My name is Lizzy, I’m 18 years old and a proud belieber from the Netherlands. It was summer 2012 and the radio was on. I wasn’t listening, but then I heard “Justin Bieber.” My heart was beating so fast, but I didn’t know why they were talking about a concert. A few minutes later they said: “Justin Bieber is coming to the Netherlands on April 13 th 2013. You can buy your ticket on July 5th.” I thought I was dreaming, but I started to cry and shake. I called some people to tell about it. I was so nervous because I thought, “What if I’m too late for tickets?” But Gelredome (the area) is really big and there were something like 35,000 tickets on sale. Everything was alright and I had tickets. I was so damn happy. Some days later, I was looking on the site and I saw Meet & Greet tickets. I clicked on it, but they were sold out. Why didn’t I know about it? A few days later I was looking at a website from Belgium. I saw “M&G tickets for April 10 th 2013.” I clicked on it and they weren’t sold out yet. I was running to my mom and I said: “I need to buy this.” My mom asked me how much and I said: €425. She said. “No that’s too expensive,” but I told her I would pay her back. I asked my sister and she wanted it too. My mom finally accepted it and we bought them. I ran to my room and started to cry. One of my friends called me and she was so happy for me. I had to wait for 279 days, but that went by so fast. I couldn’t sleep the night before the big day because I was so nervous. Me and my sister went to Belgium with someone I met on Twitter. Before the meet and greet, Dan Kanter walked in. I said, “Can I get a hug?” and he said, “Of course!” Then I took my phone and took a picture with him. I said, “Thank you, I love you so much.” He was so sweet and little. We also heard the crowd, the area was above us. The meet and greets started and I sprayed Girlfriend everywhere. I saw Justin between the curtains. I started to cry. I walked to Justin in the room and it was so dark. I couldn’t see him good. There were no lights and it was surrounded with black curtains. He said, “Hi sweetheart.” OMG, he was so perfect, so sweet, so little and so cute. I was standing next to him, my heart was beating so fast and they took a picture. I said “I love you so much!” and he smiled. The security pushed me away. I walked out and I broke down in tears. I never cried like this before. Everyone was looking at me. I saw my sister standing in the row. She started to cry too because of me. I saw the girl who met him before me and we cried together. We hugged each other a lot. Then we started to walk in the area and I couldn’t stop crying. Everyone was staring at me. I almost fell down the stairs cause I was shaking. I was sitting at the second row. My sister came over to me and we hugged each other, we couldn’t stop crying. The concert was perfect and I took a lot of pictures and video’s. Please NEVER give up on your dreams. I never thought this would happen to me and I’ll never forget the day and the 10 seconds I met Justin. If you believe, you’ll meet him too. Thank you all so much for reading my story. -@BieberbucksNL Link: My name is Lizzy, I’m 18 years old and a proud belieber…
This is truly a blessing. A woman survived 17 days under the rubble of a Bangladesh factory building where over 1,000 people were killed . Via NY Daily News reports : A seamstress buried in the wreckage of a collapsed garment factory building for 17 days was rescued Friday, a miraculous moment set against a scene of unimaginable horror, where the death toll shot past 1,000. Reshma survived, in remarkably good shape, by eating dried food that was in her area and drinking spare amounts of water with her. She was discovered on the second floor of the eight-story Rana Plaza building, where crews have been focused on recovering bodies, not rescuing survivors, for much of the past two weeks. “I heard voices of the rescue workers for the past several days. I kept hitting the wreckage with sticks and rods just to attract their attention,” she told the private Somoy TV from her hospital bed as doctors and nurses milled about, giving her saline and checking her condition. “No one heard me. It was so bad for me. I never dreamed I’d see the daylight again,” she said. “There was some dried food around me. I ate the dried food for 15 days. The last two days I had nothing but water. I used to drink only a limited quantity of water to save it. I had some bottles of water around me,” she said. Once Reshma finally got their attention, the crews ordered the cranes and bulldozers to immediately stop work and used handsaws and welding and drilling equipment to cut through the iron rod and debris still trapping her. They gave her water, oxygen and saline as they worked to free her. When Reshma was freed after 40 minutes, the crowd erupted in wild cheers. She was rushed to a military hospital in an ambulance, but her rescuers said she was in shockingly good condition, despite her ordeal. Abdur Razzak, a warrant officer with the military’s engineering department who first spotted her in the wreckage, said she could even walk. “She was fine, no injuries. She was just trapped. The space was wide,” said Lt. Col. Moyeen, an army official at the scene. Reshma told her rescuers there were no more survivors in her area. Workers began tearing through the nearby rubble anyway, hoping to find another person alive. “Reshma told me there were three others with her. They died. She did not see anybody else alive there,” said Maj. Gen. Chowdhury Hasan Suhrawardy, the head of the local military units. “We will continue our search until a survivor or a dead body is there.” The woman survived for more than two weeks in temperatures that touched the mid 90s (mid 30s Celsius). She scrounged for whatever food she could find, Suhrawardy said. Then, when the workers with bulldozers and cranes got close to the area where she was trapped, she took a still pipe and began banging it to attract attention, Razzak said. The workers ran into the dark rubble, eventually getting flashlights, to free her, he said. Reshma’s mother and her sister, Asma, rushed to the hospital to meet her. Hundreds of people who had been engaged in the grim job of removing decomposing bodies from the site raised their hands together in prayer for her survival. “Allah, you are the greatest, you can do anything. Please allow us all to rescue the survivor just found,” said a man on a loudspeaker leading the supplicants. “We seek apology for our sins. Please pardon us, pardon the person found alive.” Workers at the site had been clearing the rubble since the collapse April 24. More than 2,500 people were rescued in the immediate aftermath of the disaster. However, no survivors had been found in the wreckage since April 28, when Shahin Akter was found amid the wreckage. As workers tried to free her, a fire broke out and she died of smoke inhalation. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, called Reshma in the hospital, and the rescued woman began crying on the phone, Suhrawardy said. She told Hasina: “I am fine, please pray for me,” he said. It’s truly a miracle Reshma survived, we pray that she is able to overcome the trauma from her experience. The government has been under extreme criticism over the conditions of their garment industry. With two major disasters striking this month, clearly some changes need to be made. Our prayers are with those affected by this terrible disaster. Hit the flip for a pretty disturbing image from the collapse. SkyNews
The Till family wants Lil’ Wayne’s head on a platter. Till Family Doesn’t Accept Lil’ Wayne’s Apology According to TMZ Lil Wayne’s “apology” to the family of civil rights icon Emmett Till was NOT REALLY AN APOLOGY … in fact, it fell way short … a rep for the Till family tells TMZ. Earlier today, Wayne fired off a letter to the Tills … to “acknowledge” the hurt he caused the family when he compared Emmett’s violent death with the violent way he has sex with women. Nowhere in the letter did Wayne say he was sorry for what he did. Now, Airickca Gordon-Taylor — Executive Director, Mamie Till Mobley Memorial Foundation and Till Family Representative — tells TMZ the family does not view the letter as a formal apology. “While it’s commendable that he has vowed to respect the legacy of Emmett Till and his memory to ‘not use or reference Emmett Till or the Till family in his music,’ this statement falls short of an apology, as none is mentioned.” We’re reaching out to Lil Wayne for comment — stay tuned. Maybe the Till family has a point. Yes he issued a statement, but he did not say sorry one time. Do you think Lil’ Wayne’s apology was sincere? Getty Continue reading →
Motor city is now murder city! Detroit Most Dangerous City In The U.S. According to CBS Detroit It’s a clean sweep for Detroit, but nothing to be proud of, as the city takes the top three spots on a list of the most dangerous neighborhoods in America. The study by NeighborhoodScout.com analyzed FBI statistics from 17,000 local law enforcement agencies to pinpoint neighborhoods across the country with the highest predicted rates of violent crimes per 1,000 residents. Researchers drilled down deep into cities and towns to find specific census tract areas that had the highest rates of homicide, forcible rape, armed robbery and aggravated assault. According to the study, the area east of the Barton-McFarland community in zip code 48204 is the most dangerous neighborhood in America. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this west side community over the course of a year are one in seven. According to NeighborhoodScout, one of the more devastating events in this neighborhood over the past year was the closure of the public library — where children took remedial reading and math classes and adults used public computers to apply for jobs. Sharing similar statistics is the Islandview community in the 48207 zip code on the city’s east side, which ranks as the second most dangerous neighborhood on the list. It’s in this neighborhood where, according to the study, housing costs have gone down so dramatically that a 3,300 square-foot property sold for just $800 — down from $70,000 in 2002. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this community over the course of a year are one in seven. Coming in as the third most dangerous neighborhood in the country is the area between Ravendale and LaSalle College Park in zip codes 48213 and 48205. The study said the chances of becoming a victim of violent crime in this east side neighborhood are one in eight. About 40 percent of the households here have four or more cars — more cars per household than in 96 percent of the country, according to NeighborhoodScout. The vacancy rate in this neighborhood is also about 30 percent. Detroit is to America what crack was for the black community! Shutterstock Continue reading →
Ish is real in Chicago ! According to DNAInfoChicago A man died after being shot Monday morning in an area of Back of the Yards that neighbors described as quiet. The 22-year-old man was in the 1700 block of West 44th Street about 4:50 a.m. when he was shot, said officer Michael Sullivan, a Chicago Police spokesman. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim said. He later died of his injuries, said a spokeswoman with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. The morgue was not releasing the man’s identity pending notification his family. No one was in custody for the shooting, Sullivan said. Neighbors Gibron Lenero and Reyna Lenero said they woke up about 4:30 a.m. and heard arguing outside. Soon after, Reyna Lenero heard shots, she said. The couple, who moved to the area four months ago, said it’s a quiet residential street that’s well patrolled by police, and nothing like this has happened since they’ve been here. “It’s just families,” Gibron Lenero said. Reyna Lenero said she’s “a little bit” scared because the couple has two young daughters. “This was just a couple meters from our house,” Gibron Lenero said. Another local resident, Jose Gemenez, said he’s lived in different houses on the same street in this neighborhood for more than 30 years. He didn’t hear anything and was shocked when he saw cop cars and crime scene tape while getting his kids ready for school. “I’m kind of surprised because there’s a lot of police around here,” Gemenez said. “We don’t see the violence here usually.” He said the area was worse years ago, but things seemed to be getting better. “It’s not in this area, not on this side of the park,” Gemenez said. Witnesses to the infamous Rick Ross drive-by in South Florida say another car pulled up beside his Rolls Royce and numerous gunshots were fired, police say. The rapper then crashed into a nearby building, unharmed. A Fort Lauderdale police report released Thursday says witnesses saw three or four people inside an older model, burgundy or maroon BMW before shots rang out. He was with his girlfriend, fashion designer Shateria L. Moragne-el, on January 28. The bullets from the Rick Ross shooting struck nearby businesses. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attempted murder. Witnesses tell police that the car’s occupants fired out of their passenger-side window at Rick Ross, and that police have recovered 18 bullet casings . “The witnesses ducked for cover in their vehicle due to the rapid gunfire, but were still able to see the vehicle flee eastbound,” the report says. The report also says that Ross was armed with a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun located in his waistband, though he did not draw the weapon. Ross did have a (suspended) concealed weapon permit for it. Police are reviewing video from 20 surveillance cameras in the area for clues as to who tried to off the rapper . The footage has not been made public. In any event, it doesn’t look like he staged it, as 50 Cent posited .
You can own the Notorious B.I.G.’s old apartment if you want! And if you have more than $700K. Gentrification is no joke. The famous one-room shack he used to rap about is a recently-renovated “three-bed plus den / office condo” complete with a formal dining room no less. Notorious’ native Bed-Stuy ‘hood is not quite the area he once knew, with the Pratt Institute, BAM, the Brooklyn Flea and the Barclays Center nearby. If anything, given the area’s rapid real estate boom, it’s surprising the $725K list price isn’t higher still. Many condos there fetch seven figures easily. Where Brooklyn at? The center of hip these days .
