By Gil Kaufman Justin Bieber Photo: Mark Von Holden/ Getty Images Maybe you haven’t made your plans yet, but Justin Bieber knows exactly where he’ll be on New Year’s Eve: Times Square in New York. Bieber has been booked to play live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012,” joining Lady Gaga on the 40th anniversary edition of the December 31 staple. The show will help cap a busy holiday season for Bieber, who is preparing to release his first-ever holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, on November 1. The first video, for the song “Mistletoe,” will debut Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Bieber said he’s excited for fans to check out his mix of holiday standards and new songs. Regarding why he decided on a holiday release as fans wait for the follow-up to My World 2.0, Bieber said, “I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, ‘It’s near Christmastime. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album.’ The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy.” The singer said he picked a mix of his favorite Christmas songs (“Silent Night,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”) and new tunes (“Mistletoe,” “Christmas Love”) to offer a little something for everyone. “I picked ‘Santa [Claus is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he said. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video Tuesday (October 18) at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com. Under the Mistletoe is due November 1; the ‘Mistletoe’ video premieres tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV! By James Montgomery Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News Justin Bieber is about to share his top-secret approach to writing his upcoming holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, with MTV News, but first, there’s something he’d like to clear up: “People get confused: My song is ‘Mistletoe,’ my album is Under the Mistletoe, so don’t get it confused,” he explained. “Don’t get it twisted.” So now you know. And of course, that “Mistletoe” video will premiere tonight at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV — with a special live stream to follow on MTV.com — giving his fans the first taste of what they can expect on Under the Mistletoe, which is due November 1. It’s a collection of brand-new Bieber songs and his renditions of holiday standards, one he hopes will not only become a classic in its own right, but will tide the True Beliebers over until he releases the proper follow-up to his smash My World 2.0 album . “I was going to put out my album soon anyways, and I was thinking, ‘It’s near Christmastime. If I’m going to release an album near Christmas, I figure maybe I’d just do a Christmas album,’ ” he said. “The fans get more music, and everyone’s happy. “I just picked my favorite Christmas songs. I picked ‘Silent Night,’ I picked ‘Santa [Claus Is] Coming to Town,’ because everyone loves those songs. Those are classics. They get people excited for Christmas,” he continued. “And then, for songs that we wrote, we wanted to make enough new songs for people to hear new music and not just hear some classics. There’s a lot of new stuff on there.” Oh, and as far as that secret songwriting approach, well, it turns out that in order to pen holiday tunes, Bieber forced himself to get in the Christmas spirit — even if he was working on most of the songs in August and September. And how did he do that? He turned to Christmas cookies, of course. “It’s different, because you’ve gotta think Christmastime. You’ve gotta think, ‘What’s at Christmas? Mistletoe, reindeer, Santa, all these things.’ And especially when it’s not Christmastime, it’s hard to really get your mind around it,” he said. “But once you get into it, like, I was really thinking it was Christmastime when I was writing this album. … We had Christmas cookies [in the studio].” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video tonight at 7:54 p.m. on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com! Nikki Reed Calls Wedding To Paul McDonald ‘Magical’

‘Twilight’ actress and ‘American Idol’ alum tweet about Sunday’s Malibu nuptials. By Jocelyn Vena Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed (file) Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images The first 24 hours of Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald’s married life seem to be going quite well. The newlyweds took to Twitter to let their fans know just how happy they are after Sunday’s wedding. “Yesterday was the most magical day of my life…” the “Twilight” actress tweeted Monday (October 17), one day after she said “I do” to the “American Idol” singer. “Yesterday was the most amazing day of my life,” Mc Donald wrote , echoing his bride’s enthusiasm. “Everything was perfect. I’m officially a MARRIED MAN! Woohoo!” The couple married in front of 100 guests in Malibu on Sunday. E! News reports that “Idol” singer Stefano Langone played the reception, along with McDonald’s band, Grand Magnolias. McDonald also reportedly performed at the party. “Spy Kids” star and Reed pal Alexa Vega served as a bridesmaid at the festivities. “We couldn’t be happier!” the couple said in a statement after news broke of their wedding. “[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We’re so glad this day has come!” The two began dating in April and got engaged just two months later. They announced their plans to marry at the MTV Movie Awards in June, where Reed was spotted sporting an engagement ring. “She’s amazing. It’s kind of one of those things you don’t expect,” McDonald gushed to MTV News earlier this year. “Like, last year I never would have thought I’d be getting married. She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other. When you know, you know, and she’s the one.” The pair have been quite public about their relationship. McDonald plans to release an album tentatively called The Nikki Reed EP, and when Reed hit up the Teen Choice Awards in August, she was sporting Paul’s face on her nails and revealed that he was being quite the bridezilla . “He’s doing a lot of it, he is. He’s, like, taking control,” Reed said about McDonald’s part in the wedding planning. “He sits with his computer in between songs and is kind of on a roll with everything.” Leave your well-wishes for the newlyweds in the comments below!

Justin Bieber Caught ‘Christmas Spirit’ In ‘Mistletoe’ Video

‘Mistletoe’ video premieres tomorrow at 7:54 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, with in-depth live stream to follow on MTV.com. By James Montgomery Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News SANTIAGO, Chile — Justin Bieber faced plenty of challenges when he shot his “Mistletoe” video , the least of which was the fact that he did it in September, in Tennessee, with fake snow cascading down from the sky. The way he tells it, the biggest obstacle was not even being weirded out by Santa. “It was different because, like, it’s a Christmas video, so you gotta get your Christmas spirit on,” Bieber told MTV News backstage in Santiago, Chile, where he played to 55,000 screaming fans on Saturday. “We had Santa there. He was kind of interesting because he had this finger that would light up, but I never knew that, so he would come up to me randomly and pointed at me and his finger lit up and it was really strange. I was like, ‘Santa doesn’t do that, my friend.’ ” Of course, Bieber was quick to add that despite the awkward interaction, he remains decidedly pro-Santa, since “he gets kids in the holiday spirit.” Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video will make its world premiere Tuesday at 7:54 p.m. on MTV — with a special live stream to follow on MTV.com, where we’ll roll out more of our interview with him! — and on Monday (October 17), he released the song to iTunes. He’s rather proud of how both turned out, because he got to collaborate with two of his favorites: director Roman White and the production team known as the Messengers. “[Roman] can tell a story really well, so we wanted to use him,” Bieber explained. “He shot the ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ video, and I thought he did a great job; he shot the ‘You Belong [With] Me’ video with Taylor Swift, and he had a lot of great experience and a lot of great work. “[And] Nasri [one member of the Messengers team], he’s really intelligent, he can tell a story as well, Christmas, anything,” he continued. “So we were thinking of doing a Christmas album last year, we never really got to it. And this year I was like, ‘This year I really want to do it,’ so we collaborated on some ideas and sure enough, we got some great Christmas music. … I think I have a few classics on the album, I really, really do. I think that there’s some songs on there that are so catchy and everyone’s going to want to sing them every Christmas.” Catch the premiere of Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” video Tuesday, October 18, at 7:54 p.m. on MTV, with a full interview to follow on MTV.com. Lockout Woes Continue: David Stern Says We Might As Well Cancel Christmas Games

David Stern has been making his media rounds today and said that he’s doubtful about a the NBA coming back by Christmas. Damn, Damn, DAMN!!!! Commissioner David Stern said his “gut” tells him there will be no NBA basketball on Christmas without a labor agreement by Tuesday. That day, when owners and players are scheduled to meet with a federal mediator, is a “really big deal,” he added. Owners will then open two days of board meetings Wednesday, and without an agreement to bring them, Stern believes further cancellations are coming. “Right now, Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday, just before my owners come into town, having brought in the labor relations committee and Billy (Hunter) having brought in his executive committee, it’s time to make the deal,” Stern said Thursday. “If we don’t make it on Tuesday, my gut — this is not in my official capacity of canceling games — but my gut is that we won’t be playing on Christmas Day.” Stern canceled the first two weeks of the regular season on Monday when the sides couldn’t reach a deal before a deadline he had set. Christmas is traditionally on of the first big days of the NBA season. This year’s three-game schedule features the NBA Finals rematch between the Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat. Look on the bright side: LeBron won’t blow a game on Christmas Day if the game is canceled! It’s like a Christmas miracle! Well, actually, it just really sucks. Source
