Reality star Anna Benson is in jail in Marietta, Ga., for allegedly breaking into her estranged husband’s home and threatening him with a gun . It turns out this is not the ex-stripper’s first run-in with the law. In 1996, Anna Benson (then Anna Warren) lived in a rundown Tennessee apartment that was adorned with satanic graffiti and anti-police messages. At 19, Anna was reportedly the subject of a sweeping manhunt after an 18-year-old man named Michael Evans was murdered in that apartment. The newspaper reports that the troubled youngster fled town when she and then boyfriend Paul Dejongh were charged with the murder of Evans. She was captured five months later and charges against her were eventually dropped, the New York Daily News reports, citing court records. “She got away with murder ,” Evans’ father, Michael Evans Sr., said. The same year her charges were dropped, Anna reportedly met MLB pitcher Kris Benson at the strip club she worked at, and the two wed in 1999. Things worked out pretty well for a time, but in 2012, Kris filed for divorce and the two have been struggling through their messy split ever since. Their arguing reached a boiling point last week when Anna was arrested on after she allegedly modeled a bulletproof vest and burst into Kris’ home. According to a police, Anna smashed his computer with a metal baton and wore an ammo belt, which police later found when they searched her. They also found that she had a knife with her. Kris claims Anna made it known she had a gun and demanded he pay her $30,000. He appeased her by claiming he was going to get the money. At that point he escaped and called police. Kris currently has custody of the couple’s three children, and, according to reports, he also helped her raise her daughter from a previous marriage.

Showtime’s new cancer comedy The Big C might not have been a winner in the supporting characters department (I’m talking to you, Oliver Platt and homeless brother who eats garbage) but it scored a ratings coup last night, earning over 1.5 million viewers total. Said the premium cable network in a press release earlier today: ” The Big C delivered Showtime’s largest audience in 8 years for an original series debut (Previously: Odyssey 5 on 6/21/02 with 1.155MM).” Congrats, Laura Linney: You beat Odyssey 5 , whatever that was! Said Coco: “In three months I’ve gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly.”
Talk about getting it from both sides. First MTV is criticized for airing Jersey Shore and angering Italian Americans. Now the formerly music-centric cable network is taking…
