Hollywood lost a legend this week. As previously reported, Stan Lee died at the age of 95 . It didn't take long after this news broke for scores of tributes to come flooding in for the co-creator of Marvel, someone responsible for entertaining and educating millions upon millions of comic book fans. Many of these tributes, especially from celebrites, included a photo of the person making the tribute and Lee. Together. It was often a selfie. What's the big deal? Isn't this a typical move in the social media age? Yes, and Hammer is here to explain why it's the wrong move — while many others are here to disagree with him… 1. The Tweet That Started It All “So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself,” wrote Hammer. 2. As you’ve no doubt heard by now, dozens have lost their lives and millions of dollars in property has been destroyed, as California continues to battle the deadliest wildfires in the state’s history. Numerous celebrities have lost their homes, including Miley Cyrus, Gerard Butler, and Robin Thicke. Those stars have received an outpouring of support from fan,s and it seems Tori Spelling may have taken one look at the tidal wave of sympathy and thought, how can I get in on that?! Tori took to Instagram this week and told a tale of being evacuated just as the fires made their way to her neighborhood: “My big brood and I were evacuated last night. My eyes swell with happy tears when I reflect on how many friends immediately reached out and offered their homes to us,” the actress said. “No small offer when you are talking about a family of seven. Some I don’t even know that well but as part of our school community they stepped up. Thank you all!” Fans were quick to rally behind Tori with words of love and support. “Praying for you and your family,” commented one follower. “I’m so sad and sorry this is happening! Praying for you all,” wrote another. It’s great that Spelling has such caring friends and fans … but it looks like those folks may have been bamboozled by the notoriously unstable actress. “I haven’t heard anything about Mulholland Drive [where Spelling resides] being affected,” a Los Angeles County fire marshal tells Radar Online. “I can tell you that I was just sent from Miracle Mile and we’re here in Woodland Hills in kind of a standby mode. We have been dispatched to different place across the city. We have different pools of fire engines kind of in a standby mode.” The unidentified firefighter went on to say that there’s a possibility Spelling’s neighborhood could be affected by the fires — but it definitely hasn’t happened yet: “We still have high winds and there is danger, so there could be spots and new fires that can break out. So we are sieging resources to get ready for that,” says the fire marshal. It’s possible there’s some confusion here, or that Spelling and her family made the decision to evacuate on their own out of an abundance of caution. But if it turns out Tori is lying, we think it’s safe to say this incident won’t do any wonders for her already battered reputation. It’s anyone’s guess as to why she would concoct such a story. Spelling’s financial troubles have been well-documented, so it’s possible she exaggerated her situation in hope of a handout. Insiders who know the actress say Tori seems to lie compulsively, and they’ve learned to take everything she says with a grain of salt. Here’s hoping Tori will provide soon post an update clarifying that this has all been one big misunderstanding. Otherwise, she may have just reached a new rock bottom in a career that’s been filled with them.

Benefiting the Red for Hope Foundation Featuring: Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez Stevie J & Joseline In Legal Battle Over Unborn Baby Bonnie Stevie J said he doesn’t care if his ex Joseline produced paperwork showing she’s been drug-free during her pregnancy, he still wants a court order to drug test their baby girl. Stevie filed court docs this week saying he didn’t ask for the drug test to embarrass Joseline, but he is simply a caring dad with a soon to be baby mama with a history of drug abuse. He also reiterated his claims that his ex-lover had abused drugs and alcohol – specifically cocaine – throughout her pregnancy. “Respondent has verifiable concerns regarding the health and well-being of the minor child/fetus, which has been articulated in three pleadings and his arguments before the court…” Stevie said in his motion papers, which were obtained by BOSSIP. Earlier this week, Joseline filed court docs with tests that show she hasn’t done drugs during her pregnancy. She said she’d also have the baby drug tested voluntarily as soon as she’s born next month. But Stevie said her drug tests weren’t conducted by certified by a licensed medical professional, and her medical team doesn’t have the capability to drug test the baby. “Respondent believes that it is in the best interest of the minor child to determine if she has been exposed to such illegal drugs while in utero,” Stevie wrote in court docs. “Such testing administered by a licensed medical professional is essential to make such determination as to the exposure or ingestion thereof by the minor child.” Specifically, Stevie wants the baby’s poop tested because the baby’s waste will show whether the tot was exposed to cocaine while inside Joseline’s womb. A judge has yet to rule on Stevie’s plea for a court order to drug test the baby. WENN

This had to be scary. Music Executive Held Hostage Crazy. According to Mail Online A former music industry executive was slashed with a machete on Sunday while being held hostage by his girlfriend’s ex-husband, who slit his own wrists before being taken into custody. Jerry Sharell, was cut several times on the neck and was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after the hours-long ordeal in Los Angeles, LAPD officer Sara Faden said. He was listed as stable on Monday. Sharell worked with the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Queen and Motley Crue during a career as music executive dating back to the 1970s. The hostage situation began about 8 a.m. Sunday at Sharell’s home in the Woodland Hills area about 20 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, Faden said. A neighbor told KCBS-TV that the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and pulled out a machete – and a bouquet of flowers – before entering the house and taking Sharell and his girlfriend, Gigi Vasseghi, hostage. ‘He would ask a question and if he didn’t like the answer, he’d cut the boyfriend on the neck,’ said Sergeant Alex Kim. After between three and five hours, the woman was able to get away and call police from a neighbor’s home. Arriving officers ordered the suspect to drop the machete. By the time he did, he had slit his own wrists. ‘He asked his ex-wife to watch as he killed himself,’ Sergent Jeff Nuttall told KCBS. The suspect, 57-year-old Behnam Vasseghi of Woodland Hills, remained hospitalized Monday in stable condition, Faden said. He was expected in court Tuesday to face attempted murder charges. The woman, who was not identified, was also injured during the struggle to get away and was treated at a hospital and released. She was pictured sitting at the crime scene with bloody bandages around her head and hands. ‘Jerry is just the nicest guy — so cute and adorable. His wife passed away about a year ago. WTF is goin’ on with this man ?!?! Via TMZ Katt Williams was arrested Friday for allegedly endangering his 4 children … TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … LAPD cops picked Katt up at his Woodland Hills home this morning, after an investigation from the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services concluded there were numerous guns and illegal drugs in the house that created a safety hazard for the kids. Our sources say … during the arrest various items were seized. Katt is still in custody … being held on $100,000 bail. As for the kids … authorities have placed them in protective custody We’re told the case will go to the D.A. next week for possible felony child endangerment charges. SMH.
