A Belgian teacher used that to his advantage by threatening Game of Thrones spoilers on his classroom of unruly students if they didn’t quiet down. The math teacher asked his class who watched Game of Thrones and when the majority said they did, he gave them an ultimatum: Pay attention or he would reveal who died in Game of Thrones season 3 since he’d read the books. The students tested him by refusing to quiet down, and he followed through, writing the name of a dead character on the board. Around 20 students sighed in resignation. According to WBIR: A Knox County student is accused of trying to set his teacher on fire. According to Knoxville Police, officers were called to West High School around 10:45 Monday morning. Investigators said teacher Gabriela Penalba, 23, had turned her back to the class while teaching when a 15-year-old male student used a cigarette lighter to set her shirt and hair on fire. Other students helped extinguish the fire, and Penalba was not burned. When she left the classroom, the student tried to dispose of the lighter by throwing it out a window. According to TMZ Deion Sanders has been 86′ed from the school he co-founded in Texas … after admitting he got into a physical altercation with a head official, TMZ has learned. A rep for the Prime Prep Academy says the school is cutting ties with Deion — who was an “ambassador and employee of the school” — after deciding they can no longer have a professional relationship with him following allegations he choke slammed PPA honcho Kevin Jefferson. Deion says he didn’t assault the guy … but acknowledges they “locked up” after Deion learned some of the student athletes at the school were not doing well in the classroom. In a statement, the school would not explain the specific reason they want to cut ties with Sanders, but acknowledge the positive things he did for the place saying, “ “Deion’s positive contribution is appreciated and regarded as a laudable example. The school family wishes Mr. Sanders much success in his future endeavors.” Deion previously griped that he was angry about the quality of the education at PPA — but school officials insist they have “complete confidence” in their programs. A Connecticut attorney blames the state for the brutal massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and is looking to sue for $100 million on behalf of one of the survivors. According to the Hartford Courant, Irving Pinsky filed legal documents with the Claims Commissioner, asking permission to sue the state on behalf of a 6-year-old student. The Newtown, Conn., resident (only ID’d as “Jill Doe”) was in another classroom at the time Adam Lanza open fire and suffered emotional and psychological trauma. Pinsky believes that the December 14 shooting was foreseeable, claiming a “fellow like Adam Lanza would have been known as a potential problem to the police.” As a result, he wants permission to sue Connecticut for nine figures. The state is immune from most lawsuits, which is why Pinsky must ask for permission to even file the suit; he could be allowed to and later lose the case itself. Or he could be rejected outright. No decision has been made regarding whether or not the suit will go through, but it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
