A coupled up Beysus and Camel enjoyed a night of Latin music and dancing while they were on their anniversary trip to Cuba . Via Daily Mail reports : Beyonce just can’t help showing off, even while she’s on a relaxing holiday with her husband Jay Z. The superstar was spotted burning up the dance floor in a club in Cuba, showing off her previously unseen salsa moves. Being a good sport, the elated looking singer took to the floor accompanied by another guest and began to shimmy and shake. Delighting her fellow club goers she then began making away along the floor, proving there really is no dance move she can’t handle. Looking low-key but stunning the mother-of-one wore a chic blazer over her short dress which left her shapely legs on display. Her hair was piled atop her head in the style she sported throughout her entire trip in Cuba. Her dance floor antics occurred on the same trip where she was spotted amongst a throng of scantily-clad showgirls at the historic Tropicana club in Havana. With their colorful sequins and feathers, the dancers – known collectively as Las Diosas de Carne (Flesh Goddesses) – might have upstaged Beyonce in the wardrobe department but not even there extravagant costumes managed to stop the songstress from taking centre stage. The mother-of-one and her husband Jay-Z, 43, were pictured gamely joining in the fun, as a club-full of star-struck revellers look on. An onlooker who was at the venue told MailOnline how the famous couple – who were in Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary – snuck into the club after dining out at La Guarida restaurant earlier on Wednesday night. The pair took a front row seat and watched the cabaret performance while guzzling on champagne and Cuba Libre cocktails. The onlooker told MailOnline: ‘Jay Z puffed on a couple of cigars while Beyonce nodded her head smiling at the dancers.’ But it wasn’t long before their presence became known. ‘Jay was caught off guard when a scantily-clad dancer with a chandelier on her head came and danced right behind him. ‘Beyonce looked a little taken aback… Then at the end of the show the dancers flooded off the stage and danced around their table, evidently so excited to see them. ‘Beyonce and Jay then got up and danced with the dancers to the Cuban music.’ Eventually the pair’s security team had to intervene and ushered them upstairs to a less public table as revellers and dancers surrounded them. This week’s High and Low celebrates the sublime and the obscene. But though the two movies I’ve spotlighted couldn’t be more different, they’re both a lot of fun. Perhaps the case could be made that both movies celebrate female artists and their unique voices, but that might be stretching things a tad. Still, you might find yourself surprised by these titles — one’s less stodgy, and the other less stupid, than the casual observer might at first realize. HIGH: Pina (The Criterion Collection; DVD $29.95, Blu-Ray/3D Blu-Ray Combo Pack, $49.95) WHO’S RESPONSIBLE: Directed by Wim Wenders ; featuring dancers from the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch. WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: A celebration of the work of revolutionary dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch , whose visionary ideas about dance ranged from the kinds of movement that could be incorporated into performance pieces to the use of water, dirt and rocks onstage. (If you’ve seen Pedro Almodóvar’s Talk to Her , the dance pieces that bookend that film are Bausch works.) The interviews aren’t particularly illuminating, but the dance comes alive for Wenders’ camera, particularly since he shot in 3-D, which in this case helps make the cinematic experience more like being there live. WHY IT’S SCHMANCY: Even if the words “modern dance” send chills down your spine, Wenders makes this work very approachable, mixing performance with occasional narration from the late Bausch’s collaborators and acolytes in a way that brings us in and lets even dance newbies understand why this work is so groundbreaking and extraordinary. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY IT: Criterion goes 3-D for the first time with this release, and they couldn’t have picked a better movie to show off the process. There’s not a lot leaping out at you. Wenders instead goes for depth, and the effect both highlights the movement of the dancers and creates a physical context for their movement. There’s also the usual truckload of Criterion extras, including an interview with and commentary by Wenders, deleted scenes and a booklet that makes up for one of the movie’s minor shortcomings by identifying the dancers. LOW: For a Good Time, Call… (Universal Studios Home Entertainment; DVD $29.89, Blu-Ray $34.98) WHO’S RESPONSIBLE: Directed by Jamie Travis ; written by Lauren Miller and Katie Anne Naylon; starring Miller, Ari Graynor , Justin Long , Seth Rogen, Kevin Smith. WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT: Recently dumped and between gigs, Lauren (Miller) is forced to share digs with her old college nemesis Katie (Graynor). The two become best pals after Lauren discovers that Katie is working as a phone-sex operator — and that the strait-laced Lauren, much to the surprise of both, is a natural at talking dirty for 99 cents a minute. WHY IT’S FUN: I know, the idea of a phone sex comedy feels at least a decade and a half out of date, but For a Good Time, Call… does a convincing job of making the idea of hot telephone chat seem contemporary, even in the Internet age. What’s such a treat about the movie is the way that it explores the intimacy of female friendships, while also allowing its leading ladies to be bawdy and outrageous in a way that never feels like a man’s idea of what a potty-mouth woman would sound like. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY IT: Given the film’s racy premise, it’s not surprising that they’ve got a longer, “unrated” cut that features even more smutty humor than the theatrical version. My name is Shantal. I’m from Connecticut, so my cousin Kasey and I decided to camp outside of the Today Show to see Justin perform . Throughout the week, my friends we’re trying to trend #BiebsMeetShantal , which I didn’t know the reason as of why, but it trended #1 worldwide on Tuesday. Nothing had happened during the trend, so on Thursday I went down to NYC with Kasey and my mom. We made amazing friends in line, and we had heard that Justin was at the Trump Hotel in SoHo, so we had left (without permission) and took a subway to SoHo. We had no luck, but on our way back we had learned Justin had driven by, greeting fans. We were all hurt we missed our probably only chance to get close to Justin. I told my parents we were chasing his car, and so we avoided the trouble of leaving. So time went by and apparently the same friends who has trended #BiebsMeetShantal, began to trend #BiebsMeetShantalAtTheTodayShow and it was #1 worldwide again. Nothing had happened, and then it was around 11:55pm when I had received a direct message from Scooter Braun saying: “See u tomorrow.” I began to hastily direct message him back wondering what he had meant. I had gotten no response so I turned my phone off, and I turned it back on, I had seen a direct message from Kenny, asking for my number and telling me to meet him at 30 Rock at 6:30AM for an arrangement. I literally began flipping out, hyperventilating and just completely fangirling. At around 5:30, they began to let people into the show. I began to get nervous, because I didn’t want to be stuck inside the barricades when I have to meet Kenny. I was on the verge of crying at this point, because I was so confused as of what was happening. I was frantically messaging Kenny, trying to find out what was going on. Finally, I had received a call on where to go, and who to meet there. I met a guy Joe who took me into RockerFeller Plaza, downstairs to where Justin’s entire crew’s dressing room would be. We waited and we had met Kenny, Scrappy, DJ Tay James, Alfredo, and a few of the dancers, even Big Sean! Finally, I saw Justin coming through the door on my left, and I literally froze. He was past us when we finally decided to say Hi, and he gave us a peace sign before going into his dressing room. We waited around a bit, and Scooter came over to us, and we talked to him for a while, and he told us that Justin hates when he tucks his shirt into his pants, so Scooter tucked in his shirt and Justin called him a cowboy . After like 20 minutes Justin came running out of his dressing room with his microphone in and everything and was like, “HEY GUYS!” and we were like, “Hi Justin!” and he gave us a hug and told us he had to do soundcheck and he’d be down to hangout and take pictures after. We agreed and he started to walk away with Big Sean and Justin turned around and was like, “Aren’t you guys coming?” and we’re like “What?” and he’s like “Come on! Walk with us!” We couldn’t believe it, so we went after him and walked up the stairs with him and the crew, like an entourage. We reached the top of the stairs and honestly the room erupted into screams as we walked out the doors. Kenny handed us our passes and put us right next to the stage with the entire crew! Big Sean and his security were right next to us, and we wished him luck, he was honestly so nice. We watched Justin perform ‘Boyfriend’, ‘Baby’, and ‘As Long As You Love Me’. He got off stage for ‘All Around The World’ and let the dancers perform while he went back downstairs. Kenny told us to follow him and so we went downstairs. We talked to Scooter again, and he asked us how we were enjoying the show, and we we’re like, “It’s unreal.” Then Alfredo came over and was like, “It’s crazy up there,” and we talked to him, and then out of nowhere, Justin appeared behind Alfredo and was like play-choking him, and me and my cousin literally jumped against the wall, he scared us. Justin saw us and then copied us, going against the wall like us, and was like, “So I guess we’re gonna chill here right? And we all laughed. We were like thanking him for taking time to meet us. He would always smile at us, and was so genuinely happy. He asked us why we didn’t say Hi when he walked in and we were like, “You were the one who didn’t say hi!” and he was like “NO NO NO I SAID HI.” and we were like “LIES,” and Alfredo pointed at Justin’s bandana like you have this thing on bro, they can’t hear you. We we’re all joking around with each other. I asked him how his eyebrow was and he was showing us how it wouldn’t move, and I was moving one of my eyebrows mimicking him, and he was like, “Stop you’re faking it, you’re making fun of me.” He’s just so normal around his fans. We took pictures on his phone, we made thug faces in one picture , and it was funny because my cousin was like, “Let’s do thug faces,” which is a serious face, and he just knew. He laughed at it though, he was like “Thug faces haahhaahahahahah.” We continued talking for like 15 minutes, and I had told him about this awesome t-shirt design my friend had made, and I wanted to show him, but I didn’t have it on my phone. He had put his arm around me and was like, “Stay in school and I’ll design my own clothes, how about that?” and I was like “Fine I guess,” and then he gave me a huge kiss on the cheek and my face dropped. I couldn’t stop smiling. Afterwords we took a bunch of pictures, and Justin seemed upset he had to go perform. He gave us one last hug and told us he’d see us when he performs, and we were led outside to a spot near the stage. We watched Justin perform AGAIN, and honestly, it was amazing to see Justin give his all on stage. It was the best day of my entire life. From ‘Vogue’ to ‘Human Nature,’ MTV News points out the many nods to the Queen of Pop’s legendary music videos. By John Mitchell Madonna in her “Girl Gone Wild” video Photo: Interscope The video for video for “Give Me All Your Luvin,” “GGW” is not plot-driven, but rather an assemblage of striking images that recall the dark, sexed-up era she ushered in with her “Vogue” video and which reached its apex with the release of her “Sex” book and Erotica album. Madonna makes references to her iconic past throughout the video, meshing vintage M with her current self seamlessly. Below are the five key references we noticed in the “Girl Gone Wild” clip: “Erotica” From Madonna’s big, diva-like bleach-blond hair to those chains and leather-brief-wearing men, the dark, sexy vibe here is pure “Erotica”-era Madge. The clip for “Erotica” was markedly grittier, employing camera filters and sleazy locations (and, you know, bridles and whips) to give off an S&M vibe. If “Girl” isn’t as gritty in its approach to sex, it’s also far less off-putting. The sex stuff in the “Erotica” video is more of an artful expression of fetishism than it a series of “wow, that’s hot” moments, like those featured in “GGW.” But as usual, M delivers plenty of edgy eye candy. “Vogue” Those moves! Those angular, cutting arm, leg and body movements. Check. A bunch of scantily clad male dancers posing in formation. Check. In addition to being shot entirely in black-and-white, the dancing in “Girl Gone Wild” is a direct callback to the sharp moves from “Vogue.” A few times in the video (check 1:10), Madonna and her dancers are definitely “vogueing” — or at least as close to it as she’s gotten since she struck her most famous pose in 1990. There’s also something to be said for the gay culture references in both videos. Madonna made vogueing mainstream in 1990 with her hit, but the highly stylized form of dance was actually born in the late-’80s Harlem gay ballroom scene (see the amazing documentary “Paris Is Burning” if you want to know where vogueing really came from). She embraced the connection then and appears to be doing the same here. In “GGW,” we have two male models gnawing on the same apple, dancers in heels (and little else) and many, many suggestive close-ups celebrating the male form. “Human Nature” The “Human Nature” video is most remembered for Madonna’s black latex bodysuit, and she resurrects the look for “GGW .” Beyond the suit itself, the “Nature” video also cast Madonna and her dancers in all black and set them against an all-white background, a style choice she uses frequently throughout “Girl.” Like the “GGW” clip, the vid for “Nature” was directed by a well-known fashion photographer, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, who also helmed Madonna’s controversial video for “Justify My Love.” “Justify My Love” Speaking of which, Her Madgesty is getting awful handsy with her sexy dancers here, and late in the video, we find Madonna and her dancers really going for it, writhing in a pile and feeling each other up. The “Love” video was, of course, banned from MTV in 1990 for its depictions of sex acts. Set in a voyeuristic hotel, the “Love” clip includes what we can only refer to as an orgy sequence, and she recalls that a bit here, albeit in a tamer fashion. The scene in “GGW” is less explicit because it’s not as direct about its subject matter — being sexy is part of the “GGW” narrative, while making a grand observation about full-on sex was at least part of the point of “Justify My Love.” “Like a Prayer” Madonna wouldn’t be Madonna without a direct reference to religious iconography. Here, we get a dancer wearing a crown of thorns. Her video for “Like a Prayer” famously featured Catholic symbols, including stigmata and burning crosses, and a dream about making love to a saint on an alter. Madonna herself has even donned a crown of thorns onstage. During her performance of “Live to Tell” on her Confessions Tour, Madonna sang from a massive mirrored cross while sporting the crown. My name’s Trish and November 23rd was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. My friends and I were trying so hard to get VIP passes to see Justin at the Today Show and of course we had no luck. We were so unsure if it was even worth going down there. We were devastated until we found out about THE VIEW! We had a half day of school so we decided to skip school and go down to the city at 8 am. When we first got to The View, they were done handing out passes to get in. So we decided to wait outside! We waited near the exit where all the celebrities leave. We made so many friends while waiting, it was great!. While waiting we were looking at Twitter and saw that Scrappy tweeted about how there wasn’t enough beliebers inside The View! EVERYONE in the crowd outside told him that he should come out side! About 20 minutes later Justin came out. I WAS DYING. I’ve never been so close to Justin in my life! Girls pushed down the brocades to get in front of the gate. My friends and I stayed near one of the gates. We kept screaming Justin’s name and then Kenny pointed to us telling us that Justin would come over to us next! He came over right in front of me. He touched my hand and looked me in the eyes and was like, “How are you”. I always had like a conversation planned out on what I would say to Justin when I first met him. That plan failed, the first thing I said was I LOVE YOU . After Justin left I was in SHOCK. I called all of my friends hysterically crying. We then walked to Rockefeller Center. My uncle was one of the workers there so we were hoping we would be able to somehow get close to see Justin perform! We waited downstairs and met so many people. We met all the dancers, Scooter, and Dan Kanter. While we were talking to the dancers, guess who walked right passed us? USHER! My uncle was able to get us VIP PASSES to go on the ice to watch Justin perform with Busta and Usher. This day was the best day EVER.
