Kendall Jenner: SLAMMED For Tone Deaf Pepsi Commercial!

The Kardashian-Jenner clan has always had trouble staying on message politically. After being hailed as an advocate for the trans community, Caitlyn Jenner stuck by her conservative , Republican views. Kim and Kris supported Hillary in the 2016 presidential election … but then Kanye West met with Donald Trump during the president's shady transition. But no matter where you fall on the Kard clan political spectrum, one thing we can all agree on is that Kendall Jenner's new Pepsi commercial is dumb as hell. The ad seems to be aiming for a tone similar to that of the famous “I'd Like to Buy the World a Coke” commercial of 1971 by acknowledging the current climate of political strife while encouraging unity. But man did it miss the mark by a mile. For an indication of how mind-blowingly tone deaf the spot is, look no further than these side-by-side screengrabs: Yes, that's a bunch of cops recoiling in horror from a black woman while accepting the gift of ice cold Pepsi from Kendall. It's not hard to see why social media responded with a collective WTF? The intention of the ad seems to be to give an approving nod to both protesters and police while … giving Kendall Jenner woke points? We're not really sure. Whatever the intention, having Kenny save the day with with a crispy can of sugar water is just downright confusing. When your ad could've benefited from the social consciousness of Don freakin' Draper, you know you messed up bad.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Honors Orlando Shooting Victims with Sonnet

Leave it to Lin-Manuel Miranda to find a powerful, unique way to honors those killed in the Orlando shooting early Sunday morning. The creator and star of Hamilton, which dominated the 2016 Tony Awards last night, made a powerful statement while accepting the Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre category. It was written in sonnet form and it opened by thanking his wife, before Miranda moved on to paying tribute to the 50 victims who were killed inside a gay nightclub . “We chase the melodies that seem to find us until they’re finished songs and start to play,” Miranda said. “When senseless acts of tragedy remind us that nothing here is promised, not one day.” He later added: Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside. “I hadn’t written anything going into today. I hadn’t heard about the day’s events until after our Tony rehearsal,” Miranda said backstage after the ceremony, during which Hamilton won 11 awards including best musical. “I’d always had this time between rehearsal and tonight to think about what I’d say if I was lucky enough to be called up, and it sort of informed all of it… “We live in this world where beautiful and horrible things exist at the same time and often on the same day. … Theater doesn’t exist without the LGBTQ community. It’s the cornerstone of our industry.” Earlier in the Tony Awards, host James Corden also honored the victims of the Orlando shooting. “Hate will never win,” he remarked in pre-taped remarks before the event began. Take a look at Miranda's full sonnet below and join us in honoring those who died in this senseless act of ignorance, hate and cowardice in Orlando.

N SYNC: Pissed at Justin Timberlake For Limited Reunion Role?

Are the other members of N SYNC upset with Justin Timberlake for their small role in his epic 15-minute performance at the MTV Video Music Awards? NSYNC Bandmates Upset With Justin Timberlake? In case you missed it – which would be understandable if you so much as blinked – the much-touted N Sync reunion Sunday night was pretty minimal. Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez joined JT for a brief medley of the boy band’s hits “Gone,” “Girlfriend” and “Bye, Bye, Bye.” But that was it, a quick interlude in an acclaimed performance carried by Timberlake himself before and after the group took the stage in Brooklyn. “They were pushing for more,” an insider tells Us Weekly . “While [Timberlake] was thrilled they could come, he didn’t want the reunion to be the whole thing. They originally were told that it was going to be more of their old hits.” “Then Justin reworked it.” N SYNC Reunion – MTV VMAs 2013 Justin Timberlake VMAs Performance It wouldn’t be shocking if the guys did yearn for more time on stage, since it was Timberlake who pulled the whole thing together in the first place. Chasez revealed that Timberlake called him up, and said, “Hey man, listen. I’m getting this award and they have given me a pile of time to perform.” “We started our careers at MTV; I think we should get the band back together,” Justin told JC, who didn’t seem too broken up about it to be honest. Timberlake also gave them a classy shout-out while accepting the Video Vanguard Award, so it’s hard to believe there was any ill intent on his part. What do you think? Was the N Sync reunion a disappointment? Or just right, considering the powerhouse effort Justin put forth before and after?
