As spotted on High Snobiety the California based brand is being accused of lifting Nike’s designs from the Nike Air VaporMax and the Nike Air Max 270. So much so that the sportswear giant filed an infringement lawsuit earlier this month alleging “Skechers’ business strategy includes copying its competitors’ designs to gain market share.” Last week Skechers took out an advertisement in the Los Angeles Times addressing the claims stating the claims are baseless. “As you may have heard, Nike filed a lawsuit against Skechers in Los Angeles alleging that those shoes infringe certain Nike patents. Please note that the lawsuit has been filed just recently and merely contains Nike’s unproven allegations. In 2016 they asked a judge to remove several Skechers releases from retail stores that they felt copied their patents. According to sources close to Scott, he allegedly intends to fire back at the Kardashian clan for talking trash about him. As reported by the Mirror , an upcoming report by Heat World magazine states that Scott has tired of what he says is trash-talking from the sprawling Kardashian empire despite reports that he and Jenner agreed to an amicable split and were to remain friends. However, it appears that Scott’s relationship with Jenner may be intact but nothing of the sort is on the table for the Kardashians. “Travis knows that the Kardashians are trash-talking him and spreading rumours about him,” said a source to Heat World . The source added, “He’s ready to fight back big time. The way he is feeling at the moment, he’d like nothing more than to sell Kylie out. Everyone thinks he’s the one who’s been playing the field, while Kylie is some sort of angel.” The source concluded that Scott has dirt on Jenner and the entire family that will soon come to light. This comes as a video posted by Scott of he and Jenner’s daughter playing around seemed to also feature mom’s hand in the clip, with E! News reporting that the three spent time together as a family. Source: Estrop / Getty Governor Gavin Newsom made history by signing into law a bill that bans the production and sales of all new fur products in California. California is the first state in the nation to pass such a ban. Assembly Bill 44 went into effect on October 12 th . The bill applies to all new clothing, handbags, shoes, and any wearable item that is made with fur. Last year, San Francisco was the first major city to go fur free , so it’s no surprise to see California continuing to lead the charge. What does this mean? This means that consumers (and sellers) will receive a civil penalty if they are caught buying or selling these new products. Used fur, leather, shearling, cowhide and taxidermy are excluded from the bill. Furthermore, any fur products used by Native American tribes or for religious purposes are not included in the ban. Those that are caught breaking this new law will face a civil penalty. According to the Humane Society, the fur industry causes the suffering and death of more than 100 million animals worldwide and animals on fur factory farms are forced to live in cramped, wire bottom cages, deprived of the ability to engage in natural behaviors, before being killed by gassing or electrocution. Kitty Block, CEO and President of the Humane Society of United States remarked via press release, “The signing of AB 44 underscores the point that today’s consumers simply don’t want wild animals to suffer extreme pain and fear for sake of fashion.” Many high end brands including Versace, Michael Kors, and Gucci have vowed not to use real fur in their collections. This is not the only animal friendly law that Newsom signed into effect. Under another piece of legislation tigers and elephants won’t be allowed to be used in circuses. Another bill protects horses from being slaughtered while an additional piece of legislation now protects bobcats from being trapped and killed. Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA praised the moment calling it “historic” for animals “including those who have been whipped into performing in circuses or skinned alive for their fur or skin.” She also added, “PETA is proud to have worked with compassionate legislators to push these lifesaving laws forward.” Block added via statement, “More cities and states are expected to follow California’s lead, and the few brands and retailers that still sell fur will no doubt take a closer look at innovative alternatives that don’t involve animal cruelty.” Beauties, would you want your state to sign into law a fur ban? Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin / Getty Kevin Hart Speaks On Accident, Police Report Released The California Highway Patrol has released a detailed report about the crash that left actor Kevin Hart with serious back injuries. Jarred Black was driving the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda muscle car with Kevin and his girlfriend as passengers when the accident occurred. Police are reporting reckless driving by Hart’s friend was the cause of the accident, according to NBC. While turning, the driver “quickly accelerated,” which caused the right rear tire of the muscle car to break traction and resulted in a loss of control, the agency said. The car hit a tapered curb and a vinyl fence before going down the embankment and hitting a tree, according to the CHP report. Kevin Hart spoke out for the first time since the September car crash as the CHP report was released. In a released a statement through his attorney, mentioning Jared Black and his fianceé, Rebecca Broxterman, the two other individuals who were in the car when the accident occurred. In the statement obtained by EW. “I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery.” So far, neither Jared Black nor Rebecca Broxterman has addressed the crash publicly. In related news, Kevin Hart will not fully return back to work until early next year, according to his attorney.
It looks like Mac Miller’s death will not be in vein. Three men are being held to legal task for their role in providing the late rapper’s passing. Page Six is reporting that a grand jury indictment concerning Mac’s death has been unsealed. According to the website the documents state a trio of men allegedly distributed cocaine and oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl to Miller which lead to his untimely death in 2018. Cameron Pettit, 28, of West Hollywood, California; Stephen Walter, 46, of Los Angeles; and Ryan Reavis, 36, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona have all been hit with charges related to his overdose. So, in case you missed it, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro went and got himself into trouble again. That in itself isn’t a shock, since Ronnie has been on a serious downward spiral for a good long while now. But the story about what actually happened is pretty darn intense, even for him. Late Thursday night and into Friday morning, Ron and his girlfriend, Jen Harley, had some kind of issue, as they often do. They were at an Airbnb with their daughter, 18-month-old Ariana, when they started arguing. Things escalated, and Ron allegedly slapped and punched her. She ran outside and started screaming for help — there isn’t an “allegedly” for this part, because apparently several neighbors called 911 to alert authorities of that part of the situation. But instead of just letting her go, Ron ran after her with a knife in one hand and baby Ariana in the other. Jen wouldn’t listen, so he dropped the knife, went back inside with the kid, and locked the door. When police arrived, they asked him to open the door, and when he refused, they broke down the door so they could make sure Ariana was OK. She was, but Ronnie still refused to cooperate, so out came the taser. He was pretty incapacitated, on account of being tasered, so he was taken to a hospital before he was taken to jail and booked on kidnapping charges. What a ride, huh? A terrible, horrifying, just inexcusably awful ride. Jen told police that Ronnie went off after doing some cocaine, which might explain his behavior a bit, but it’s obviously not an excuse. Especially when he and Jen both have such a history of being violent with each other , including but certainly not limited to that time that she dragged him with her car . The whole incident honestly sounds terrifying, and it sounds like the worst bit of violence between them yet, which is really saying something. But was it so bad that they could both end up losing custody of Ariana? According to a lawyer who spoke with Hollywood Life, yeah. The lawyer, a family law attorney in California named David T. Pisarra, doesn’t personally know Ronnie and Jen, but it’s safe to say he’s familiar with situations like these. And as he explains it, Ronnie could be facing an additional charge of child endangerment for what went down, and if he does, then “the government may not allow” any kind of reconciliation between him and Jen. We all know that they have a history of getting into these kinds of fights, breaking up, then getting back together and giving interviews and how they’ve changed and grown and how everything is fine now. But according to this lawyer, “It’s conceivable that the Department of Child & Family Services might not let that happen.” “DCFS could threaten to take the baby from them if she gets back together with Ron because she’s putting the baby in a dangerous position.” “They could charge Jen with negligent parenting,” he adds. Additionally, “DCFS could require Jen to get a restraining order against Ronnie to protect herself and the baby from him.” But if Jen does decide to leave him for good, she has “a phenomenal case for sole custody,” which makes sense. “The prior abuse in their relationship is between them alone, but the fact that Ronnie was holding the baby while he’s chasing Jen now involves the kid,” the attorney says. Going forward, she could potentially get one of two different kinds of restraining orders — a criminal protective order or a civil domestic restraining disorder. Either would be easy for her to obtain, and if she got one, it’s extremely likely that she’d end up with sole custody of Ariana, with Ron getting some kind of supervised visitation. And that’s why you don’t (allegedly!) do a bunch of cocaine and then (also allegedly) chase your girlfriend with a knife while holding your baby.
Source: SOPA Images / Getty Bernie Sanders Has Heart Surgery To Circumvent Artery Blockage Bernie Sanders had to sit it on down after undergoing heart surgery after the sensation of what his aides describe as “chest discomfort” during a campaign event last night. According to Politico , Sanders was taken to the hospital where doctors diagnosed a blockage in one of his arteries and immediately took the Presidential hopeful into surgery to install two stents. “Sen. Sanders is conversing and in good spirits. He will be resting up over the next few days,” senior adviser Jeff Weaver said in a statement Wednesday. “We are canceling his events and appearances until further notice, and we will continue to provide appropriate updates.” Bernie has been crisscrossing the nation speaking to people and doing his damnedest to drum up excitement for the upcoming 2020 election. But the 78-year-old is still 78-years-old and his system ain’t quite build the way it used to be. Ethan Weiss, a cardiologist at the University of California, San Francisco, said the stent procedure Sanders underwent typically is “not anything I would get too excited about,” calling it “mostly a nuisance.” Weiss, who did not diagnose Sanders, added, “Unless I’m missing something dramatic, he should be in the hospital one or two days, and he should be fine.” It will be interesting to watch how this procedure will affect Senator Sanders’ campaign if at all. Source: Chicago Tribune / Getty California Health Officials Advise Against Vaping And E-Cigarettes The vaping industry is under fire by health officials and California is taking a hard stance against the latest smoking craze . According to LATimes , health officials in the state are urging the public to quit vaping until they can determine exactly what effects the vapor has on the lungs and body. “We are seeing something that we have not seen before,” said Dr. Charity Dean, California’s acting public health officer, in a statement. “There are numerous unknown factors at this time, and due to the uncertainty of the exact cause, it is our recommendation that consumers refrain from vaping until the investigation has concluded.” The fear is that the ingredients inside the liquid capsules, both nicotine and THC, that make vapor may be toxic and cause extreme damage to the lungs. “People are getting sick and some are dying as a result of vaping,” Gov. Newsom said in a statement Tuesday. “Californians are encouraged to stop vaping until health officials fully understand what’s causing this public health crisis.” To date there have been 530 reported cases of injuries and 7 deaths related to e-cigs. Not that smoking is ever good regardless of the substance, but maybe the old school way is *better* than the unknown electronic way for right now.

An unidentified California man has died and the state and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is making a major push to warn society of the dangers of this newfound past time. California will launch a $20 million ad campaign to warn against the dangers of vaping, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Monday, the same day health officials said a 40-year-old had died over the weekend from complications related to using e-cigarettes. The CDC’s Emergency Operations Center is investigating over 380 cases of lung disease related to e-cigarettes in order to determine how these products are affecting people’s health. Governor Gavin Newsom is looking to put a cramp in vaping’s potentially fatal style via taxes and other policies that protect children from malignant marketing. As for flavored e-cigarettes, “they should be banned,” Newsom said, adding he could not add that parameter to his order, though he didn’t explain why. “Let’s just dispense with any niceties,” he said. “You don’t have any bubblegum-flavored, mango-flavored tobacco products unless you’re trying to target an audience that you were losing — that’s young people.” What do you think? Fans will now have an inside look into the making of the sonically diverse project by way of a documentary that airs Monday night (September 16). Deadline reports : The special will air at 10 PM ET/PT on ABC and offers candid footage and interviews. The album came out July 19 in conjunction with Walt Disney Pictures live-action remake of the animated classic. Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records teamed up on the album, which brought together some of the most important African artists of the day with well-known American talent to reinterpret the story and themes of the film with authentic sounds of Africa. Beyoncé Presents: Making The Gift was written, directed and produced by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, with co-director and collaborator Ed Burke. Executive producers are Steve Pamon and Erinn Williams.
