Kristen Stewart Amused By ‘Snow White’ Co-Star Charlize Theron

‘I love the effect she has on people,’ KStew tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal Despite their obvious differences both onscreen and off, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have formed a bond during the filming of “Snow White and the Huntsman” and even more so during the current press tour in support of the film. When MTV News caught up with Stewart recently, we asked her to compare the familiar scenario of doing interviews with her longtime “Twilight” co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner versus her new castmate, the lovely Ms. Theron. “When Rob, Taylor and I do interviews together, they usually don’t actually ask us anything. We just get to hang out and people like to watch that,” Stewart said with a laugh. “It’s fine, because I like hanging out with those guys, but it is weird. With Charlize, it’s been great, because we’re so proud of the movie and we actually only worked together for three days, so we got to know each other probably more or at least on a certain level during press, and it’s been nice. It’s been fun.” Stewart said she especially admires Theron’s ability to light up a room with her energy and humor. “Some people intimidate you. Some people’s energy is so big you feel like you don’t fit in the room, but with her, I really appreciate how different we are. I love the effect she has on people,” Stewart said. “I find it hilarious. I love watching it happen. I do not have that. Maybe I have something else, but it’s definitely not as visceral. Also, she’s really hilarious,” she added, noting that the Oscar winner uses the more colorful swear words with particular aplomb. “[She] puts me to shame, to be honest,” Stewart said. T.I. To Stir Up Trouble On Wednesday’s ‘RapFix Live’!

Rap rookie Tito Lopez will also join Sway at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. By Rob Markman T.I. Photo: Rahav Segev/ Getty Images It’s time to roll out the royal carpet, because the King is set to make his debut on “RapFix Live.” On Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, T.I. will sit down with Sway Calloway and chop it up about his upcoming album, Trouble Man. Tip has a grind like no other. Since being released from prison last fall, the Atlanta rapper landed a VH1 reality series with his wife, Tiny, added some new muscle to his Grand Hustle record label, and immediately began recording for his eighth solo album. The street-bred MC, who popularized the term Trap Music, has long promised a return to the T.I. of old. “We got a lot of hot, old-school, vintage T.I. records on there,” he told MTV News during a January interview. “I’m talking like gutter, gangsta, intellectual ignorance, hard-core stadium sh–, but at the same time, we got those over-the-top crossover records as well, big features and whatnot we plan on putting into play.” The fiery lyricist isn’t only concerned with his own music: Earlier this month, prot

‘Hunger Games’ Actress Isabelle Fuhrman Wanted To Play Katniss

‘I went in and actually auditioned for her, but I was too young,’ recalls the 15-year-old, who plays District 2 tribute Clove instead. By Amy Wilkinson Isabelle Fuhrman Photo: MTV News Few film roles in recent memory have been as hotly contested as the bow-and-arrow-wielding heroine of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian ” Hunger Games .” A year ago, it seemed every working actress in Hollywood under the age of 25 was auditioning for the role of Katniss Everdeen — a part that eventually went to Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence. But director Gary Ross was able to utilize at least one would-be Katniss, namely Isabelle Fuhrman, who plays District 2’s vicious tribute Clove. “I saw myself as Katniss, but I think everyone does when they read the book, because that’s the character that you related to so much because you’re seeing the whole story through her eyes,” Fuhrman told MTV News recently. “From page one, I was like, ‘Oh, I want to be Katniss so badly.’ That’s what I wrote in [a] letter to Gary, how much I wanted to play Katniss. I went in and actually auditioned for her, but I was too young because I [was] 14.” Of course, Fuhrman said there are no hard feelings between her and Lawrence, whom she described as the “perfect” Katniss. In fact, landing the role of Clove came with the bonus of learning a new (potentially lethal) skill: knife throwing. “I’m not going to be modest right now: I’m very good at it, and I’m very proud of that,” Fuhrman said with a grin. “That was so hard to learn how to do, because there is a lot of physics involved with it. The knife goes three knife-lengths each rotation, and [you have to] how much force you want to put into it so it lands with the blade in versus the butt. It was difficult, to say the least, because I did training for about only two weeks before we started shooting, so I had to pick it up pretty quickly.” You can witness Fuhrman’s nifty knife skills when “The Hunger Games” opens Friday. ‘Hunger Games’ Star Liam Hemsworth Is ‘Team Haymitch’

‘Woody Harrelson is one of my favorite actors, and I was really, really excited to see Haymitch come to life,’ Aussie actor tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Liam Hemsworth Photo: MTV News As painful as it has been for us “Hunger Games” fans to wait for the film’s release, imagine how anxious the stars themselves have been to see it. We’ve heard how Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson reacted to seeing the finished film for the first time, and now it’s time to hear what co-star Liam Hemsworth had to say after his first viewing. “It was amazing just to see all the different actors and what they’ve done with it,” Hemsworth told MTV News recently. “Woody Harrelson is one of my favorite actors, and I was really, really excited to see Haymitch come to life. He’s awesome. I’m Team Haymitch all the way; I think he’s amazing. “The movie is intense from beginning to end, and it’s powerful,” Hemsworth added about the finished product. “You have this girl who gives so much hope and courage to everyone, and Jennifer is the perfect person to play it. She pulled it off perfect.” After joking with the Aussie actor about how his brother, “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth , helped him prepare for the initial audition, we asked Liam how he approached his character knowing that, while he doesn’t have a lot of screen time, his role in Katniss’ life is vital. “It does add a little pressure. It’s always harder when you’re coming in for smaller amounts and you have to convey everything that needs to be conveyed in small moments, but the writing was that good that it wasn’t hard,” Hemsworth said of maximizing his screen time. “The director was that good and Jennifer was amazing, so it was all kind of already there.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hunger Games.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Hunger Games’ Training Helped Jennifer Lawrence Become Katniss

Lawrence’s conditioning coach talks about the demanding training schedule that whipped the actress into survival-of-the-fittest shape. By Kara Warner Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate In case you’re not already aware, Jennifer Lawrence put in a lot of extra work in her preparation to play Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games.” Lawrence told us herself about all the time she spent training, but she made it seem like it was no big deal. Don’t let her fool you, though; she worked her butt off in preparation. MTV News recently caught up with strength and conditioning coach Joe Horrigan, who worked specifically with Lawrence on the film and gave us the inside scoop on what the hardworking actress did to get all Katniss-like. “I’ve worked on a number of films before to help actors lose weight or prepare for a particular role or even gain weight, so I was asked to help Jennifer on this,” Horrigan said. “Jennifer and [director]Gary Ross had discussed how they felt that she should look, they thought that she should be a little bit leaner — it is, after all, entitled ‘The Hunger Games’ — but she shouldn’t be gaunt.” During pre-production, Horrigan helped Lawrence perfect her running technique during daily workouts, along with strength and endurance training. “She worked with me usually twice a day, and that could be a combination of work at the track, which included agility drills, sprint work and running work, and she also had to work with an archery coach three or four days a week, and in the evening we would do stationary bike work, a mix of anaerobic and aerobic work,” he explained. “At a certain point she had to start working with the stunt crew. They had their own obstacle course and wanted her to be able to hop over trees and climb trees and that type of thing, so she was very familiar with it.” Through it all, Horrigan said he was most impressed with Lawrence’s dedication to the training, along with her positive attitude and work ethic. “She had a genuine excitement about the character and the role, and her opportunity to do this,” he said. “I don’t think she ever saw this as stressful or hard work, she did everything she was asked to do, and never complained.” Horrigan, who has worked with actors in preparation for a variety of films like “The Matrix,” “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” and “Savages,” said Lawrence also developed a new perspective on archery. “I think she developed a whole new respect for what elite archers do. I think she started with [shooting] 80 arrows a day. Elite archers shoot about 450 arrows a day,” he said. “That gave her a whole new respect.” And then somewhere along the long road, Lawrence made the transition into her character. “Everything just came together and we all felt that over a period of time she became Katniss.” Do you think you’re in Hunger Games shape? ‘Hunger Games’ Star Josh Hutcherson Doesn’t ‘Play It Cool’ Like Peeta

‘Peeta has a hard time saying how he feels to women. I have the opposite problem,’ Hutcherson tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Josh Hutcherson Photo: MTV News For the Josh Hutcherson fans out there who have been onboard with his “Hunger Games” casting in the role of Peeta Mellark since the beginning, you’re clearly on the same page as the actor himself, who has told us several times that he feels such a connection to Peeta that it “hurts.” “I feel like so much of who I am is Peeta,” Hutcherson told MTV News recently . “It drove me crazy during the audition process, because I was like, ‘This is so me, it hurts. If I don’t get this, I’m not even good at being me, so now what am I? I have no idea what to do next.’ ” And when we caught up with the young man behind the boy with the bread during the film’s press day, we asked if there was anything he and Peeta don’t have in common. “Peeta has a hard time saying how he feels to women. I have the opposite problem,” Hutcherson admitted. “I say it too soon, so we’re different in that respect. But, honestly, we’re very similar in so many ways it’s kind of hard to pick out the difference.” When asked whether his upfront approach in revealing his feelings too soon works in his favor, the “Journey 2” actor had no problem admitting defeat. “Not at all,” he said of his method’s effectiveness. “I think I should probably adopt more of Peeta’s strategy and maybe play it cool a little longer.” As those of us who have read Suzanne Collins’ books well know, however, that Peeta doesn’t play it cool for very long. Once he admits his feelings for Katniss, his affection does not waver at all. “Well, it’s borderline obsessed and that’s never good to be obsessed with anything really, but I think that he’s just that in love,” Hutcherson said in reference to his character’s attachment to Katniss. “He can’t help himself; he’s just head-over-heels and hopelessly in love.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Hunger Games.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
