and then turn state, who can you trust in,” Trouble raps about so-called hustlers who are ill-prepared for the drug game’s consequences. The entire 431 Days tape is peppered with this type of analysis. “All I’m Worried About” is a dedication to the rapper’s family and closest friends. With his very first line, Trouble makes it clear where his allegiances lie: “Every plate I get with food on it, I take it to my moms/ Not just crumbs, you n—as really bums.” Gucci Mane also shows up for “Hustle Ambition,” Verse Simmonds on the female-friendly “Would You” and, of course, Alley Boy and Big Bank Black from Duct Tape contribute as well. Throughout the 17-track mixtape, Trouble displays an overwhelming sense of urgency. There isn’t a wasted song, as the MC paints a focused picture with each track. Here’s to his next 431 days! Rihanna ‘Can’t Wait’ For Fans To Hear New Album

RiRi and her ‘Cheers’ producers tweet about recording album number six. By James Montgomery Rihanna Photo: James Devaney/WireImage She may still be wringing singles from her platinum-plus Loud album, but Rihanna is already prepping her sixth studio effort. And, from the sound of things, it’ll be finished soon. RiRi took to her Twitter account early Thursday morning (September 15) to confirm that, yes, sessions for album number six are already under way. “I can’t wait to start filling u guys in on some details!” she exclaimed. Rihanna punctuated that tweet with a “*Zips lips*,” meaning that, for now at least, she’s done talking about the project. Talk of new music began on Wednesday, when the singer retweeted a post from production duo the Runners (Rihanna’s “California King Bed” and “Cheers”), who wrote , “Shout out to @alexdelicata for makin history with us. Wait till they hear this new @rihanna song.” But in late July, producer Verse Simmonds — one half of the studio duo known as the Jugganauts, who produced Rihanna’s hit “Man Down” — talked to MTV News’ Mixtape Daily about the new album, saying that Ri was close to completing work on the disc. “From what I understand, she’s is closing the album up now, and we did two records for her that she really, really loved, and I’m really excited about them as well,” Simmonds said. “They are records that we wrote and produced as the Jugganauts.” Simmonds said he was “99.999 percent” sure that he and production partner Sak Pase’s contributions would make the final cut, and while he wouldn’t elaborate on what Rihanna’s new album would sound like, he did hint that it’ll move in a direction quite different from “Man Down.” “Because we … as producers, as artists, we try to always come with something different, a whole new sound,” he explained. Of course, finishing up her album isn’t the only thing on Rihanna’s plate these days. During Wednesday night’s “The X Factor” launch party in Los Angeles, Simon Cowell confirmed to KIIS FM that she would also serve as a guest judge on the show, saying, “You’re going to see her.” Related Artists Rihanna
