If you’re a Counting On fan, then you’re probably already aware that we’re in the middle of a full-blown Duggar baby boom . No fewer than four Duggar couples are currently expecting, and Jessa Duggar just welcomed her third child in May. Of course, the bulk of the public’s attention is being paid to the couples who are expecting for the first time — couples like Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson. Back in May, the Duggars announced that Lauren is pregnant . The news was met with an even larger tidal wave of encouragement and enthusiasm than usual, owing to the fact that Swanson suffered a miscarriage in February. So despite the fact that half his freakin’ family has a kid on the way Josiah and Lauren are very much in the spotlight right now. In fact, more than any other time since their wedding, the couple is at the center of fans’ attention. And it looks as though they’re seeking to cash in on the opportunity. Yes, Josiah and Lauren are now participating in one of the most controversial Duggar traditions by posting their baby registry online so that fans can buy them items from the list. “Thank you for visiting our baby registry! We are so thankful and blessed for our sweet baby girl that’s on the way,” reads a greeting on the couple’s website. Most of the items are standard — such as diapers, baby monitors, and nursery decor, but there’s also an option to simply purchase Amazon gift cards for Josiah and Lauren. As for the nursery, Josiah and Lauren are expecting a girl , but they’ve encouraged fans not to go overboard on pink baby furniture. “As far as [the] nursery,” they wrote, “we are going with more of a gender neutral theme (black, white, wood).” Not surprisingly, the reaction to fans has been less than ebullient: “I may be wrong but TLC and their personal appearances [probably] pay them well,” wrote one visitor to the website. “Donate to a charity in their name [instead].” The Duggars have been down this road before, such as when they took flak for posting Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell’s baby registry on several websites related to family news and events/ “Very, very uncool. … There are ways to circulate this info to the guests. This is a gift solicitation for the FANS,” wrote one fan at the time. Many others echoed the sentiment, and the registry was eventually taken down. We guess Josiah and Lauren didn’t learn from that debacle. But hey, we guess it’s less shady than when Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar begged fans for cash , straight-out! Maybe the Duggars are very slowly learning how to not seem so desperate! View Slideshow: Josiah and Lauren Duggar Reveal Gender of First Baby (EEEEK!!!!!)

A ctor Will Smith is big on social activism. He’s worked on initiatives centered on youth education, the improvement of inner-city communities, and the empowerment of underprivileged families. According to USA Today , his latest philanthropic project will focus on combatting global homelessness. Philly's own #WillSmith and Dame Helen Mirren will read a bedtime story during the one-night @BigSleepOuts fundraising event to help fight global homelessness. https://t.co/fZOvy3qI5i — NBC10 Philadelphia (@NBCPhiladelphia) September 17, 2019 The West Philadelphia native has partnered with The World’s Big Sleep Out project; a global campaign designed to raise funds for one million individuals around the world who are battling with displacement. As part of the project—which was founded by social entrepreneur Dr. Josh Littlejohn —individuals in 50 cities across the globe will sleep outside for one evening to raise $50 million that will be allocated to organizations that are on a mission to combat homelessness. During the one-night event, Smith will participate in a bedtime story reading in New York City’s Times Square and there will be simultaneous live performances by other entertainers held in Los Angeles, Chicago, Madrid, Amsterdam and other cities. The initiative is a collaborative effort between Social Bite, the Institute of Global Homelessness, UNICEF, the Malala Fund, and the Robin Hood organization and is slated to take place on December 7. “We want to send a message to the world’s political leaders to enact compassionate policy and find solutions for homelessness locally and the global refugee crisis that affects us all,” wrote Littlejohn in a statement on the initiative’s website. “We are a small, interconnected world. By collectively sacrificing our beds for one cold night we can reach out a hand of compassion and solidarity with those who need it most – homeless people on our doorsteps and refugees internationally.” Projects like The World’s Big Sleep Out are needed as homelessness is on the rise internationally. According to The Institute of Global Homelessness , there are 100 million people worldwide who have no housing. Smith and his family have been dedicated to supporting the homeless population. The announcement about his participation in this initiative comes just months after his son Jaden Smith launched a Los Angeles-based vegan food truck that provides free meals for the homeless. R apper Meek Mill is making an impact beyond music. The Philadelphia-bred hip-hop artist has been dedicated to empowering the youth in his hometown. Weeks after unveiling renovated basketball courts in North Philly Meek—whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams —returned to his former elementary school to donate backpacks and school supplies, CBS Philly reported. Meek Mill Donates More Than 500 Backpacks To His Former Philadelphia Elementary School https://t.co/8eEIvagUdn — CBS Philly (@CBSPhilly) September 13, 2019 Williams visited the James G. Blaine Elementary School to provide students with encouraging words and distribute 500 backpacks filled with supplies. He also gifted 30 teachers at the school with classroom supplies that will last the entire year. The initiative was a collaborative effort between Williams and Puma. This isn’t the first time that he has stepped up to support the youth during the back-to-school season. In the past, he’s hosted several school drives benefiting children in his hometown. Last year, he teamed up with the School District of Philadelphia to donate 6,000 backpacks to underprivileged students. “Growing up in Philly, I’ve watched families struggle to make ends meet and buy basic school supplies for the kids,” he told Billboard in a statement. “Those memories stay with me and that’s why I’m committed to giving back to families in my hometown, putting smiles on kids’ faces and helping them start the school year on the right now with the right supplies.” Williams’ donation comes at a time where many students and teachers at schools throughout the country need support as financial obstacles have prevented them from being able to purchase essential supplies for school. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. A study conducted by the National Center for Education Statistics revealed that 94 percent of public school teachers have spent some of their own money on school supplies without reimbursement. There’s no arguing that coffee is the most important beverage next to water (and fine, tea). It’s your daily pick-me-up, your energy fuel that helps you conquer your otherwise insurmountable tasks for the day. It’s only right, then, that you only consume quality coffee, and not the kind that you can make from pods (which is bad for the environment, btw) or your local coffee chain (you know the one). Crafting coffee is both an art and a science, and you can make yourself the perfect cup each time with the Wilfa Precision Automatic Coffee Maker . Designed and developed in collaboration with renowned barista Tim Wendelboe, this java machine is inspired by Norway’s bustling coffee culture. It uses state-of-the-art brewing technology to give you complete control over the water and temperature, allowing for optimal (aka flavorful) results. Every time you use it, you can observe how the coffee makes its way through the tubes and into the carafe. It also features a LED display with a kitchen timer, and a child safety lock function to prevent accidental operation. Enjoy quality coffee every day with the Wilfa Precision Automatic Coffee Maker.
