Son Of Zimbabwe’s First Lady Receives No Jail Time For Killing Man With Car It’s no secret that the rich and powerful get away with murder… Or in this case, manslaughter. According to NY Daily News The eldest son of Zimbabwe’s First Lady has been fined $800 after being convicted of manslaughter. Russell Goreraza, the stepson of long-time leader Robert Mugabe, knocked down and killed a man in Harare, the country’s capital, reports the BBC . The judge said he had decided against jailing the 31-year-old — and taking away his license — because of the defendant’s remorse. Goreraza was also a first-time offender. “I regret and want to apologise for the incident,” he said in court. The BBC claims the lenient sentence has shocked many in Zimbabwe. Two-year prison sentences have been handed down in similar cases. The accident happened in February. SMH. Do you think this is going to come back to haunt his parents? American Hustle Images: First Look at Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale!

Oh man, the 70s were not an attractive time when it comes to clothing choices. If there was any doubt of that, check out these new images from the upcoming  American Hustle. When not even Bradley Cooper can pull something off, you know it was a bad idea. I imagine an entire generation of men look back at their ill-advised perms (although we’ve been assured that Cooper’s curls are not a perm) and just shake their heads. However, with the team assembled for the upcoming  American Hustle – Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence, and Jeremy Renner, with director David O’Russell – we can be pretty certain that the story will overpower any and all bad hair. Bale, in another “not Batman” role (you can see his other upcoming work with this  Out of the Furnace trailer ), plays a con-man who garners the attention of FBI agent Bradley Cooper. Following the true story of the Abscam scandal, in which five Congressmen and a U.S. Senator ended up being convicted of corruption,  American Hustle is not lacking in the drama department. Mother Who Had Sex With Underage Boy Could Be Extradited According to Mail Online A 47-year-old married mother who fled to Canada to avoid a 30 year jail sentence for having sex with a teenager faces being kicked out of the country. Denise Harvey, of Florida, was stripped off her refugee status by Canada’s Federal Court and could be extradited back to the US to serve her sentence. Harvey has been told she had a final chance to argue that she should be allowed to stay. Harvey fled from her home in Florida in 2010 after being convicted of having sex with a 16 year old who was friends with her teenage son. She was sentenced to 30 years but while out on bail fled to Canada with her husband and family. She was granted refugee status after saying she faced ‘cruel and unusual punishment’ from the lengthy prison sentence. Canadian authorities agreed to allow her to stay ruling her actions would not constitute a crime if she had carried them out in Canada. In Canada, the age of consent is 16 unless the older person is in a position of authority over the younger person. The decision was appealed to the Federal Court of Canada who have now stripped Harvey of the refugee status. Prosecutors in Florida are hopeful that Harvey will soon return to serve her sentence. ‘We’ve been actively pursuing her but of course we were dead-ended by the Canadian government who granted her refugee status,’ said Nikki Robinson, assistant state attorney who was a prosecutor of the original case. ‘I’m hoping we’ll see her back. Nancy Grace doesn’t hold back. The news pundit and Dancing With the Stars competitor was not among the many people lauding the Amanda Knox verdict yesterday. Grace’s thoughts on Knox’s conviction (in the 2007 slaying of Meredith Kercher) being overturned? “I think that it was a miscarriage of justice,” she said. Nancy Grace does not hold back when it comes to her favorite cash cows . “I only hope Ms. Knox makes something of her life because she’s certainly been given a second chance. Very few people are given the chance she has been given.” Knox, a University of Washington student who had been studying in Perugia, Italy, faced a sentence of 26 years in prison after being convicted of murder in 2009. Yesterday, an appeals court overturned the 24-year-old’s conviction. Grace did not directly link the Amanda Knox trial to that of another infamous case in which a young woman, Casey Anthony, was controversially cleared of murder. She didn’t have to. Grace famously said “the devil is dancing tonight” upon the release of Anthony, who she ripped frequently and derisively referred to as “Tot Mom.” Amanda Knox Verdict There are some parallels between the women, but unlike the Casey Anthony case, wasn’t Knox cleared, at least in part, because of an independent review of DNA evidence? Her accusations against Mel Gibson – physical violence, coupled with racist and sexist tirades – are absolutely sickening. But is Oksana Grigorieva telling the truth? That’s what law enforcement officials wonder, having “serious concerns” over Oksana’s credibility in connection with her domestic violence claim against Gibson. We’ve spent plenty of time detailing her accusations against Mel, including his viciously profane, racist tirade . But the counter-argument is she’s lying for money. Moreover, sources are saying that Mel Gibson has emails and other evidence that Oksana “tried to extract money from Mel in return for the [explosive] tapes.” Oksana Grigorieva apparently recorded several explosive arguments with the actor, with whom she split in January and has an eight-month-old daughter, Lucia. BITTER BATTLE : Who’s telling the truth, Mel or Oksana? Investigators are concerned that Oksana had contact with lawyers and judges while she negotiated a visitation agreement with Mel but never once contacted police. Oksana was represented by lawyer Eric George, the son of California Supreme Court Justice Ronald George, to handle the visitation case surrounding Mel and Lucia.

What’s a parent for if he can’t impart his life’s wisdom and comfort his daughter in her time of need? Enter Michael Lohan, perennial Father of the Year candidate. Mike, who spent three years in prison after being convicted of insider trading, has a little advice for Lindsay Lohan, who must report to jail on July 20 for 90 days. “It’s not going to be a good experience for her. Right now, she should be working on rectifying the situation and getting better,” worried Michael tells Us Weekly . “It’s just a horrible experience. Twenty-three hours a day, she’ll be locked up. I’m going to get her out of that cell as much as I can. And Kate will be there, and we’ll work to get her out of that cell as much as possible.” Kate is Kate Major , his fiancee, with whom he dined at New York’s STK restaurant. Kate worked as Linds’ assistant and dated Jon Gosselin last year. Gross. SO HELPFUL : Michael is always looking out for attention Lindsay . Michael says Lindsay is currently refusing to speak to him “because she knows I still want to throw her in [rehab]. I’ve been trying to tell her how much I love her, that I’m behind her, that when she’s ready, I’m ready to help her.” He adds, “If she would just realize that what she’s taking is toxic….
