According to Racine Police , officers attempted to make contact with West who was on a bike but he fled. Following a short foot pursuit, the officer observed West was armed. 18-year-old #TyreseWest was the man shot and killed early Saturday morning by Mt. Pleasant police. Eric Giese, a 12-year veteran of the village’s Police Department. Giese has been a sergeant for a year and a half. He was placed on administrative leave immediately following the incident. On Thursday night, hundreds of people gathered at the corner of Racine and 20th streets to remember Tyrese . Community advocate Tory Lowe gave an emotional speech to the crowd, saying: “We want justice for Tyrese. We want answers, and the only way we’re going to get the answers is if we demand the answers. Tyrese was stopped for riding a bike,” Lowe said. “And he ended up with two shots in his head. How do we know that he got two shots in his head? Because the body was released to the family. This wasn’t told to us. We saw it.” Racine Police is still investigating the case. SMH

According to the Courier-Journal , the city has decided to close four of the city’s public swimming pools including the only pool on the city’s West End aka “the Black side of town”. Not only does that ruin some of the summer fun for the kids, but it also puts them at SERIOUS risk in the future… According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 10 people die every day from accidental drowning. If you are a black child, you are 5.5 times more likely to drown than white children. The disparity is greatest among kids ages 11-12. All of this because Lousiville is facing budget cuts and the first thing to go when politicians decide to save money are programs that help minorities and poor people. ‘Merica. SMFH.
Source: Goads Agency / Getty Families Demand That Chicago PD Investigate Dozens Of Strangled Women Chicago police are under fire from the families of over 50 woman, mostly Black, who want to know exactly who killed their loved ones. According to CBS Chicago , between 2001 and 2019 there have been 51 bodies of strangled women found in the streets of Chicago, many of them on the west side and south side. Many in the community fear a serial killer after missing person cases like those of Kierra Coles and Chaunti Bryla. The Dreamcatcher Foundation staffer Brenda Stewart had this to say via WGN-TV : “I feel that people don’t care about women that are on drugs, work the streets. I mean, they’re human,” she said. She said the unsolved cases of mostly black women is scary. “If a family member doesn’t push the issue, of course they’re not going to look. That’s just another dead body, let’s take her to the morgue, she works the streets,” she said. Facts. We already know the system doesn’t prioritize Black women, much less Black women sex workers and drug users. Sanitation worker Riccardo Holyfield’s cousin Reo Renee Holyfield was found in the garbage bin last year, he agrees with Stewart via CBS Chicago: “If something don’t get done, it’s going to get worse,” Riccardo said. “People keep dismissing us because of these women’s backgrounds.” Despite the fact that these families are 100% right: Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said right now there is just not enough information to say a serial killer or killers are responsible for strangling the women, but until arrests are made their families will continue pushing. Minnie Lindsey sued Rocko – whose real name is Rodney Hill – for negligence last month, accusing the U.O.E.N.O. rapper of abandoning a construction job on the property next door to hers – but not before causing some $15,000 in damages to her place. According to court papers obtained by BOSSIP, Lindsey said that Rocko bought the property next to hers in 2017 and started construction on it. However work stopped about a month later, and Lindsey noticed that her brick retaining wall was removed without her permission. Lindsey’s wall had been securing her property’s fence, and it has since caved in, court papers state. Without the fence, Lindsey’s home garden is eroding, Lindsey’s lawyer, Jenaye Peterson, told BOSSIP. Rocko acquired the previously abandoned property to try to flip it, but may have run out of money for the renovation, Peterson said, adding that she sent him a legal letter, and he responded, promising to fix the wall, but hasn’t. Monica’s son’s father hasn’t responded to the case, probably because Lindsey hasn’t managed to serve him yet. This isn’t the only legal battle that Rocko is fighting. We exclusively revealed that the state Attorney General’s Office sued Rocko on behalf of a woman named Tinashel Phillips over paternity and supporting her daughter. Rocko hasn’t responded in that case either.
Source: NurPhoto / Getty Florida Woman Stabs Herself Repeatedly Because Trump Is President Listen, normally we chide the state of Florida as a wasteland of society’s most deviant deplorables, but in this case, we KINDA get it. According to an article on The Smoking Gun , a woman from the Sunshine State stabbed herself in the stomach repeatedly with a kitchen knife. When police found her she was standing outside of her home, completely covered in blood. When asked what was wrong, the woman lifted her shirt to reveal “three stab wounds on [her] stomach that were still bleeding.” She then told the patrolman she had “stabbed herself because she does not want to live in Trump’s country.” Same, sis. Same. But we’re just not entirely sure that THIS is best way for that frustration to manifest itself. After evaluating the woman, a cop concluded that there was a “substantial likelihood” that she “will cause bodily harm to herself and/or others.” As a result, the officer appears to have recommended that the woman be involuntarily admitted to a mental health treatment facility (per the state’s Baker Act). The woman told police that this isn’t her first Baker Act rodeo. F**k Trump, but we hope she gets the help she needs because this ain’t it.

Some people truly abhor seeing men walk around a$$ed out with their pants sagging below their waist, but this is f***ing ridiculous. According to Shreveport Times , ever since ordinance 50-167 was passed into law in 2007, a law prohibiting sagging pants in public, there have been 726 arrests made. Of those 726, 699 of them are Black men in comparison to the 12 white men arrested. That’s right, 12. Additionally, 13 Black women were arrested for this crime in comparison to 1 white woman. This means that 98% of the people placed into the criminal justice system behind this law are Black, 96% are Black men. Tuesday, City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller proposed to abolish the law prohibiting the public wearing of pants below the waist, exposing the skin or undergarments. At least three national news outlets reported on the proposal in connection with the death of Anthony Childs that occurred during an officer-involved shooting. For those unaware, Anthony Childs was shot at eight times by a cop, SPD Officer Traveion Brooks, three of those shots hit him. A reported self-inflicted shot to the chest ultimately killed Childs. The officer was trying to stop Childs because his pants were sagging. This law is racist as HELL.

According to SACurrent , another person of color killed by a bloodlusty cop who’s down to squeeze first and ask questions last. 18-year-old Charles Roundtree was killed on October 17, 2018 when Officer Steve Casanova shot him in the chest in response to a criminal complaint. Maria Herrera and Esteban Preciado called the cops to report that a man named Davante Snowden had assaulted them. When Casanova arrived at the home to speak to Snowden, he encountered Charles Roundtree and a woman, Taylor Singleton. Without introducing himself as cop, Casanova opened the cracked front door and said “What’s up, man?” to which Snowden responded, “Who the f**k is this?!” At this point, Casanova, an unidentified officer, demands to see the men’s hands and fires two shots. SAPD had originally reported one of the shots fired had gone through Snowden’s buttocks and into Roundtree’s chest. In her account of the shooting, Singleton says the shot that went through Snowden had gone in to the wall toward the neighbor’s house, and Casanova had hit Roundtree in a separate shot. Roundtree’s family has filed suit against the SAPD stating the Snowden was unarmed as the DNA test on the alleged weapon came back negative. They also charge that officer Casanova did not attempt to administer help to Charles as he had a hole in his chest. Casanova is on admin duty but is still currently employed by the police department.
