Tony Awards 2016: Who Won?!?

The 2016 Tony Awards aired live from New York on Sunday night. Although host James Corden and company were forced to take a sobering tone due to the tragic Orlando shooting that took place in a gay nightclub just hours prior to the event. “Our hearts go out to all of those affected by this atrocity,” Corden said to open the ceremony, adding: “You’re not on your own. Your tragedy is our tragedy. Hate will never win. We have to make sure of that. Tonight’s show stands as a symbol of that principle.” And that show did have to go on, despite the death of 50 people in Florida. As expected, the best-reviewed and most popular production in Broadway dominated the winner’s circle. The spirit of Occupy Wall Street has reached the suburbs of New York City. Michael Davitt, a 54-year-old man apparently distraught over losing his government job three years ago as a substance abuse counselor, stopped his van on the Tappan Zee Bridge, tied a harness to the van, then jumped over the bridge’s railing. He hung from the bridge for several hours, resting on a huge banner that read in part:… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Reason Magazine – Hit & Run Discovery Date : 07/11/2011 18:48 Number of articles : 3

Ryan Reynolds And Scarlett Johansson: A Look Back

Reynolds recently referred to Johansson as his ‘best buddy.’ By Jocelyn Vena Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds in September 2009 Photo: Pacific Coast News It’s been a bad week for celebrity relationships. First came news that Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron had broken up , and then Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson announced that they were splitting after two years of marriage. While the two had remained relatively private about their relationship, which began in 2007, they always had the kindest things to say about their marriage and each other. Shortly after getting married in 2008, Johansson admitted that she loved having a private wedding, opting out of the lavish Hollywood affairs many of her peers tend to throw. “It was my mission to have a moment of privacy, to do something for myself,” Johansson told the Los Angeles Times about the wedding, which took place in Canada. “I was happy with the results of that.” She opened up about her decision to marry in Glamour last year, saying, “I never really thought about getting married — it just kind of happened. It seemed natural, the right thing to do. It was kind of a celebration of the time.” The actress and sometime singer expressed her happiness about having that special someone in her life. In the May issue of InStyle, Johansson opened up about being married to the “Green Lantern” star , saying, “I mean, you’re married, and suddenly you have your own family. There’s a nice comfort in that. That part of your life is certain, in a way. You’ve got your home in that other person.” Reynolds expressed a similar sentiment to People when he was declared the Sexiest Man Alive. Of being married to Johansson, he said, “You get to hang out with your best buddy every day.” At the Tony Awards in June, when Johansson took the stage to accept an acting award for “A View From the Bridge,” she gave a nod to her husband , thanking “the Canadian I live with.” The two had very bustling careers, and Reynolds noted in GQ this fall that kidsweren’t in the plans just yet. “A few years down the road, having a family,” he said. “That’s years away at this point.” Related Photos The Way They Were: Ryan Reynolds And Scarlett Johansson
