Bird Behavior: Carrier Pigeon Caught Smuggling These Illegal Narcotics Into Costa Rican Prison

Carrier Pigeon Caught Trying To Smuggle Drugs Into Prison Prison guards in Costa Rica caught a pigeon with a bag of drugs attached to its chest in a bizarre attempt to smuggle drugs to inmates. Via Boston News Times : Officers at La Reforma prison captured it with 14g of cocaine and 14g of cannabis stuffed into a black pouch which camouflaged against its dark feathers. They have previously caught other animals such as cats and iguanas trying to transport drugs into the prison in San Rafael de Alajuela, local websites have reported. The guards spotted the bird on Tuesday afternoon as it flew towards an open area of the medium security La Reforma prison, Teletica reported. Prison director Paul Bertozzi said: ‘They observed the bulge on the animal so they captured it and confirmed that it carried a bag with zipper – and the drugs were inside… It seems the dove was trained for it.’ The pigeon was examined by experts at the ZooAve Animal Rescue Centre who said the bag it was carrying caused some damage to its digestive system. Reports from Costa Rica suggest it will be kept in quarantine for at least 40 days because they believe it will return to where it came from if they release it. The head of the centre was ‘stunned’ by the incident and said it would be well looked after at the centre. The prison is now investigating who was responsible for the drug-smuggling attempt. Paul Bertozzi added: ‘We have a warning that this method can be used again as it is not the first time in the history of La Reforma that a pigeon was detected with drugs.’ Move that dope by any means necessary! Jon Gosselin Reportedly Leaves Trashed Home Strewn With Garbage, Abandoned Kitten After Eviction

Jon Gosselin’s former landlord is speaking out in the aftermath of his recent eviction, and suffice it to say, she does not paint a positive picture of the man. Linda Eways, who evicted Jon Gosselin from her house in Wernersville, Pa., says she paid a surprise visit to the property after she thought he’d moved out. And he had … for the most part. He certainly left his mark on the place. Not only did the father of eight leave the house trashed, strewn with garbage and debris with walls and doors damaged from Jon’s dog, he left something behind: A kitten. Yes, the landlord says she discovered a tiny cat abandoned there. Eways says she called Jon to ask about the kitten and he admitted as much. Well, specifically, he said his ex-girlfriend Liz Jannetta (the one he appeared on Couples Therapy with, apparently without a lot of success) left it there. According to earlier reports, Jon’s ex moved out in September, so the kitty was there for at least a few weeks with just Jon if our calendar is correct. Eways says the sight of the poor kitten “broke [her] heart” so she decided to adopt it. In that sense, at least the animal has a loving home now. But wow, Jon. We know times are tough, and being married to Kate Gosselin must have caused him major psychological damage … but come ON. What would his kids think? What does anyone with a beating hard think? 13 Couples Who Fell Apart on Reality Television 1. Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian The marriage between Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian lasted 72 days. Pretty much every second of it took place on reality TV. Star reached out to Jon, who claims what the landlord says “isn’t completely true,” but wouldn’t elaborate. So that totally makes us view him more favorably. Meanwhile, speaking of Kate, she’s having a yard sale soon and says that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to her local animal rescue league. We can’t believe we’re saying this, but #TeamKate. Too bad the animal rescue group find a way to relocate Jon from himself. Clearly he needs it. Also he needs a home BTW. Being broke and getting evicted and all.

Caption This Pic Full Of Pooch Preciousness

This woman rescued this dog and saved his life. Of course, he can’t talk…but this picture says it ALL! Dog Embraces Rescue Worker Who Saved Him Even dogs have their way of saying ‘thank you’….. via THG You often hear anecdotes of animals being able to experience and express humanlike emotions, and we sometimes see signs of this in our own pets.  This would be one of those times. Eva Armstrong, a director of Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue, heads a volunteer-run rescue group that has saved more than 800 dogs to date. On a recent trip to a high-kill “shelter” in Alabama, volunteers rescued a dachshund they named Captain Morgan because he had only one eye. The night he was rescued, Captain Morgan slept at the foot of Eva’s hotel bed. She took care of him until he was adopted by a family months later. Then, last week, Badass Brooklyn Animal Rescue held a “reunion” where Captain Morgan and Armstrong were reunited … and the photo says it all. A picture of the two of them in a warm embrace quickly went viral. Captain Morgan, now called Cappy by his adopted family, rests his head on Armstrong’s shoulder, seeming to smile as if this is the best moment ever. Too cute! How would you caption this ? War vets, shelter dogs heal together in program

WASHINGTON – Dave Sharpe was troubled by thoughts he could not share after he returned from a tour in Iraq. “I found myself waking up in the middle of the night, punching holes in walls, kicking and beating the refrigerator door,” he said. Then one day, the former Air Force senior airman went with a friend to a local pit bull rescue and took home a puppy, Cheyenne.
