Duff showed off what she called her “modern family” through an adorable vacation photo of Mike, her and their son Luca: “#modernfamily #vacation #juicypear” the 26-year-old mom hashtagged alongside it. HIlary and Mike split last month. After the announcement she tweeted: “Mike and I are sitting here, we are so appreciative for all of your kindness & well wishes. Not an easy day but we’re getting thru it together.” Her rep made a statement saying the pair “remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives.” Looks like their friendship is going strong despite the break-up. Tiny’s Father Passes Away From Alzheimer’s Disease In sad news out of Atlanta, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle’s father has passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Tiny posted this message on her Facebook page on Thursday evening following the news of his passing: “Attention Everybody: See today I lost my father and right now I’m heart broken and I’m sad. I’m crying because my father was my everything. I was his everything, he was mines. I never thought I would lose him this soon but for the 37 soon to be 38 years that I’ve known [him], he was the best father ever. He did everything he can for me; he never let me down. I realize 2013 everybody is losing their love one and it’s going to be really hard for me to get over this but, life has to go on. Even though we are not ready for our loved ones to go, God is and I believe in destiny and I know my dad died with love for me in his heard and no one can every take his place. R.I.P. Good Night.” Tiny ended her message with one last heartbreaking plea to her late father: “Daddy why did you have to leave me so soon? I can’t bear to see you in a coffin. I’m gonna scream and cry when they lay you down. I don’t want them to. I’m gonna miss talkin to you, hearin your voice, your laugh seein your face, huggin you, touching you, cooking for you. Cheerios is refusing the let the bigots win. The brand found itself at the center of an unexpected controversy last week after an advertisement that featured a mixed race family was hit with racial epithets on YouTube. Controversial Cheerios Commercial But Camille Gibson – vice president of marketing for Cheerios – says the message of the spot fits in with the cereal’s Heart Healthy campaign and: “We felt like we were reflecting an American family.” The national commercial will continue running as scheduled for several months. And – despite the vocal minority online – overall, Gibson said, the feedback has been overwhelmingly supportive: “Consumers are actually responding very positively to the ad.” Thank goodness. It really is like Patton Oswalt said after the Boston bombing: the good people outnumber the bad people in this world by a large margin.
Rapper Trina Speaks Out About Her Brother’s Death Last week, it was sadly reported that Miami rapstress Trina had unexpectedly lost her brother Wilbrent, who was known to friends and family as “Gonk,” when he died after being shot in broad daylight by a man who has since been arrested in connection with the shooting. Trina had initially remained publicly silent about the tragic news, but she took to her Instagram on Tuesday to break her silence and thank the public for their support: We will continue to keep Trina and her family in our prayers during this difficult time.
NFL star Michael Vick says he won’t be bullied by a spate of recent death threats, but he has canceled his upcoming book tour in the wake of them. The once-imprisoned QB and author of Finally Free: An Autobiography says he will continue his work with community service organizations, too. Vick nixed his book tour after “credible threats” were called in to several Barnes & Noble stores across the country, but “won’t let this control his life.” Michael’s rep says, “Regardless of the past threats, he has millions of fans around the world and has been receiving countless messages of support.” “He will continue to keep an active schedule working with charities.” Mike Vick will continue to work with the Team Freedom Outreach (recreation and visitation programs for youth detention centers) and the VFW organization. He also has several security measures in place in case more threats are made and plans on giving police a heads up before he visits the centers. “Mike is committed to helping make his community a better place,” Vick’s rep says. “[he] is determined to continue his work with charity and helping others.”

Justin Bieber unleashed an epic rant on Twitter today, fresh off criticism leveled at the singer for often not wearing a shirt and for showing up late to a concert in London over the weekend. “Rumors, rumors and more rumors,” the singer wrote this morning. “Nothing more nothing less. might talk about them 1 day. rt now im just gonna be positive. cant bring me down.” But Justin was far from finished.
