‘Bruce Cohen is a Liar’: Gay Oscar Producer’s Wiki Bio Attacked Over Censored Kiss

As if on cue, openly gay Oscarcast co-producer Bruce Cohen is facing the ultimate Web sanction for that censored Javier Bardem-Josh Brolin smooch from Sunday night: an attacked Wikipedia bio calling him a “liar” and homophobe in cahoots with ABC. Slow clap, Internet, slow clap.

Star Wars in 3-D Gets Official Release Date

Good news, bad news, Star Wars fans. Lucasfilm has set Feb. 10, 2012 as the date for the first re-release of the franchise in 3-D. Unfortunately, they’re starting with Episode I — The Phantom Menace . How many injuries will result from people attempting to savagely elbow Jar-Jar Binks in the face during these 3-D showings? Can we all agree that the Thor marketing materials thus far have been a little less than thrilling? Good. Because now we really have something to look forward to from the Kenneth Branagh-directed Marvel actioner — an epic-scale tent pole set on two worlds with a sense of humor about itself, lots of swirling, hammer-smashing action, fantastical villains and creatures to ogle, and the acknowledged fetishizing of Chris Hemsworth’s abs.

Newsies Musical Gets Start Date

Newsies , perhaps the greatest Bad Movie We Love , will hit Broadway as a new musical from Sept. 15-Oct. 16 at Millburn, New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse. Original composer Alan Menken is signed on, and he says the show “latche[s] onto exciting elements of what we had in the movie,” while “minimizing the things that were not so great about the movie.” This is a man who understands lovable badness.
