Drake "Nothing Was the Same" Album Cover: Is That Blue Ivy?

Drake’s album cover for Nothing Was the Same has been released, and has people wondering if he’s paying homage to none other than Blue Ivy Carter. See below: Created by artist Kadir Nelson, the album cover portrays Drake against a cloudy blue sky facing a young African-American child with an adorable afro. Many fans believed – and not entirely unreasonably – was Jay-Z and Beyonce’s adorable baby daughter Blue Ivy . But it is NOT the case. The cutie is, instead, a younger version of … Drake himself! He explains: “It’s a child version of myself staring at myself now. Sometimes when I think back on this journey, it’s hard to pinpoint all of these moments and it gets foggy.” “Even on past albums when I’ve been trying to tell this story, I’ve got there, but maybe not got there all the way,” the Grammy winning rapper, 26, continued. “And what that album art is to me is, like, this is my most clean, concise thoughts from now, and my best recollection of then. That’s really what that cover’s about.” You could also see the cover in live form during Sunday night’s Drake VMA performance , during which he briefly recreated the profile-view image: Drake MTV VMA Performance 2013

Miley Cyrus VMA Performance: Was It Racist?

Forget the accusations of date rape support and the general consensus that Miley Cyrus acted out of desperation to prove her edginess at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night. And ask yourself this question instead: Was her performance racist? Many critics have pointed to Miley’s race “problem” – she has said she’s not a ” white ratchet girl ,” she’s been forced to defend her race online – and how it was evident during the raunchy routine. Consider her slapping of voluptuous black women’s behinds, her constant reliance on Twerking , a dance move considered by many to be representative of African-American culture. Jon Caramanica of The New York Times wrote after the VMAs that “this was a banner year for clumsy white appropriation of black culture.” He also slammed “the shambolic, trickster-esque performance by Ms. Cyrus, to whom no one has apparently said ‘no’ for the last six months or so.” Elsewhere, Vulture ‘s Jody Rosen referred to this as “a minstrel show routine” and says pointedly that Miley’s “act tipped over into what we may as well just call racism,” explaining: “Cyrus is annexing working-class black ‘ratchet’ culture, the potent sexual symbolism of black female bodies, to the cause of her reinvention.” Rosen adds that Cyrus is questionably attempting a “transformation from squeaky-clean Disney-pop poster girl to grown-up hipster-provocateur.” Strong, interesting words, all of them. Beetle Juice Knocked Jake Gyllenhaal Out of the Day

So the freak from Howard Stern Beetle Juice was getting interviewed by TMZ paparazzi where he apparently said he knocked Jake Gyllenhaal out….I guess on set of Bubble Boy ….I can’t be too sure because I don’t understand anything that he’s saying, other than that Jake Gyllenhaal is a prick…or gay….and I have to agree… Some of you don’t know this, but Gyllenhaal is the only celebrity I almost had a physical altercation with when he was filming in Montreal Canada. He was dancing like a princesss in a restaurant with some groupies….and I walked up to him and asked if he killed Heath Ledger or something to that effect…I was drunk…and dude went nuts, got in my face, security pulled me away before it was actually a fight and he ended up pushing the girl I was with….aggressively…like a mental case…. It was a story that got on all the mainstream media. His legal team and the team at Disney came at me to change my story on the site….to which I said “I’ll just post the video instead”…and that was the end of the Jake Gyllenhaal story…. But after that experience, I agree that he’s a prick, likely gay, craves attention like a girl..while dancing like a girl, and is probably 140 lbs and as intimidating as a girl….and I know there’s no doubt that Beetle Juice could knock him out…probably with one bitch slap….and that’s the end of this post.

Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett: It’s Not Over!

Man. For a few days there, everything was fine between Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett. They posed on a tabloid cover , they claimed they were expecting another child, they put to rest rumors of a divorce. But something went terribly wrong in the past week, forcing Kendra to tell her man, in loud, upper case letters: IT’S OVER! What happened? It’s difficult to say. But in one of the funnier quotes in recent memory, Kendra – the woman who concocted a story about a miscarriage and who misleads the public every chance she can profit from it – apparently said she is “tired of pretending.” Next, Michael Lohan will say he’s tired of caring more about publicity than parenthood.

RIAA denies DRM is "dead" quote

Yesterday, TF posted that according to an interview in SCMagazine , RIAA chief spokesperson Jonathan Lamy had declared the death of DRM ( digital rights management ) , putting an end to years of backing from the trade group. When asked about his thoughts on the rights management scheme, Lamy apparently said: “DRM is dead, isn’t it?” Also looking to the future, Lamy said it was “clear” that DRM was not part of the picture. According to an email sent to BetaNews however, the quote is “blatantly inaccurate.” He did add however, that DRM is slowly but surely moving towards death in the music world, but remains important in the TV and movie world
