She’s off the small screen, but might Oprah Winfrey play a role in big screen affairs next year? Motion Picture Academy sources tell The Chicago Sun-Times that the former talk show host is in contention to host the 2012 Academy Awards. The event will be broadcast on ABC, which has a close relationship with Oprah, and a deal could even be finagled that would give OWN exclusive rights to some kind of post-Oscars telecast. Such a deal would be a boon to the struggling network and might be the only reason Oprah would consider the gig. No matter what direction the Oscars choose, it’s a lock the next host will be more entertaining than the last two . Do you think Oprah should host the show?
Maria Shriver waited a long time to divorce Arnold Schwarzenegger , but now that she has, she’s not waiting for it to become final to move on. She’s purchased some swanky new digs. The Sperminator’s estranged wife is buying a $10 million home in Brentwood, a posh area of L.A. The home is near the one she shared with Arnold. The couple is determined to keep their divorce amicable, with both Arnold and Maria getting joint custody of their two minor children, both teens. The proximity of the two homes will make shared custody easier. Maria’s purchase has not been finalized yet but reports say it will close soon. Jackie Rozo, the 27-year-old daughter of Arnold Schwarzengger’s secret baby mama Mildred “Patty” Baena, is breaking her silence about the love child scandal. Rozo’s reason for speaking out? To decry how RACIST everyone is! The ONLY reason people care about Patty Baena , she claims, is because Arnold was in an interracial affair. We can think of a handful of other reasons … “It’s just a big thing because she’s Hispanic, and he’s a celebrity,” Rozo says. And because he’s been married to Maria Shriver for the past 25 years. And employed Baena for the past 20 years. And kept this secret the past 14 years. And has four legitimate kids. And was the GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA. Either way, it’s still all news to her. Like the guy who thought he was the dad , Jackie claims she had “no idea” that her half-brother was fathered by Arnold until the news broke last week. But now, Jackie’s coming to her mom’s defense – adding, “She’s like a superwoman pretty much” … “My mother does not need to justify herself.” Perhaps … but neither do people for being flat-out amazed by it. Nor does it make one racist to expect better from an elected official. Just saying.
Now that he’s no longer governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed just how much he loved his job. According to TMZ , holding that job for 8 years seriously hurt Arnold’s pockets. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s time as the governor of California didn’t just leave the state in financial turmoil — it cost Arnie a huge chunk of change too! The Austrian Formerly Known as Governator told a newspaper in his homeland that his stint in Sacramento cost him nearly $200 million as a result of lost revenue from movies and endorsements. Arnold went on to say that it was all worth it in the end … not sure Californians would agree. Must be nice to be able to say “eff a paycheck” like that. Because we’re pretty sure he had an out four years ago.
