“They Didn’t Need A Horse To Direct Seabiscuit”: Anthony Mackie Explains Why Black Directors Shouldn’t Expect To Direct Black Super Hero Movie Bruh, why are you still talking for us? Anthony Mackie is still spitting his nonsensical opinions about blackness into the press. The black actor spoke to The Daily Beast and they asked him his stance on Marvel hiring an African America to direct the Black Panther movie, which is a franchise based around a black super hero. The question is relevant because a director has not yet been chosen for the film although they’ve already planed on it’s 2018 release. He is what he had to say about it: “I don’t think it’s important at all,” he says. “As a director your job is to tell a story. You know, they didn’t get a horse to direct Seabiscuit ! The thing is I don’t think the race of the director has to do with their ability to tell a story. I think it’s all about the director’s ability to be able to relate to that story and do it justice. I think men can direct women, and two of my greatest work experiences were with female directors. So I think it all depends. May the best man—or wo man —win.” Comparing black people to horses seems problematic when there’s already a lack of black film makers and directors in Hollywood. Just keep your comments to yourself next time, dawg.
The Billboard reign for Justin Bieber‘s “What Do You Mean?” was halted thanks to fellow Canadians Drake and The Weeknd. Perhaps his new single “Sorry” will fare a little…
Anthony Mackie doesn’t have any sense. He pushes sexist ideas and cops for Donald Trump like they’re consensus thoughts rather examples of that lack of sense. He continues to…
Anthony Mackie clearly has a drinking problem. Though not the kind of drinking problem to which Scott Disick or others of that nature can relate. In an interview this week with BET, the actor was asked which 2016 Presidential campaign he would want to run, in light of his role in the new film Our Brand is Crisis . “I would 100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign,” said Mackie. “First, that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell.” An easy sell? How so? “If you you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing,” Mackie said. “And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.” That may be true as a general role… but Trump’s father was a millionaire real estate developer who played a key role in his son’s path to riches. So Trump is the opposite of a guy who worked his way up from nothing. Other than that detail, Mackie’s assessment is spot on. “I’m on the bandwagon,” Mackie, the anti-Jennifer Lawrence , said when asked if he would be voting for Trump. “I’m drinking the Kool-Aid.” And we’ve heard that’s the BEST Kool-Aid out there. It makes all other types of Kool-Aid into total and complete losers. View Slideshow: 19 Things Donald Trump Has Actually Said While Running for President
Anthony Mackie Endorses Donald Trump For President During a recent discussion with BET actor Anthony Mackie endorsed controversial candidate Donald Trump . The actor says he endorses Trump because he “worked his way from nothing” even thought his father was a millionaire… “I would 100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign. 100 percent,” he said. “I mean, first that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell… When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.” So, does all this praise mean that Mackie is backing Trump for the 2016 presidency? It seems so: “I’m on the bandwagon,” he said. “I’m drinking the Kool-Aid!” Wait…. what?!? Since when did inheriting $400 million from your rich daddy working “his way up from nothing?”
