Source: Boston Globe / Getty Jasiel Correia II Arrested On Federal Extortion Charges It seems like the mayor of Massachusetts thought life was a drama series and he could get away with extorting desperate weed vendors in the area, but instead, he’s been popped on extortion charges. According to USA Today , Jasiel Correia II , 27, was arrested Friday on federal extortion charges for allegedly operating a scheme to help marijuana vendors get approval to operate in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes. Allegedly Correia agreed to sign non-opposition letters in return for significant six-figure payments from four marijuana vendors looking to open businesses in the city. The mayor also is accused of extorting $3,900 in cash and a “Batman” Rolex watch from a property owner in exchange for activating the water supply to his building. Federal prosecutors also Correia demanded his chief of staff give him half of her $78,700 salary in return for appointing her and allowing her to keep her city job. Four others, including the former chief of staff, Genoveva Andrade, also were charged with federal crimes. Correia appeared in Boston federal court Friday afternoon and pleaded not guilty. “I’m not guilty of these charges. I’ve done nothing but good for the great city of Fall River, me and my staff, and my team. I’m going to continue to do great things for our citizens,” he told reporters afterward, standing next to his attorney outside the courthouse.

Azriel Clary and Joycelyn Savage are working some angles in the industry to secure book deals and other avenues so that Kelly can hire the services of the attorney that got Michael Jackson off from facing child molestation charges. TMZ reports : Sources close to Kelly’s girlfriends/alleged sex slaves tell TMZ … they’re joining forces to help Kelly scrounge up the funds to hire the attorney who got Michael Jackson acquitted in his child molestation trial — Tom Mesereau. We’re told the ladies have a couple potential projects in the works that could land them a big payday — including a book deal — and their plan is to put that money toward the Mesereau fund … along with Kelly’s general defense fund. Our sources say Joycelyn and Azriel have just hired reps who are reaching out to media outlets to score some paid interviews. None are scheduled yet … but we’re told there’s some interest. The outlet adds that the goals of Clary and Savage could be a longshot as they’re having some difficulty in acquiring a talent manager that could get them in some rooms to pitch their ideas. And as you also very likely know by now, Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted by a federal grand jury this week on 12 counts of financial fraud. The USA Network reality stars are accusing of forging bank documents… lying about their massive income… and screwing over their fellow American citizens by failing to pay their taxes. The lead Chrisley Knows Best cast members turned themselves into authorities in Georgia on Wednesday and then pleaded not guilty later that afternoon in court. They could be sentenced to 30 years in prison. In the wake of this scandal, lawyers for Todd and Julie have proclaimed their client’s innocence. They’ve alleged that a bitter ex-employee has actually set the couple up, issued fake documents on their behalf and forged Todd’s signature in the process. One of the questions surrounding this controversy over the past few days has been the following: Did Lindsie Chrisley play any role in her parents’ downfall? Did she actually tip off the police and/or the FBI to her dad’s allegedly illegal behavior? No , a lawyer for Lindsie now says. “Lindsie would like to thank all of her supporters,” this attorney said yesterday in a statement on behalf of Lindsie, who quit her family’s reality show in 2017. Continued this representative: “The circumstances Todd and Julie find themselves in, is quite unfortunate. It was reported that Lindsie was the source of the information that led to her father’s arrest. That is untrue, she was not the source of this information.” He then dropped this bombshell: “Lindsie has been a constant target of lies, harassment and threats from her family and as a result, has been distancing herself from the Chrisley family since 2017.” Wait, what? Back it up here, lawyer dude? Lindsie belives her family has been harassing her and threatening her? Yes, and this harassment and this threat are both allegedly centered on two things: Todd’s reportedly involved in the aforementioned tax evasion scheme. A Lindsie Chrisley sex tape. Last month, however, Todd’s estranged daughter filed a police report in Georgia alleging that her brother, Chase, and her dad were trying to extort her over a sex tape that she made — and that Chase supposedly purchased. Lindsie claims that Todd and Chase threatened to release the lewd footage … unless Lindsie agreed to lie about a certain “incident.” And, yes, sources say this “incident” was related to the tax issues Todd and Julie are currently facing. “Lindsie is currently processing the events that have unfolded,” concludes her lawyer’s statement. “We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement and pray for a just resolution. We will have more to say when the opportunity presents itself.” Lindsie has remained in the news of late for co-hosting a podcast with Teen Mom star Kailyn Lowry. Todd Chrisley and his wife are ready to face the legal music. But will it result in them being entirely played off the celebrity stage? That’s the oddly-phrased question, folks. As previously detailed, Todd and Julie Chrisley were indicted yesterday on 12 counts of tax evasion and financial fraud, foremost among them: Wire fraud… conspiracy to commit bank fraud … and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Yikes , huh? The couple has been at the forefront of Chrisley Knows Best for seven seasons on USA Network. The series chronicles the rich and spoiled lives of Todd, Julie and their three children, all of whom are from Atlanta but now reside in Nashville. According to Radar Online, executives have chosen NOT to renew the contracts of these family members in the wake of this arrest, effectively canceling the series. But Todd and Julie obviously have far more important concerns at the moment. The reality stars have turned themselves into authorities, CNN confirms, and are currently in custody in Georgia. The couple surrendered early Wednesday morning, a spokesman for the attorney’s office tells CNN and TMZ, and are scheduled to attend a bond hearing later this afternoon. As for other pertinent details from this troubling case? The Chrisleys were hit with the multi-count indictment on Tuesday, alleging years of tax evasion, bank fraud, wire fraud and conspiracy between 2007 and 2012. The federal goverment claims the stars ran a scheme in which they swindled banks out of millions of dollars in loans by providing phony information, while also effing over the public in genderal by dodging federal taxes on the money they earned. Their accountant was indicted as well. If convicted on all counts, Todd and Julie could face 30 years in prison. “Todd and Julie Chrisley are charged not only with defrauding a number of banks by fraudulently obtaining millions of dollars in loans, but also with allegedly cheating taxpayers by actively evading paying federal taxes on the money they earned,” said U.S. Attorney Byung J. Pak, adding: “Celebrities face the same justice that everyone does. These are serious federal charges and they will have their day in court.” But Todd, who has supposedly sold his mansion out of desperation , sounds confident a convinction will never take place. Before the indictment was issued on Tuesday, he denied the allegations in a lenghty post on Instagram, implying the charges are based on evidence presented to investigators by a disgruntled former employee. Wrote Chrisley in his open letter: “I’ve never talked about this publicly before, but there’s been a cloud hanging over Julie and me and our entire family for the past seven years. It all started back in 2012, when we discovered that a trusted employee of ours had been stealing from us big time.” He went on to claim this was an act of revenge, explaining that this employee created “phony documents,” forged his signature and issuing threats to other employees related to the show if anything got out about his doings. Sounds like quite the vengeful and thought-out act, huh? If you believe it. “We even discovered that he illegally bugged our house,” Chrisley says. “I’m telling you all this because we have nothing to hide and have done nothing to be ashamed of. Not only do we know we’ve done nothing to be ashamed of. “Not only do we know we’ve done nothing wrong, but we’ve got a ton of hard evidence and a bunch of corroborating witnesses that prove it.” Todd concluded the post by asking for everyone’s prayers for he and his family. “We want to express our gratitude to everyone who helped place us where we are today in our lives. Kelly built over decades is continuing to avalanche down on him. According to TMZ , Robert is being charged with engaging in prostitution with someone under 18, and hiring/offering/agreeing to hire someone for sexual contact for paying a girl between the ages of 16 and 17 for sexual contact in his hotel room back on July 11, 2001. The Minnesota prosecutor, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman, says that the woman approached police on January 11, 2019 to filed a report. Just three days after Cook County prosecutor Kim Foxx made a public plea for other accusers to come forward. Word is that the then-teen asked Kelly for an autograph and he then paid her $200 to dance naked for him. They did not have sexual intercourse, but there was sexual contact. Robert is facing five years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

Kelly’s attorney spoke to TMZ , telling the site the singer fears retaliation from fellow inmates who know he’s accused of having sex with underage girls. There are apparently no R.Kelly fans in jail. The musician has opted for solitary confinement, feeling safer by himself despite having limited phone privileges and no access to TV or the internet. But, according to his attorney, Kelly needs support since he can’t read or write, making tasks like figuring out what’s on the commissary list virtually impossible. Earlier this week, Kelly pled not guilty to all charges. Though his attorney argued that he was not a flight risk and had appeared at all of his court appointments on time, a judge denied bond calling the case “extraordinarily serious.” If convicted, Kelly would face the maximum of 195 years in prison. Prosecutors believe that there were many more girls, beyond the initially cited 12, who were victim to Kelly’s abuse. This decades-long history of abuse was documented through witness and survivor testimony in the dream hampton produced documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” which aired on Lifetime this past January. Source: gerenme / Getty 6-Year-Old Girl Dies During Daddy-Daughter Golf Day A little girl is dead after a daddy-daughter golf day went awry. The 6-year-old girl, identified as Aria Hill, reportedly accompanied her father to the Sleepy Ridge Golf Course and was sitting in a golf cart when her father hit a ball that struck her. From KCTV : Police say the ball struck the girl in the back of the head on Monday morning, while the father and daughter were golfing at Sleepy Ridge Golf Course in Orem. The ball collided with the base of her neck. Lt. Trent Colledge with the Orem Police Department says she was flown to a hospital in Salt Lake City in critical condition. She died from her injuries later that evening. According to the site, a GoFundMe page was created to help the Utah family out following Aria’s tragic death. So far, a little over $13,000 has been raised. “We are so grateful for all the love, support, and prayers made in our behalf during this difficult time,” a statement from the mother reads on the page. “We’ve truly felt comforted. Aria was the sassiest girl in the world. She was silly, spunky, creative, unique, and so so full of love for everyone she came in contact with. There is a huge hole in our hearts that she has taken with her back to Heaven…Fly high my little angel” May Aria rest in peace.
